The bard accepted the shield, gripping the wooden handle and standing in place with a tense posture, movements somewhat stiff.

"Try to hit it, using different strengths."

Bain nodded, putting himself in position, "Bard, watch out."

The bard gritted his teeth, holding the shield with both hands, aiming at Bain.

Bain took two steps forward, then slammed into it.

The shield thumped dully, the bard remained unfazed, not flushed nor breathless, his stance stable.

Clearly, Bain was holding back due to camaraderie.

"More force!" Luo De urged.

Bain stepped back and charged again.

Bang!

This time, the sound of impact was louder, the bard's face flushed red, but he still held his ground firmly.

"Hmm?"

This time Luo De did not speak, Bain instead voiced his confusion.
