Chapter 25 - Chapter 21: The Policewoman's First Kiss

During breakfast, Xia Wenxue wore a frosty expression, not even glancing at Ren Feng, especially whenever she heard him asking for another bowl. It infuriated her.

"Mr. Yun, this porridge is really good. I'll have another bowl."

"Mr. Yun, this egg is nice, I'll have another."

"Mr. Yun, are there any more fried dough sticks?"

"Uh, Mr. Yun, why are you looking at me like that? I'm full, I won't eat anymore."

Ren Feng chuckled, and when he looked at Xia Wenxue, he saw her standing up and walking out.

Sharing the table with Ren Feng, she was probably already fed up with anger.

"Xue'xue, be careful on the road."

Ren Feng shouted from behind, causing Xia Wenxue to nearly stumble. She turned around and glared at Ren Feng.

After breakfast, Mr. Yun started clearing up, and Ren Feng leisurely sauntered out of the villa.

Xia Wenxue's villa was in the New District, a place with a nice environment, and it was just about twenty minutes from Wenfeng Road.

Walking a bit from the villa area led to the most famous commercial street in Jiangnan City — Jade Bay Street, named because there was a river beside it.

Jiangnan's economy was highly developed, with several commercial streets throughout the city, and Jade Bay Street was the busiest.

Strolling onto the street, there weren't many people yet, given it was still morning.

"Not bad, that girl is pretty." Ren Feng watched as several girls passed by.

"This one's nice too, though her legs are a bit thick."

While Ren Feng was wandering, he suddenly noticed a familiar figure ahead.

Bai Xiaoyue!

What's this girl up to?

Ren Feng's curiosity piqued. Today, Bai Xiaoyue was not wearing a police uniform but casual clothes, her ponytail making her look vividly youthful.

Moreover, from behind, Bai Xiaoyue's petite hips and straight beautiful legs were quite intriguing.

Ren Feng quietly followed her and discovered that Bai Xiaoyue seemed to be tailing someone. The guy looked sneaky, apparently unaware of being tracked.

Bai Xiaoyue was trailing the person from a distance, but after a turn, she lost sight of him.

This made Bai Xiaoyue anxious, and she hurried on, only to see the person's figure rounding a street corner in the distance.

Bai Xiaoyue's steps quickened; the man belonged to a big theft gang in Jiangnan City, involved in over a dozen cases, and possibly linked to a child trafficking case, but their hideout remained undiscovered.

The person in front was a thief member identified after much investigation, so Bai Xiaoyue aimed to trace them back and bust the entire gang!

Ren Feng shook his head. Silly girl, doesn't she realize she's been noticed and that they're luring her somewhere secluded?

Jade Bay Street was bustling indeed, but it also led to several residential areas with maze-like alleyways, perfect spots for thieves.

Moreover, Jade Bay Street had the most red-light districts in Jiangnan City.

Ten minutes later, Bai Xiaoyue unwittingly found herself in an unfamiliar place. She intended to catch up, but the thief suddenly turned back.

A hint of vigilance appeared in Bai Xiaoyue's eyes.

"Hey, girl, following me for so long, have you fallen for me, wanting to throw yourself at me?"

A lewd expression flashed across the thief's face.

"You're under arrest."

Bai Xiaoyue was highly cautious, her hand poised near the cuffs on her waist, ready to apprehend him at any moment.

"Oh, so you're a cop."

The thief laughed but showed no fear.

"Boys, the cop has come to us on her own."

With a shout, suddenly, countless people appeared from the surrounding alleys, instantly encircling Bai Xiaoyue.

A trace of unease flickered in Bai Xiaoyue's heart, and she quickly scolded, "What do you intend to do?"

"Do what? Isn't it obvious facing such a lovely lady, what we're up to?"

A thief laughed heartily, followed by a roar of laughter from the others.

There were more than thirty men surrounding her, so what if Bai Xiaoyue was a cop—would they be afraid?

Especially since Bai Xiaoyue was just a female cop, and such a pretty one at that, clearly not much for fighting.

"If you surrender now, there's still a chance for leniency. Don't be obstinate."

Bai Xiaoyue shouted loudly, but inside she was a bit tense; with so many people, she might not win.

"Pretty cop, come, arrest me, I surrender, only to put you in bed." One thief laughed.

"Come arrest me, if you catch me, I'll let you have your way." Another thief egged on.

"Hmph."

Bai Xiaoyue snorted coldly, swiftly considering her countermeasures.

The thieves had formed a circle, enclosing Bai Xiaoyue alone in the center.

Bai Xiaoyue stayed on high alert, sensing someone creeping up from behind. She swiftly turned, her long leg fiercely sweeping back, hitting the person and forcing them to retreat.

"Haha, Zhao, you got knocked back by a woman!" Others laughed heartily.

"Let me try!"

Another thief stepped forward, chuckling, rubbing his hands, suddenly lunging at Bai Xiaoyue.
