Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Prague – 10:17 a.m.

Back in the university's archives, Langdon stood with Inspector Lenka Vacek, a sharp-eyed woman with more scepticism than patience.

"You knew the victim?" she asked.

"I met Professor Kral once. He was scheduled to introduce Katherine today." She frowned. "You said you're a professor?" "Yes. Harvard. Symbology." Lenka raised an eyebrow. "So you study signs." "Symbols," Langdon corrected. "The signs of ancient thought." She handed him a sealed plastic bag. Inside was a torn piece of parchment found at the crime scene, folded in three. Langdon carefully opened it.

At the centre was a crude drawing—three concentric circles with triangles pointing inward. Around the outer ring, five letters were written in what appeared to be Enochian script—the so-called "language of the angels."

Langdon's heart skipped a beat.

He knew this symbol.

It was called the Chamber of the Mind.

And according to legend... it didn't exist.
