Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Truly Top-Tier

"I'm selling secondary consumables, you guys will definitely need them."

Wang Zhifan wasn't surprised at all when he heard this. In today's society, where player communities have developed within the inner layers for three to five years, ordinary player items are basically equivalent to garbage. Fine Layer items hold some value but aren't precious. However, one type of player item is always in demand, whether ordinary or fine: the consumable items Wang Zhifan brought this time — firearm ammunition!

Don't think this is a modern civilization where anyone can manufacture bullets, making them not special. In reality, bullets in the real world aren't rare, but players can't use real-world ammunition in instances. From beginning to end, players can only bring their initial equipment or loot into instances!

Otherwise, Xia Country, as an industrially advanced nation, could equip its official players with various high-tech weapons to sweep through the instances.

But in reality, this cannot be done because real weapons can't be packed into a player's personal space; carrying them directly would make them disappear upon entering an instance. Only the initial equipment obtained when they became players, and the looted chest equipment, won't face similar problems.

Therefore, for the very popular and powerful gunner profession in player communities, having a high-quality firearm is crucial, but even more important is ensuring enough ammunition supply. Otherwise, gunners with empty magazines become weaker than cannon-fodder melee fighters!

So when Wang Zhifan chose his reward after finishing today's instance, he picked a box of bullets for this reason. The numerous gunner profession players definitely won't reject having more ammunition, especially those affluent high-level players who prefer using high-quality low-production ammo!

"Alright, sir, please follow me."

The woman in the black professional attire quickly escorted Wang Zhifan to the upper level of the player mall, taking him to a showroom different from the lower level.

When Wang Zhifan arrived here, he found the showroom quite lively, with about ten people walking around talking near the display cases.

Wang Zhifan soon noticed that the items in these display cases were genuine player items, ranging from melee weapons, firearms, and ammunition to armors and potions. Among them were ordinary and fine layer items, with only one rare item placed prominently in the center display case as the highlight.

"Wow, your player mall has some power, managing to get a rare submachine gun. But the price is way too high! Six million three hundred thousand currency! You could buy a decent house in the capital with that!"

At this moment, a young man with dyed yellow hair exaggeratedly complained to the male attendant in front of him, probably just introduced to the 'treasure of the town.'

"Heh, sir, you're underestimating our player mall."

The attendant laughed slightly at the young man's reaction and continued:

"Rare items are good, but they aren't the top tier for our player mall. Last year, our main store in the capital sold an Epic Layer weapon for a transaction price of one billion. Now that's truly high-grade stuff..."

The attendant spoke half-braggingly, as if part of the weapon sales proceeds was shared with him. Wang Zhifan passing by couldn't help but feel a slight astonishment upon hearing this.

"Epic Layer weapons... according to forum discussions, this tier is above Rare Layer... to think an Epic Layer weapon can sell for a billion, isn't the value of those above Epic Layer even more extraordinary?"

Despite Wang Zhifan only encountering ordinary, fine, and rare items, player item tiers are not limited to just these three levels. Above the rare tier is the scarcer Epic Layer, and then above Epic, as the player forums call it, is the exceedingly rare Legendary Layer, with maybe only a few worldwide. Above Legendary Layer, according to high-level player speculations, there's potentially higher-tier equipment, possibly more than one level; however, no one can confirm that. According to leaks, the highest equipment ever looted globally is Legendary Layer.

Wang Zhifan followed the female attendant, preparing to enter an inner room for negotiating transaction prices with dedicated personnel.

Just as Wang Zhifan was about to enter, a few people suddenly arrived at the upper level of the player showroom, causing a minor disturbance.

They were led by a wealthy-looking young man in high-end casual wear, and six bodyguards around him, all wearing suits and looking sharp, surrounded him.

Anyone observing carefully would notice that all these bodyguards are equipped with modern firepower in their pockets and wearing custom-made bulletproof vests, likely ready to shield their boss from bullets at any time.

The distinguished young man himself didn't make any unusual actions; he merely walked around expressionlessly within the showroom, quickly surveying the various player equipment displayed. Primarily, his six heavily armed bodyguards were intimidating, driving other customers to the corners, causing some annoyed but silent.

Wang Zhifan, a bit curious, glanced back at them. He noticed the male attendant inside the showroom appeared slightly dazed but soon put on a smiling face ready to approach.

However, before he got close to the young man, one of the bodyguards stopped him and said:

"Please clear the venue, my young master has booked this place. We will compensate for any losses."

"May I ask who you are..."

The male attendant felt a bit at a loss with this request. Not knowing this group, he couldn't immediately comply with such domineering instruction.

But before the attendant could hesitate for two seconds, the leisurely young man suddenly spoke:

"No need, Wei, only this submachine gun is good here; buy it, then let's check elsewhere."

The wealthy-looking young man turned away after speaking, heading toward the exit, while his bodyguards hurriedly made way to protect him.

As for the bodyguard called Wei, he had started writing a check to purchase the showroom's 'treasure,' and in no time, the rare submachine gun vanished from his hand. Clearly, he was also a player, storing it in his personal space.
