Chapter 153 - Wedding Night, Return

Midnight, inside a large bedroom, Lucian was still wearing the intricate black wedding robe he had worn during the wedding ceremony, which made his tall, upright figure appear even more imposing.

He turned around and looked at Fu Xuan, who sat a few steps away on the edge of the bridal bed, her posture obedient and still.

Now, the heavy phoenix crown worn during the wedding ceremony had already been removed from her head, revealing the carefully arranged pink bun beneath, decorated with only a few delicate pearl ornaments.

Layers upon layers of splendid wedding garments draped over her petite frame, making her small, fair face appear even paler. In the flickering candlelight, even the fine hairs on her cheeks were faintly visible.

Her eyes were slightly lowered, long lashes like tiny fans casting a soft shadow beneath them, while her fingers unconsciously twisted at the wide sleeves of her wedding gown.

"Tired?"

Lucian asked, his voice lower than usual, as he walked toward Fu Xuan, who quickly darted her eyes up at him, then dropped them again.

"Mm..."

Fu Xuan replied faintly, her voice soft and gentle, like a feather brushing against one's heart.

Lucian sat down beside her, causing the soft mattress to sink under his weight.

Now that he sat right beside her, she could clearly feel the warmth of his body, his presence so near that it made her instinctively shift away—but as her shoulder brushed against the cold, carved bedpost, she quietly moved back again, only to end up right beside his arm.

"Heh, what are you hiding from?" Lucian chuckled softly.

Right after saying this, instead of touching Fu Xuan's tense, fidgeting hands, he reached out and gently pinched her delicate earlobe—the tiny ear instantly flushed to the same rosy color as her wedding gown, the blush spreading all the way down to her neck.

Like a startled little rabbit, Fu Xuan trembled at his touch before suddenly raising her head—her clear, slightly confused eyes staring straight at him.

"W-Who's hiding!"

Fu Xuan retorted, trying to maintain the authority of the Master Diviner of the Xianzhou Yuque, but the trembling in her voice completely ruined it.

Lucian found her feigned composure irresistibly adorable, so the next moment, he stopped teasing her, placed his large hand over her small, intertwined ones, and gently separated them, intertwining his fingers with hers.

Just like that, her slender and cold fingers were completely enveloped by the warmth of his dry, steady hand.

"Cold..."

Lucian murmured lightly as he rubbed the smooth back of Fu Xuan's hand.

Fu Xuan said nothing, yet strangely felt that the places she touched burned like fire.

Eventually, that burning sensation climbed from her arm all the way up to her face, making her heart race so fast it felt as though it might burst from her chest.

Lucian soon lifted his other hand, the tip of his finger brushing against Fu Xuan's smooth cheek, tracing the shape of her graceful brows, her delicate nose, and finally stopping at her slightly pursed lips—the sensation beneath his fingertip was impossibly soft.

In that instant, her breathing completely unraveled, her long lashes trembling uncontrollably.

Seeing his burning gaze, she wanted to look away, but it was as if she had been frozen in place, unable to do anything except watch as his deep eyes drew closer, closer still, until she could see her own flushed face reflected within them.

"Little Xuan..."

Lucian breathed out Fu Xuan's nickname, his voice brushing over her lips, carrying both the faint scent of alcohol and a teasing warmth that made her knees weak.

"Mm..."

Fu Xuan barely managed to respond, her voice almost inaudible, as she closed her eyes—her lashes, long like two small fans, quivered and cast nervous shadows beneath her eyes.

It was unclear how much time had passed before Lucian finally pulled back slightly.

Fu Xuan's cheeks were burning, her moist eyes glazed with a dreamy shimmer like gemstones dipped in clear spring water. A few strands of her pink hair, dampened by sweat, clung to her smooth forehead and flushed cheeks.

Lucian swallowed hard as he gazed at her current appearance—this alluring sight that belonged to him alone.

"Little Xuan..."

Lucian slipped an arm beneath Fu Xuan's knees and effortlessly lifted her petite body into his arms, which caused her to gasp in surprise and instinctively wrap her arms around his neck.

"Lucian..."

Fu Xuan called his name, her voice so soft and delicate, carrying a hint of unintentional affection.

