Chapter 43 - Rooftop Acrobatics

"AHHH!" I screamed, pure terror ripping through my chest.

The rooftop vanished beneath me.

And just as I thought I was going to fall—

A hand caught mine.

I jolted, jerking mid-air like a puppet caught by a string.

The pain in my wrist registered second to the panic. I looked up, breath hitching—

Mr. Jeon?!

WHAT IS HE DOING HERE?!

Is this a hallucination?

Is this heaven?

He was lying flat on his stomach, arm stretched over the edge, gripping me tightly with his right hand.

"Don't move!" he barked.

"I—I'm trying!" I cried out, my voice cracking as I dangled in open air.

I looked down.

The building was at least forty-seven stories high.

If I fell... there'd be nothing left of me.

Not even a bone for evidence.

Just... mush.

My entire body trembled. My fingers started to go numb, and tears spilled over as terror completely overtook me.

"Pull yourself up!" he grunted.

"I—I can't!" I sobbed, panicked. "I can't—my arms—!"
