Chapter 6 - Chapter 4: Mr. Ling

At three years old, You Su wielded a sword and has practiced for fifteen years. He cannot see, but his perception of the sword far exceeds that of his peers. His opponent may have a higher cultivation than him and is reliant on their overwhelming Qi force, only launching the simplest sword moves.

You Su has thrust this kind of strike over a hundred thousand times, making his response smooth and effortless. Unfortunately, You Su's hand holds no sword.

In a flash, the sword light howled toward him. How could You Su be captured easily? Just when the old Immortal Master thought victory was assured, You Su suddenly moved all his Profound Qi throughout his body to his feet and faced the attack.

Faced with an inescapable thrust, the best solution was to find a way to subdue the weapon in the opponent's hand!

You Su turned his palm into a sword, with a "snap," wedging into the protruding bone of the old Immortal Master's right wrist. The old Immortal Master wielded his sword in his right hand, intending to slash downward upon failing the thrust, but discovered the boy's position was perfect, preventing the blade from moving down even an inch.

You Su's actions did not cease; his left hand clenched into a fist, wrapped in the strongest force he could muster, and struck the old Immortal Master's elbow.

The old Immortal Master was astonished! He realized this blind boy not only was not intimidated by his pressure but attempted to disarm his sword with bare hands! If his right hand were bent, his entire forearm would fall into the boy's grip, making it effortless to disarm him.

Despite being an Immortal Master at the Middle Condensed Water Realm, if his sword were taken by a youth who had just broken through to the Spirit Platform Realm, how could he maintain his dignity? He realized he had underestimated this boy, but his sword technique was not his greatest asset!

You Su's left fist landed, yet the elder's arm did not bend as desired. This carefully planned punch felt like a clay ox entering the sea, hopeless.

The old Immortal Master shouted loudly:

"Retreat!"

A powerful force suddenly surged from the old Immortal Master's body. Even though You Su prepared and resisted with all his Profound Qi, it was useless. He was shaken several meters away, losing his close combat opportunity.

This success was merely due to the opponent's complacency. Moreover, the old Immortal Master's sword skills were average; he didn't use his sword when expelling evil but instead wielded Qi to injure the enemy, indicating his greater proficiency in Qi Control Skill.

You Su understood that a Great Cultivator at least in the Condensed Water Realm would make any attempt to approach him no more than a fantasy if they fully wielded their Qi.

Cultivators worldwide bear a Spirit Vein, absorbing Heavenly Profound Qi to practice cultivation. The Profound Vein, Foundation Establishment Platform, Condensing Profound Water, and the more mysterious states beyond all rely on Profound Qi as the fundamental basis.

The utilization of Qi is divided into two main streams: one is the various Immortal Techniques based on controlling Profound Qi, such as Earth Bursting Celestial Star, Tree Realm Descent, and numerous Taoist arts; the other attaches Qi to external objects for greater effect, ranging from Sword Cultivation, Alchemy Cultivation, and Talisman Cultivation in various sect practices.

The two do not conflict, but there are inherent talents in these paths.

The old Immortal Master, mindful of the past, mostly transformed his Profound Qi into Protective Gang Qi, dispersing much of the prior heavy pressure. You Su reacted swiftly, finding himself shaken to a relatively safe distance by the Immortal Master. He stabilized, then withdrew his Qi movement.

This path back to the sect, paved with green bricks, he had walked thousands of times, especially after that arrogant and fierce master left. Alone, he encountered countless instances of peer cultivators blocking and excluding him.

You Su never retaliated, only tried to escape, understanding that defeating the young ones would incite the older ones, especially those waiting with pent-up anger for a reason to strike. Over the years, no matter his position on this path, You Su could instantly plan a reasonable escape route.

The old Immortal Master didn't expect You Su to flee so decisively, clearly resisting one moment, then turning to run the next. His actions flowed seamlessly, whether anticipated or an in-battle inspiration, proving this boy is no simple character.

However, the old Immortal Master remained composed, his demeanor calm. He pinched an orchid pose with his hand; his sleeves flared without wind, his lips moved: "The sun rises in the east, dark masses surging. Mountains before, waters behind, a dragon left, a tiger right."

"Stop!"

A loud word echoed. You Su suddenly found his rear leg as heavy as a ten thousand-pound stone, unable to lift it. Upon careful feeling, he realized his whole body was unusually rigid, unable to move, as if bound by a thousand iron chains.

You Su drove his Qi as a sword, trying to sever these invisible shackles. Two breaths later, he found the immobilization force suddenly dispersed, regaining his mobility, but he no longer attempted to flee. Instead, he stood straight and leisurely smoothed his black robe because he knew he couldn't escape.

Within those short two breaths, it was enough time for the old Immortal Master to slowly move within close range of You Su.

The elder's gaze was blazing as he remarked with surprise:

"Even cultivators at the Condensed Water Realm are immobilized for a moment by my spell, yet you, a rookie, broke through in two breaths, and being blind, indeed have some means."

"Respectfully mistaken, it's only because senior showed mercy." You Su replied calmly, neither arrogant nor self-effacing.

"Oh? You know I was testing you?" The old Immortal Master's gaze hardened with amazement.

"If senior truly wished to subdue me, you would have finished me and that evil spirit together long ago, rather than speak before striking."

"Your eyes are obscured by dust, yet your heart is as clear as a mirror." The Immortal Master stroked his long beard, "Why did you choose to flee?"

You Su raised his head with a gentle smile, directly looking at the Immortal Master, "I know, in senior's eyes, I'm like meat on a chopping board. But sitting and waiting for death is simply not my style."

The old Immortal Master met You Su's dispersed gaze, as though seeing an unfathomable deep pool, feeling compelled to show admiration. Yet this quickly disappeared, as he said seriously, "Unfortunately, you are unaware of disaster approaching."

You Su was no fool. During their brief confrontation, he realized one thing—the innate blindness might not be total, instead allowing him to see those strange "dirty things," already giving him some clues.

"I can't grasp your meaning, senior."

"Do you truly not understand, or choose not to?" The old Immortal Master closed his eyes briefly, shaking his head as though in pity.

You Su raised his hand to salute, speaking solemnly, "Please guide me, senior."

"I am Mr. Ling from Spirit Treasure Sect at Henggao Divine Mountain. From where do you hail?"

"Reporting to Mr. Ling, I am You Su."

Mr. Ling looked at the boy with a sense of helplessness. Despite the conversation reaching this point, this jade-like boy remained defensive, only revealing a name and not his origins. Could he really intend to stubbornly continue on his self-destructive path?

You Su was also taken aback. He hadn't expected this elder to be an Immortal Master from the Divine Mountain.

Before this, the only cultivator he knew connected to the Divine Mountain was the old City Lord of Chuyun City.

It's essential to know that this old City Lord was merely an outer disciple of the Profound Sky Sect, the primary sect of the Divine Mountain. Because he had no hope of breakthrough and didn't want to lose sect resources, he was dispatched to this remote location to become a City Lord.
