Meanwhile somewhere else in Kalo trouble emerges...
A weird , pale looking man wearing a long hooded jacket, its covering his face however has a hold of someone and appears to be sucking out the life force through the electricity in the body while gaining some power
"Ahh that's good! , it's a start but I need more...a lot more!!"
He says as he throws the body to the ground.
"I should find somewhere that will give me a big power boost!"
He says while showing his electricity as they shoot out of his hands in yellow glow.
We get back to Kaleb and it seems school is finished and they're walking out the front door
"Man I'm glad schools over for the day! It drags so much" Kaleb says while slouching
"I know right! Today felt especially long but at least we break up for summer holidays soon" Jamie responds
They are walking along the street and see a big group forming around the science building from earlier
"People are still checking out what happening earlier?" Shift asks confused
Suddenly there was an earthquake and the powers seemed to be flickering on and off everywhere.
"What the-" Jamie exclaims shaken up
"Well that's not normal!" Kaleb says
Kaleb and Jamie runs over to the scene and Jamie looks over to a random stranger and asks
"Excuse me , can you tell me what happened please?"
"I'm not exactly sure but people say some random man dressed weird walked inside the building then suddenly earthquakes and the power started acting weird"
"Okay thank you" Jamie replies thankful for the information.
They walk away and walk towards an alley.
"Seems like K.R.A.D.D is getting a lot of attention lately, I gotta go!" Shift explains.
"I understand! Just remember to answer the call and I'll be there with you" Jamie responds
He creates a portal and jumps in and creates another one jumping out all suited out
"Man right after school I gotta be out here! Don't these weirdos ever give it a break" he thinks to himself
Suddenly his earpiece starts ringing and he presses it
"Can you hear me?" It's Jamie's voices
"Yeah I hear you , I'm going in the building right now"
"Okay stay alert! We don't know who or what powers they have" Jamie explains
Shift teleports inside and starts walking around inside while looking around trying to find clues suddenly he hears a weird faint sound but he could pick it up , it's like a hum of electricity.
"I hear a weird noise , I'm making my way there now" he followed it
and sees the weird man in a weird suit, Shift whispers to Jamie as he teleports without the portal for stealth.
"The people outside was right...a weird man in a weird suit did come in here , they'll think it's even weirder that you're sucking all the power up...that's greedy" Shift says to Jamie as the man's is still sucking up all the electricity from the electronics , suddenly the weird man looks around confused as if he heard something
"No you couldn't of" Shift thinks to himself
"The Greed is the name afterall so it's quite fitting!! Show yourself'
'He really did' he continues to think to himself before speaking
"Look up plus how did you even hear that" Shift says as he is waving
"How did you get there? He says while shooting electricity out of his hands , Shift dodges them by creating portals as footing and doing parkour jumping around making it hard for him to hit.
'I was testing this out but who would of thought that if I imagine that there's something to step on or push off of it would be there making it possible to parkour mid air" shift says to himself
"You need to focus!" Jamie explains
While the weird guy is shooting the yellow lightning trying to hit Shift however none of them are touching him but as he is using a lot of energy The Greed who can smell energy the same way humans can smell the scent of food , he begins to sniff hard to get a small scent of Shift's energy source.
"This energy! It's so pure! I want it"
As he is distracted thinking about the energy Shift notices and makes his way close to him going in one portal and out another portal using the momentum Shift hits him with a kick to the face sending him flying backwards into the wall , Shift quickly makes his way there. Only to find the man has escaped! Gone just like that.
"Damn it! He got away!" Shift says visibly upset before he starts to leave the scene to meet back up with Jamie.
In the back of a dirty alleyway , dustbins full with flies buzzing around and walls graffitied everywhere sits the man. The self proclaimed Greed.
"That brats kick hurt!! Just what is he? And that energy of his! It was extremely pure! , I want it and I will get it...first I'll get stronger and get my revenge by swallowing all your energy hahahaha" the energy vampire says laughing frantically.