A few moments later, the candle flame suddenly flared, while the embroidered gauze canopy fell in silence, veiling the moonlight from the room.

Beside the bed, a wedding gown and a wedding robe lay entangled on the floor like two lotus flowers leaning against each other.

Inside the room, faint moans, sighs, and yelps resounded one after another, along with the shadow of two people—one big, one small—entangled in various positions and movements.

Every second, the candle wax slowly pooled, solidifying into coral-like shapes upon the gilded stand.

A night breeze brushed against the window lattice, stirring the faint jingling of bells that came from the wind chime on the osmanthus tree—one Lucian and Fu Xuan had hung there—now gently swaying, shaking loose a few dewdrop-streaked leaves.

An hour later, as the air in the bedroom was filled with the slightly sweet scent of vitality, warm and damp, Lucian's 'little brother' finally shot his seed of Abundance into Fu Xuan's 'little cave.'

Unfortunately, Fu Xuan couldn't even survive the first round and had already fainted, which caused Lucian to sigh helplessly.

[DING! Congratulations on completing the script!]

[In one minute, the script will close, and the host will leave the current world.]

"Hahh... getting her heart and body really is one of the conditions for completing the script..."

Lucian, who had already suspected as much, muttered quietly.

He looked at Fu Xuan, now fast asleep from exhaustion, and fought the urge to wake her up just to say goodbye.

In the end, he used his final minute to get up, tuck the blanket more securely around her, and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

He silently gazed at his wife's sleeping figure for a moment before sending a message to her jade abacus.

As the countdown ended, Lucian's body turned into motes of light and vanished from the room.

Several hours later, when dawn came, Fu Xuan woke from her sleep.

"Mm... Ah, I'm already a married woman now..."

Still in a daze, Fu Xuan muttered in realization, then looked around the room, but she couldn't find her husband anywhere.

As she picked up her jade abacus to check the time, she noticed an incoming message from him.

[Lucian: Wait for me.]

"Hmm... could he have gone out to buy some milk tea?" Fu Xuan smiled to herself, sitting up cheerfully. "Maybe he's planning to surprise me?"

Half an hour later, after bathing and dressing beautifully, she made breakfast and waited at the dinner table for Lucian to return, all while humming a tune.

Hour by hour, the breakfast she made went cold, then warm again, then cold once more, yet the husband she was waiting for never returned.

[Script: Fu Xuan, completed.]

As the message from the System resounded, Lucian's vision cleared once more, and he found himself somewhere else entirely.

He was now in the Xianzhou Luofu, or more precisely, in the temporary residence lent to him by Jing Yuan. Standing before him were Jingliu, Baiheng, and Fu Xuan, who was frozen in a mysterious state.

"Lucian, you're back! Look, what's wrong with the Master Diviner?"

As soon as Baiheng saw Lucian appear, she rushed over and grabbed his arm, hurriedly explaining everything that had happened while he was gone.

Lucian had spent over three hundred years inside Fu Xuan's script, but in reality, only about five hours had passed.

Before Baiheng could finish speaking, Fu Xuan's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Mm... where... am I?" Fu Xuan blinked in confusion, as though she had just woken from a long dream.

"Are you alright?" Jingliu asked calmly, stepping forward and reaching out to touch Fu Xuan's shoulder.

Unlike before, Fu Xuan's body was now solid and touchable.

Lucian, smiling wryly, didn't offer any explanation, as he knew that their situation was rather complicated now.

He vaguely remembered that, before he activated the script, Fu Xuan had made some kind of vow, so perhaps it wasn't the best time to say anything that might contradict it.

"Lucian..."

As soon as Fu Xuan saw Lucian's face, the memories inside the script began to return, and before long, as they fully came back, the last thing she remembered was sitting alone at the dining table, waiting for him to return.

Now, as she looked at him, her gaze carried a mixture of emotions—resentment, relief, and longing.

Who said one gaze couldn't hold three feelings at once?

However, in that moment, Jingliu suddenly stepped between Lucian and Fu Xuan.

"What's with that look in your eyes, Master Diviner?"

Jingliu gazed at Fu Xuan and threw out a sharp question, her face completely emotionless.
