On the Acadia River, boats carrying tree bark headed downstream to the papermaking workshops.

Carriages transported grains and meats from the cellars or warehouses to the kitchen to prepare today's lunch.

On the red brick pavement, some townspeople watched the lord, dressed in black armor and draped in a black cloak, with eyes full of admiration.

They all stopped walking and bowed.