A few hours have passed. Back at the Sanctuary , Kaleb and Jamie are standing around the computers and Kaleb is still annoyed that he let the villain escape
"Bro you gotta let it go! One thing we know about criminals is they always come back. Now let's go do some more training and test the new imagination theory" Jamie explains
"You're right , I'll just make sure I'm ready next time! Let's do this"
They make it to the training facility and begin testing , there is a can on a table
"Okay , so your power might be way more than just teleporting if it is actually linked to imagination. So I want you to try imagining the can flying to your hand"
Kaleb then puts his hand out and imagines moving the can using his mind suddenly the can , engulfed in his power lifts off the table into the air and flies straight into his hand
"Woah it actually worked?!" Jamie says shocked
"Next we will see if you can generate objects from your imagination , try imagining. Create the weapon that first appears to you in your mind"
Kaleb begins to imagine and suddenly his power forms and constructs into a bo staff and he grabs it and starts swinging it around with ease! Each swing perfectly executed showing his experience with it
"Success , It worked!" Jamie expresses happily
"I know right but I feel like I gotta get more creative with it in order for it to work" he says as he extends part of the bo staff for even more reach
Maybe but at least now we have definite proof that imagination is a big factor into your powers"
That's true! Speaking of that I do have an idea! So when I'm teleporting sometimes I sometimes throw a portal and go inside it to gain speed when I fly out of another one"
"Okay yeah and where you going with this" Jamie asks back
"Well I throw out this sort of raw energy and if I refine it more , I can't really explain it properly but if I use that but with the intention of attacking"
Kaleb says while he makes the blue and pinkish energy and throws it at the three cans sitting next to each other suddenly it split into three, perfectly cutting through each can like a saw before disappearing.
"Maybe I shouldn't use that on anybody unless last resort" Kaleb says
"Yeah that might be a little much"
"I will do it again but with the intention of hitting it instead of cutting it"
He throws it and it hits off the table then ricochet off the wall than the ceiling before retuning back to Kaleb's hand"
Woah! That's pretty cool" Jamie says in awe , he continues
"I feel like your powers are more suited situational so you'll be able to imagine what's best to use in the moment plus it's not like you're not already well versed in weapons" he says while walking towards the computer as it beeps with an alarm
"It seems you might be able to test out your weapons right now , there's a large power spike over at the park! I'm guessing our energy friend is the reason"
Shift is on the move portal jumping
"Gotta get over there quickly and this time I won't let him get away"
When Shift gets there he quickly sees a figure of The Greed standing in the air in a ball of electricity with his hands up high, grabbing lightning seeing how much of a mess he is making absorbing it while excess lightning hitting the ground and cars , property etc. The police are trying their hardest to get the situation under control and helping with the evacuation.
"Where did he even get the lightning from?" Shift asks confused
'Good thing I installed the cameras into the suit because I wouldn't believe any of this' Jamie says through the earpiece
'Tell me about it' Shift says while teleporting around helping people in need
"I've been waiting for you! It's time to make your powers mine!" The greed says while trying to grab him using two bright yellow hands made up of electricity
"Woah , you can make hands now? That's creepy" Shift says while teleporting dodging it
The Greed gets frustrated and creates two more
"Even more hands?! Even more creepy " he says while dodging them all again , Shift jumps up into the air using a portal as a surface and generates a disc and throws it at The Greed however he just grabs it and absorbs it
"Ehh did he just eat my energy?" Kaleb asks
"It would appear so , I think if you just throw your abilities at him he will just keep absorbing it and getting even stronger" Jamie responds through the earpiece
The Greed gets bigger causing more destruction as he's frantically moving around , not caring about the buildings crumbling , cars flying around or civilians running and screaming.
"Oh that energy is just as good as I imagined! Give me more"
He says while rushing towards Shift crushing anything underneath him in his path with the four arms of electricity at the side of him as he is in encased in a ball of electricity.
In the earpiece Jamie makes a statement...
