Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Basic Attributes

The heavy rain lasted an entire day, only easing up by evening. The valley had turned into a vast expanse of water, leaving one to wonder how those Little Demons had managed to avoid the torrential downpour and flash floods.

Regardless, Wang Wu was quite pleased. By the end of the day, he had taken down twelve wandering Mantis Blade Masters, nine lost Butterfly Boys, and an additional homeless Hedgehog.

However, he hadn't encountered a single Gray Mouse Knight. Those Gray Rats were pretty cunning.

As for himself, thanks to the Level 3 Self-Healing Talent, he had consumed a total of 450 points of Satiety, smoothly healing his wounds, restoring his Life Value to full in just three hours.

The speed was quite remarkable.

Wang Wu also noticed that after upgrading the Self-Healing Talent, the speed and efficiency of healing had greatly increased, but it also required more Satiety, appearing to be proportional.

Otherwise, previously with the Level 2 Self-Healing, he would have only consumed 300 points of Satiety and healed completely in six to seven hours.

"So, staying well-fed is really important."

"So now, which Talent should I upgrade next?"

Wang Wu pondered. With the rain pouring all day, having nothing else to do, he devoured the second Fire Scorpion Priest's corpse, not only gaining 300 points of Satiety but also acquiring 25 points of Spirit Essence, improving ordinary Flame Resistance by one point again, and increasing Growth by 0.5%.

Once his Life Value was fully restored, he received an additional point of Flame Resistance, bringing his overall Flame Resistance to a level of 4/10.

The total Growth reached 15.7%.

Not bad at all.

Considering the remaining 12 points of Spirit Essence, he now has a total of 37 points of Spirit Essence, enough for another upgrade.

"Level 5 Concealment has already reached the maximum unless I grow to the next stage."

"Currently, I've upgraded both Self-Healing and Danger Perception to Level 3. The effects are undoubtedly excellent, and their importance is also very high, but I must combine reality and consider comprehensively."

Wang Wu pondered carefully, just like how he never competes for the Golden Three Minutes because it doesn't match his overall strength at this stage.

Even the Spiritual Talent, he intended to temporarily set aside and not upgrade.

"If the rain stops tomorrow, I can continue to upgrade Danger Perception and Self-Healing. Otherwise, I'll have no choice but to enhance Basic Attributes."

His eyes roamed the attribute bar, glancing at the persistent rain outside, still feeling uneasy, mainly because he didn't trust the Gray Rat Race, with those five White Rats being a distinctive presence throughout the valley.

The Black Snake Race was powerful before, but their territory was confined to the cliff top, unable to expand to other areas of the valley.

Similarly, the Flame Scorpion Race, although occupying the cliff, clearly did not foresee this heavy rain and had to divide their forces, with even two Fire Scorpion Priests seeking shelter in the rock crevices.

In contrast, the White Rats alongside the Gray Rat Race.

Five White Rats occupied a small, inconspicuous hill.

However, the Gray Rat Race occupied a vast stretch of shrubbery, measuring about 500 meters long and 200 meters wide, indicating their potential for warfare and economic growth.

At that moment, Wang Wu couldn't help but ponder negatively, wondering if the Gray Rat Race's sudden friendliness towards him three days ago was truly out of helplessness?

Or perhaps the five White Rats had a different style of operation.

If they could predict Wang Wu's eventual attempt to reclaim the rock crevice, wouldn't it be like a bizarre scenario of watching tigers fight from the mountains?

Chilling, indeed!

Thinking of this made Wang Wu somewhat restless.

He quickly made a decision to increase his Defense!

His original Defense was 5 points, and after using up 20 points of Spirit Essence, it became 6 points.

The entire process wasn't particularly magical, just a sensation of warmth dispersing from his abdomen and rapidly infusing into his bones, making him feel just a bit stronger?

Wang Wu waved his little paw with a hint of doubt, not noticing any apparent change.

Upon reconsideration, he decisively devoured another Scorpion Sentinel, causing his Satiety to overflow to 380 points, leaving him somewhat immobile.

What's worse, his Level 5 Concealment Talent temporarily reduced to Level 3 Concealment.

Danger Perception would also drop to Level 2.

Indeed, binge eating isn't beneficial.

Wang Wu chuckled bitterly, but luckily, the problem wasn't severe. This Scorpion Sentinel provided him with 5.9 points of Spirit Essence, which combined with the remaining 17 points, was just enough for another upgrade.

This time, after some hesitation, he decided to continue upgrading Defense, improving it to 7 points.

A warm flow surged through him, filling every limb and bone, making the vague sense of strength much clearer and hardening his bones noticeably.

He attempted to bump against the rock with his body and could easily perceive the difference.

Previously, his bones seemed soft, with no support, and his little paw felt weak when scratching a tree, let alone leaving marks on the stone.

But now, when Wang Wu extended his little paw, although its shape and size appeared unchanged, the hardness was unmistakably evident to those in the know.

Such a swipe could potentially break through the Black Snake Priest's Snake Scale, he mused.

Grinning smugly, Wang Wu decided not to stay idle, as he felt too uncomfortable, and instead hopped around in the rock crevice in the dark, treating it as a chance to familiarize himself with the terrain.

Speaking of which, the terrain within this rock crevice was quite complex.

Initially, he bounced around with his eyes open, but after familiarizing himself, he attempted to jump with his eyes closed, committing every detail to memory.

Once he reached a point where he could navigate the rock crevice with ease, crazily hopping without hitting any walls, the overflow of 80 points of Satiety was finally exhausted.

"Phew!"

Exhaling deeply, Wang Wu found a spot to sit down. He stayed silent for three seconds, entering Level 5 Concealment, and swiftly drifted into dreamland, with the accompaniment of the pitter-pattering of rain.

Nothing unusual happened that night, but when Wang Wu awoke again, he discovered the temperature had dropped slightly, with a drizzle still falling outside. White mist enveloped the entire valley, seeping into the rock crevice, making everything damp.

Another 300 points of Satiety vanished, replaced by a 0.5% increase in Growth, bringing the total Growth to 16.2%. The sensation of having grown slightly stronger became increasingly noticeable.

Wang Wu felt that if he had precise measurement units, he should be able to measure a slight increase in his length, height, and weight, akin to how children grow a bit every month. This growth was continuous and not something that would transform him only upon reaching 100% Growth.

So, if his assumptions were correct, there would be a more significant change upon reaching 20% Growth.

He was eagerly anticipating it.
