The slug showcased him a pool, which he would be training in.
He made a hand seal.
POOF
Ten Shadow Clones appeared, and they all began meditating.
The slug seemed to be able to read his mind, as ten slugs appeared, each mounting one of the clones.
The slugs were there for one reason—to make sure his body didn't overload with Sage Chakra and turn to stone.
You know, the shit people are usually scared of.
"The hardest part of learning Sage Mode is sensing the Nature Energy. Once you get that step down, you'll be fine," she said from his shoulder.
He nodded his head and began to meditate.
Closing his eyes a bit, he spread his senses to the foreign energy.
He sat in a lotus position and began to meditate. He was doing fine.
With his eyes closed, he began sensing the Reishi around him. He took in a deep breath before slowly absorbing that energy into his body.
Slowly, he began absorbing more and more Nature Energy.
He didn't need to worry too much about absorbing too much, since Katsuyu was there, and she could release a liquid that would disperse the Nature Energy in him.
Hm. Yeah, he could feel it.
A weird symbol began forming around his eyes—what seemed to be the same seal Hashirama had appeared to form there for the boy, yet he was completely unaware of it.
He simply continued absorbing Nature Energy, trying to see if he could merge it with his own chakra.
'Incredible. This boy... it's only been four hours, and yet he can sense and absorb Nature Energy,' Katsuyu thought to herself. In that whole time, she only had to use the liquid four times—and it wasn't even on him, but on his clones.
He seemed to be doing just fine.
The way he absorbed the Nature Chakra almost felt like he used to be a sage—as if, at some point in his life, his whole body was made up of Nature Energy.
The way he seemed to absorb it so well...
He was showing remarkable progress in the art of becoming a Sage.
And thus, this continued for a whole week.
For twelve hours a day, the boy meditated. And when it was time to eat, he ate the bugs there. Sure, he didn't like them—but he'd had worse.
Military pills were ass, and since he could sense Nature Energy from the bugs he was given, he simply enjoyed them.
They weren't the best, but they kept him alive. And that was the purpose of food.
It didn't need to be delicious—its main purpose was giving you nutrients. And as long as that was met, he could, for the most part, ignore the taste... even if it tasted like straight ass.
Thus, for seven days, he repeated this cycle. Though with his ten clones, that seven days was closer to seventy days of straight training in Sage Arts.
On the seventh day...
As he sat down meditating once more...
So far, he had gotten the gist. It was like a seal.
So in his mind, he already visualized the process like one of his seals:
Chakra: High-density flow.
Nature Energy: Foreign input.
Merge Function: Auto-regulated sync matrix.
Output: Balanced Senjutsu Chakra.
As that input ran in his mind...
He had his solution.
He fused the chakra with his own.
And as he did so...
The transformation began.
🌿 Sage Mode: Slug Sage Transformation 🌿
Visual Appearance:
Eyes: His sclera became milky white with deep amethyst irises, ringed with pale blue spirals that glowed with soft, rhythmic pulses—mimicking the flow of natural chakra in living organisms.
Face Markings: Iridescent markings spread from the corners of his eyes, flowing like ink across his cheeks and forehead in slow-moving patterns. They resembled branching nerve or circulatory systems—like the internal webbing of a slug.
Skin: His skin gained a subtle shimmer, as if covered in a thin, moisture-rich layer—enhancing regeneration and sensory input. Close-up, microscopic runes swirled across the surface, visible only under chakra-sensing vision.
Aura: A faint haze surrounded him—an atmospheric presence made of vital aura. Grass beneath his feet became greener, small critters seemed drawn to him, and even wounded plants slowly healed near his presence.
He flexed his fingers.
So much power... becoming a Slug Sage was easier than he thought.
Lady Katsuyu, still on his shoulder, had her eyes wide.
Seven days... this was how long it took the boy to get the whole process down and become a Sage.
"Seijuro Kurama, the Slug Sage wishes to see you."
Hm. So the main body wished to see him. Okay, he could talk to the slugs. He wondered what kind of exclusive jutsu he was about to get from them. So far, Slug Sage Mode, while feeling a bit sticky—a tiny bit sticky—was manageable.
He could ignore it.
The power upgrade was more than enough.
And deep in his bones, he felt as if he could split... yes, like actually split into two people.
He had so much Yang Chakra in his body now... wait... Yang Chakra.
......
A/N: Anyway, I didn't find shit on slug sages, so I made this for their moves.
💧 Unique Traits of the Slug Sage Mode:
🧬 1. Cellular Regeneration Field
Allies within 15 meters of the Slug Sage gain enhanced passive healing, regenerating small wounds automatically and mitigating poison or chakra disruptions. This field is a byproduct of his stabilized Nature Chakra radiating in a bio-compatible pulse.
🐌 2. Mucosal Chakra Membrane
Seijuro can coat his body in a semi-solid mucus chakra membrane, similar to a slug's natural defense. It's nearly frictionless, disperses physical force, and can nullify up to mid-tier elemental jutsu on contact.
Bonus: It makes Genjutsu harder to land on him—the sensory haze it creates acts like a barrier against mental interference. (Basically, the coat gets hit with the Genjutsu, not him.)
🔄 3. Oozing Reversion Technique (Sage Art: Oozing Reversion)
By sacrificing a small amount of Sage Chakra, he can cause an enemy jutsu or attack to "revert" to its base form. For example, a Fireball might get snuffed into hot steam, or a Rasengan might just lose its spiral and dissipate. It doesn't work on everything, but it's a powerful defensive disruptor.
💠 4. Slug Mitosis
The user of Slug Sage Mode, like the Sage Slugs themselves, is able to clone themselves—creating a physical clone by splitting in two. By doing this, the user's strength is reduced by half, but the clones are physical, capable of bleeding and dying. If one clone dies, their chakra and soul return to the surviving one.
💢 5. Sage Art: Thousand Digestive Threads
A devastating technique where Seijuro summons thousands of microscopic chakra threads that mimic the acidic, absorptive feeding system of slugs. These threads pierce through solid objects and chakra-based defenses to slowly erode them—be it jutsu, barriers, or armor.
They can also extract chakra from an enemy's body on contact—making this one of the most terrifying Sage Jutsu for prolonged combat.
