John didn't even see the text information clearly before pain flared in his ears, and a shadow eclipsed his entire view.
Coming to his senses, Scab Dog was already close to him.
The two-meter-tall brute lowered his head, stretched his neck, and brought a distorted, confused giant face close, his skin twitching, drooling.
John widened his eyes, meeting his gaze.
Scab Dog's prosthetic eye was inches away, each detail magnified—it had an irregular iris, looking like fibrous deposits, surrounded by pinprick spots of light.
These eyes were unsettling, the visual processor didn't perform any "recognition."