"...Let him take it'
"What? " shift asks
"If he wants to take the energy, let him have it! Give it all to him , my guess is he won't be able to handle it all and will go into overdrive and explode"
"Are you sure it would work? Because that sounds really risky" Shift asks while dodging his attacks
"Yes...well I'm 98% sure it will work"
Shift charges in with an attack however gets caught by the 4 hands made of energy crushing him then he creates a barrier of yellow energy around him draining the energy from Shift as he screams from the pain
Yes!! That's the power I'm talking about! It's wasted on you! With this power I'll be able to take over worlds no...universes! As I said earlier these powers are wasted on you boy, I'll take better care of it!'
"NOWWWWW'' Jamie shouts through the earpiece
Shift then says " oh so you want my energy huh? Well take it all!! Let's see just how much you can take!
Shift starts charging all the energy out that he can imagine and muster out suddenly the big ball of yellow energy is being consumed by shifts blue and pink energy.
Shift lets out a battle cry shouting
"ARGHHHHHHHH!"
"Wait...what are you doing? Stop that! That's too much energy and way to fast!" He says as he expands from all the energy intake and his body starts cracking as yellow light begins exploding out from him
"Well looks like you couldn't handle all the energy after all" Shift says in a cocky way
"You fool , what do you think will happen to the energy he accumulated thanks to you aha! It will explode and it's will be big enough to wipe out Kalos hahaha" he says
"How about you look down before you start talking" shift replies
He looks around and sees nothing but the blue sky and clouds as Shift teleported them both the air without him noticing
"What the? When did you do that?"
"Well you know what they say a magician never revels their tricks"
Not long after, he reached a critical point and explodes however Shift teleports away safe from explosion and only feels the force of the wave of air left from the explosion.
After a few minutes the earpiece in Kaleb's ear begins to static as it keeps breaking up suddenly it stabilises...
"Hello? Seems that's comms are back on! Been trying to contact you for a while now!"Jamie says
"Yeah just got back into range now , I'm on my way back to you now"
Shift explains
"No...you got somewhere else important to be!! Kaleb I'm sorry to tell you man but it's your aunt! , you need to get to Kalos Hospital asap"
Shift does hesitate for a single second and makes it to the hospital by teleporting close to it in an alleyway. Appearing out the alleyway in normal clothes and runs into the hospital looking around nervous looking for his mum who is a nurse , a faint voice could be heard
'Kaleb?...Kaleb!! Omg you're safe thank the heavens! I'm glad you're okay an-"Kalebs mum says happily with her eyes puffed from crying before getting cut off by Kaleb
"Mum what has happened to Aunt Kat , Jamie told me what happened and I came as soon as I could"
Her faces changes.
"Kaleb, your aunt was hurt really bad , she got hurt on duty! She was trying to save a kid from that freak storm and got hit pretty bad"
"Oh no! Is she okay?
"I don't know how to say this...she was in critical condition when she got here and despite all their best efforts they wasn't able to get her fully stable...I'm sorry son but your aunt , my sister in law is gone" she says while crying out loud holding Kaleb as he is visually distraught with millions of thoughts and memories flowing at once but one big thought that is more powerful than the others and that is...ITS ALL MY FAULT!!"
"Before she passed away she insisted she write a letter addressed to you and wanted me to give it to you if she didn't make it" she says as she takes it out her front pocket and hands it to him
Soon alerts go off and the hospital staff seem to be rushing and Kalebs mum says
"Son , I know the news is hard right now but I got to go back to work , if you want , stay here as long as you need to and I'll come check on you when I can"
Kaleb leaves the hospital and just keeps walking muttering to himself
"It's all my fault , I'm the reason she's gone , I'm no hero , I'm so stupid" so many negative emotions and thoughts was having a toll on him, suddenly he snapped and just released a scream of pain releasing a huge amount of energy flying upwards through several portals gaining speed with each one , lucky he walked for so long without noticing that he was in a secluded place however Shift is not paying attention and is just teleporting through portals at incredible speeds zig zagging all over the place while shouting as he feels nothing but his pain, he shoots up high into the sky and freefalls like he is sky diving however the note that his mum gave him from his aunt falls out his pocket and gets taken by the wind but Kaleb notices it and without thinking teleports to it , grabs it and starts reading it...he starts crying while reading it and at the end he wipes his eyes and shouts
Okay auntie! I hear you loud and clear I will Stand High In Frightening Times.
