Chapter 24 - Bloodmoon rite: Kael and Sylis

Bloodmoon Rite: Kael & Sylis

The sky bled.

Above the ruins of the Hollow Spire, the blood moon hung low dripping crimson light like wine over cracked altar stones. Nothing grew here. Nothing dared.

Except desire.

Kael knelt in a circle of scorched sigils, bare-chested, his tattoos writhing like smoke. The chains on his wrists weren't bindings they were reminders. That once, even he bowed.

But tonight?

He would only kneel for one.

Sylis stepped into the circle barefoot, his black robes trailing behind like liquid night. His eyes glowed violet under the moonlight, but it wasn't magic. It was hunger. His lips parted, a single fang glinting.

"You ready to be ruined, warlord?" he whispered.

Kael looked up, eyes glowing red-gold. "Ruin me, mage. I want your magic in my throat, your name carved into my spine."

Sylis smirked. "Then bleed for me."

He raised a blade of obsidian glass and slit Kael's palm. The blood hit the ground like fire. Sigils erupted around them, ancient, forgotten, wild.

Kael didn't flinch. He grinned.

"My turn," he growled—and in one motion, pulled Sylis down into his lap.

Their lips met in violence.

Kisses that bruised. Hands that claimed. They tore at each other's skin, tongues tasting blood and spellfire. Kael bit Sylis's lip until he moaned into his mouth, pulling hair, gripping hips.

Then

Sylis straddled him, threw his head back, and began the incantation.

"By blood and bond,

By ruin and rage,

I bind you, Kael,

To every heartbeat I own."

The mark appeared over Kael's heart. Twisting. Glowing. Alive.

But Kael wasn't done.

He flipped Sylis beneath him, teeth dragging down his chest.

"I give you my wrath, my ruin, and my name. You'll wear it in your bones, in your spine, in every gasp that leaves your lips."

And as they joined fully, fiercely the sigils screamed.

Magic poured from them like a storm, lighting up the entire cursed spire. The stars blinked. The moon pulsed. The very air moaned.

When they climaxed together Kael bit Sylis's shoulder, sealing the bond in flesh and flame.

The Bloodmoon howled.

---

When it was done, they lay tangled in ash and sweat, magic still crackling between their skin.

"You're mine now," Kael whispered.

"I always was," Sylis breathed, tracing the sigil now burned onto Kael's throat.
