Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Looking Down on Others

"What do you mean by robbing? This is a society ruled by law. I'm just asking you, not robbing!" Bao sneered.

"Asking?" Lin Tian laughed, "And what if I say no?"

"No? Do you think you can go back to school today?" Bao threw the cigarette butt on the ground and stomped on it hard.

"I'll just walk back today, try to stop me if you can!" Lin Tian taunted.

Amid all the information were many cultivation techniques, plus his strength had inexplicably increased; now Lin Tian had the confidence to talk back to Bao.

1V1, he truly didn't take him seriously.

"You little brat, I'm going to kill you today!" Bao intended to stall for time until help arrived but was thoroughly enraged by Lin Tian and lost his judgment.

Bao charged forward, his fist aiming straight at Lin Tian's face.

But to Lin Tian's surprise, Bao's movements appeared unusually slow to him.

Before Bao's fist could connect, Lin Tian unleashed a powerful kick with his right leg.

Weighing 180 pounds, Bao had a clear sense of his weight, yet with just one kick from Lin Tian, he flew backwards three meters, crashing heavily into a tree on the roadside.

"Come on! Weren't you going to kill me?" Lin Tian maintained a calm facade but was terrified inside.

He had just gambled on the hope that his body had changed, and he won the gamble.

Kicking a fat guy into the air with such strength was truly frightening.

"How is this possible!" Bao sat on the ground, stupefied.

Having mixed in society for so many years, Bao had some confidence in his skills and strength, yet upon contact, he was sent flying.

It's worth noting, Lin Tian was just a student; Bao had decades more experience, yet he couldn't beat him.

"Still want to fight? If not, I'm leaving!" Lin Tian casually put his hands in his pockets, not daring to linger, fearing Bao would call for backup.

He's fine with one-on-one, but a gang fight was a different story.

"If you're so capable, don't leave, wait for my people to arrive!" Bao staggered to his feet, pointing at Lin Tian's nose, shouting.

"Are you stupid or am I stupid? Why would I wait for your people?" Lin Tian paid no mind to Bao and walked straight on.

"This really pisses me off!" Bao was humiliated, trying again to stop Lin Tian not just for his pride but for the ten thousand in his pocket, and lunged again.

Wanting a quick battle, Lin Tian threw a full-force uppercut straight to Bao's chin.

Bao's vision went black, pain shot through his jaw, and his whole body arched upwards, then... nothing more, as he collapsed into unconsciousness on the ground.

The power of one punch rendered Bao unconscious.

This scene terrified Lin Tian; what if he had killed him?

He broke into a run, eager to leave this troublesome place.

After running far, Lin Tian incredibly wasn't out of breath and his heartbeat remained steady; his physical condition was unbelievably strong.

"So, how will I spend this ten thousand?" Lin Tian stood pondering.

"I'll buy an Apple phone!" Lin Tian quickly decided.

Heading straight to the nearest mall, Lin Tian wandered around the mobile phone counters in his school uniform.

However, after making a round, Lin Tian was surprised to find that not a single attendant was willing to engage him.

He was completely ignored, as if he were a poor student who couldn't afford a phone.

"Hey, do you have an iPhone 7 here?" Lin Tian approached a saleswoman who had just seen off a customer.

"Yes!" The saleswoman responded without even glancing at Lin Tian, dismissively.

"Can I take a look?"

"Can you afford it? We have phones here for a few hundred, do you want to take a look?" the saleswoman remarked suddenly.

In one sentence Lin Tian understood why he was being ignored, these people underestimated him, assuming he couldn't afford an iPhone!

"No need, I only want an iPhone 7!" Lin Tian, displeased by the saleswoman's attitude, turned to walk away.

"Another spoiled student squandering their parents' money!" the saleswoman cursed at Lin Tian's retreating figure.

Since that saleswoman refused to sell, Lin Tian had to approach the counter across.

On the other side was a young girl who seemed not much older than Lin Tian; he asked, "Do you have iPhones here?"

"Yes, are you buying?" The young girl glanced at Lin Tian, a bit surprised but still polite.

"Get me an iPhone 7 to check out!" Lin Tian made his request.

The young saleswoman was quite straightforward, immediately fetching an iPhone 7 for Lin Tian and kindly advised, "You really don't need such an advanced phone as a student. There are many other choices!"

"Thank you for your concern, but I'll take this one!" Lin Tian pulled out ten thousand yuan from his pocket, "How much is this one?"

"Rose gold, 128G, costs 5999!" The young saleswoman's eyes sparkled at the sight of Lin Tian's money and quickly quoted the price.

Lin Tian counted out sixty bills and handed them to the saleswoman, "Could you also get me a phone card?"

The young saleswoman took the money excitedly, happy to help Lin Tian with the phone card, knowing that selling an iPhone 7 would earn her a commission of nearly five hundred yuan, how could she not be pleased?

With his newly purchased iPhone 7, Lin Tian left the counter, catching the attention of the previously rude saleswoman.

Lin Tian intentionally flaunted the rose gold iPhone 7 in a show of provocation, conveying the message 'Never judge a book by its cover, I can afford it.'

The rude saleswoman froze upon seeing the phone in Lin Tian's hand, soon stomping her foot in agitation.

She wasn't upset because Lin Tian bought an iPhone 7.

She was mad at herself for dismissing him earlier; if only she had been more attentive, she could have earned that commission instead.

Now it's too late; she handed over the opportunity to someone else.

Regret, such deep regret!

With ten thousand spent on an iPhone 7, a pair of Nike sneakers, and a brand new tracksuit.

Keeping two thousand as living expenses, Lin Tian was satisfied as he returned to school.

It was evening self-study for the third-year class one of Kanyue City Third Middle School.

As Lin Tian entered the classroom, all eyes turned to him.

Because Lin Tian wasn't a top student, his seat was in the back row, reflecting a student's status in the class.

The better students were seated upfront, while those struggling sat further back.

As he walked past to his seat in the back, Lin Tian's sharp hearing picked up whispers from others.

"Heard Li Li dumped Lin Tian for a rich boyfriend!"

"Li Li did the right thing, someone like Lin Tian who isn't good at studies, has no money or background, won't go far in life!"

"Know why he was hospitalized this time? Heard it was Li Li's new boyfriend who beat him up!"

"That's their business; we better focus on our studies, the final exams are coming up!"
