Kaida's POV
I never thought he meant it literally, with trembling hands, I pried the old iron key from the drawer in his study. I went back, unlocked the door, and stepped inside.
Dust choked the air cobwebs lined the corners like gray lace scrolls, ancient maps, and sealed boxes were scattered across the room.
I lit a lamp and searched, pulling drawers and flipping through journals. Then I found it... a letter, hidden beneath the false bottom of a drawer.
It was addressed to me, Kaida.
If you are reading this, then I am no longer by your side. I've never trusted the Moon Priest completely, I suspect he has ties beyond what we see. There is a passage in the old temple beneath Crownstone I've hidden something there... something that can reveal the truth about everything, don't trust anyone until you find it.
Love always, Lupus.
My hands trembled as I folded the letter. Before I could react, I heard footsteps outside. Fast, rushed. Then a voice I recognized.
