Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Three-Month Deadline

Manluo Bar!

The violent heavy metal music made people's ears buzz as if a stimulant was being injected, igniting every cell inside, boiling the blood and reaching an extreme state of excitement.

Men and women were wildly swaying their bodies on the dance floor, dancing passionately, as if they wanted to burn all the hormones inside them.

In the dark corners, there were even pairs of men and women doing indescribable things.

Jiang Chuan, dressed in simple casual wear, sat at the bar, holding a glass of blue cocktail in his hand, resembling the night sky, with a silver stripe like the Milky Way in the blue.

The vast starry sky, beautiful, unknown, and mysterious.

He leaned on the bar, gazing at the young men and women dancing energetically on the dance floor.

"Xiaochuan."

At this moment, a kindly voice sounded in Jiang Chuan's ear. He turned his head to see two men standing beside him. One looked about fifty, wearing a stylish suit and exuding an air of authority.

Behind him stood a burly man emitting a dangerous aura. From Jiang Chuan's perspective, he was undoubtedly an expert.

"Uncle Qiu." Jiang Chuan stood up and said.

Qiu Weiming stepped forward, sat down beside Jiang Chuan, looked at him benevolently, and smiled, "Xiaochuan, it's so late. You wanted to meet me. What do you want to discuss?"

"I want to talk to you about Qianyu." Jiang Chuan hesitated a bit before finally speaking.

Qiu Weiming looked at Jiang Chuan.

Jiang Chuan took a deep breath and recounted the events of yesterday and today, speaking candidly without exaggeration, informing Qiu Weiming truthfully.

"Oh?"

Hearing this, Qiu Weiming's eyes narrowed slightly, a cold light flashing by.

"Uncle Qiu, after interacting with Qianyu for a few days, I found that we are not suitable for each other. I want to divorce Qianyu and hope you will agree." Jiang Chuan straightforwardly expressed his thoughts.

Jiang Chuan returned from abroad to Yanbei City because his grandfather arranged a wife for him. He had opposed it, but his objections were generally ineffective.

Reluctantly, Jiang Chuan registered his marriage with Qiu Qianyu, with the thought of giving it a try. If they developed feelings, they would spend their lives together; if not, they would separate.

But in the past two days, their conflicts intensified, and he could see that Qiu Qianyu didn't like him at all, with no affection towards him.

Since that was the case, it was better to divorce early rather than hurt each other.

"Sigh…"

Qiu Weiming sighed, his expression becoming serious. He said, "Xiaochuan, Qianyu is a stubborn and strong-willed girl. But inherently, she is not bad and did not intend to hurt you. I hope you can be more tolerant. If Qianyu is at fault, I will have her apologize to you."

"Uncle Qiu, I…"

Jiang Chuan was interrupted by Qiu Weiming before he could finish speaking. Qiu Weiming said sternly, "Xiaochuan, your mother-in-law and I are often not in Yanbei City. She has no siblings around her to support, just you as a relative, so I hope you can take care of her more. Besides, there's no overnight grudge between husband and wife. As you mentioned, some people are eyeing her with ill intentions. You are her husband. Do you want to watch her enter the lion's den?"

"I…"

"Xiaochuan, I understand your thoughts. There are misunderstandings and conflicts between you, but they can be resolved. Her current lack of affection for you doesn't mean there won't be any in the future. I believe you have this charm."

Qiu Weiming looked intently at Jiang Chuan and said, "Regardless of everything, I, Qiu Weiming, only recognize you as my son-in-law."

"Uncle Qiu, I understand everything you said and I understand." Jiang Chuan smiled wryly but firmly expressed, "But I still hope you can agree to my divorce with Qianyu."

Qiu Weiming frowned deeply, looking intently at Jiang Chuan, and said, "Are you firm?"

"Very firm," Jiang Chuan nodded seriously.

Seeing Jiang Chuan's resolute stance, Qiu Weiming understood Jiang Chuan's attitude. Of course, he also knew his daughter's temper. Jiang Chuan's firmness must be closely related to his daughter's cold attitude.

Silence.

Jiang Chuan and Qiu Weiming fell into silence.

After a long time, Qiu Weiming finally spoke, "Xiaochuan, if you are determined to divorce Qianyu, I can agree to it. But you have to agree to one condition of mine."

"What condition?" Jiang Chuan looked at Qiu Weiming.

"Three months."

Qiu Weiming also looked at Jiang Chuan and said solemnly, "I'll give you three months. If there's no breakthrough in your relationship within three months, I'll agree to the divorce. But, if there's a breakthrough in your relationship during these three months, don't mention divorce again. Even if you do, I won't agree."

"How do you feel about this?"

"Okay, then three months," Jiang Chuan nodded. He saw Qiu Weiming's firm attitude and knew clearly that even if he persisted, Qiu Weiming wouldn't allow him to divorce Qiu Qianyu.

To be given a three-month deadline was already the biggest concession.

Three months is neither long nor short, so let's hold on a bit.
