Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Foreigner and the Crimson Dream

The carriage carrying the two of them rocked slightly, and shortly after, the coachman's fearful voice came from the window.

"Lord Roland, this beast no longer dares to move forward..."

The coachman whipped at the foreleg of the kneeling steed, trembling as he said, "We're nearing the shore."

Lin Lan ignored the dejected Charles, he was the first to get off the carriage, casting his gaze towards the dock of the small town.

The sound of the waves was low, the sea breeze was bleak, and the shore was in a mess.

The wooden dock extending towards the sea was nowhere to be seen, the ground was riddled with massive dents, which had formed deep water pits under the scouring of the sea waves.

Charles's two cargo ships were stranded on the shore, more accurately, one and a half cargo ships.

It was as if some monster had greedily devoured this space, opening its mouth wide to swallow half a cargo ship, the entire dock, and the sand on the shore into its belly.

And the aftermath of the Celestial Calamity had yet to dissipate.

This area continuously emitted a fear-inducing aura, an extreme 'instability'.

Lin Lan inexplicably thought of the glass walkway in a scenic spot from his previous life, this space at this moment was like the glass underfoot, connecting to the invisible cliff.

Unlike the scenic spot, the 'glass' here truly shatters.

At this moment, Lin Lan finally realized the danger of the Celestial Calamity, his heart involuntarily trembling.

For a fleeting moment, Lin Lan truly had the thought of fleeing the shore, but considering the serious consequences of escape, his gaze calmed down again.

Once he chooses to flee the town, the maritime Celestial Calamity would mercilessly engulf all the civilians in the town!

Compared to such cruel consequences, losing some secondary quest items is instead a minor issue.

Lin Lan didn't consider himself a saint, in theory, even living elsewhere, he would still be a noble of the Lion Heart Kingdom, still have humble civilians at his beck and call.

But Lin Lan couldn't bear to eat the bread soaked in people's blood with peace of mind.

Since the civilians of this territory provide for his food and clothing, in times of crisis, he would certainly take responsibility.

Therefore, he is forever the Foreigner Lin Lan, not the Lion Heart noble Roland Howard.

Lin Lan began to walk towards the sea.

Step by step.

The gray-haired young man strolled alone along the darkened coastline, letting the sea breeze ruffle his tousled hair, letting the mud and sand dirty his feet.

Witnessing this, everyone widened their eyes in astonishment.

"The scorching sun above..." murmured Old Karl from not far away, a little girl beside him clutched an anxious seabird, staring unblinkingly at the back of the young lord.

Her pointed ears twitched slightly.

At this very moment, every living thing on the shore could still feel that strong palpitation, that was the proof the Celestial Calamity had not yet departed.

Why would the noble Lord willingly go to the most dangerous place?

Lord Roland must have gone mad!

The attendants armed with weapons exchanged timid glances, none dared to follow in Lin Lan's footsteps; only an attendant named Jay bit down hard, looking at the lord's back, his heart oscillated between fear and courage.

Lin Lan did not pay attention to his attendants, his focus was fully directed at his panel.

Thirty meters... twenty meters...

Unnoticed, Lin Lan's surroundings were already filled with scarcely visible black gaps, they breathed, they wriggled, akin to a weaving spiderweb.

Beneath his feet was no longer solid sand, each area he stepped on felt like the wooden plank of a swing, swaying, swaying, pushing the wire connecting the plank to the brink of breaking.

Breathe deeply.

Step by step.

Lin Lan's heart pounded, he felt like his life was flashing before his eyes in this damned place, luckily the space was struggling to bear his weight, the worst case had not occurred.

Ten meters... five meters... one meter.

[Arrived at the designated location!]

Without a second thought, Lin Lan raised his arm, palm facing up, a delicate card embossed with the Red Moon on the back and blank on the front floated out of the booklet, spinning as it emerged.

And at that moment.

The time around him suddenly slowed.

The sound of people's exclamations was as distant as clouds on the horizon, the sea breeze vanished, the world before him was suddenly tinged with a mysterious crimson.

It was moonlight.

Astounded, Lin Lan raised his head, seeing strands of red light gently brush aside the gloomy clouds, revealing the crimson full moon.

The morning sun had disappeared without a trace, the entire sky was dyed a shade of red by the moonlight.

"This world is really freaking amazing..."

Lin Lan gazed at the familiar celestial body above, murmuring as a tide of drowsiness washed over him, the gentle moonlight seemingly pulling everything into a tranquil dream.

Thus the world truly quieted down.

Under that crimson glow, the sea breeze, the waves, the sand, and even those restless black cracks, everything around Lin Lan fell into a peaceful slumber.

Only the intricately designed card engraved with the moon spun endlessly.

Lin Lan drowsily closed his eyes.

[The Red Moon has transported you into a residual dream about the past, perhaps here lies a way to resolve the Apocalypse Shadow]

"How much time do we have left?"

A calm, gentle female voice sounded in Lin Lan's ear.

The blurry images gradually cleared up, Lin Lan opened his eyes, seeing a tall woman standing at the door of a silver-white room.

With flowing golden hair and breathtaking beauty, her pointed ears and temperament were akin to the lakes on high mountains, clear and ethereal.
