Chapter 10 - Greedy Absorber

(A Week Later)

Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes turned into hours and hours into days.

It had been a week since Rain had started cultivating. He had practically lost the passage of time of the outside world and was only focused on Cultivation.

The more he destroyed his Dantian, the harder it was trying to rebuild it.

He had finally managed to succeed the ninth one and was in the process of forging it back into what it was meant to be.

At the moment, a strong energy fluctuation could be felt from Rain. Qi from five hundred meters away from him were all dragged towards him.

His body was like a black hole, greedily absorbing all the Qi in the surroundings.

This caused a commotion around the dorm where Rain was living, but no one was brave enough to check out what was happening.

After about an hour, the strong energy fluctuation began to reduce and slowly it died down.

At this moment, Rain's eyes flashed open. Finally, he was done.

And now his Cultivation has taken a huge Leap. He was now a late-stage Foundation Establishment Realm powerhouse.

Checking his body and feeling the familiar surge of strength, Rain smiled and stood up.

Now that he had broken through, he still needed to have some exercise. Though he was a top powerhouse in the past with plenty of battle experience, if he sat all day cultivating, it really wouldn't change anything.

Besides, he would need to Cultivate his Martial arts skills once again. He couldn't just Cultivate blindly, he still needed to add some other things to it and the only way to continuously hone his skills was to engage in battle.

In the past, there were so many techniques he could use. But now, he couldn't use anyone.

There were some he wouldn't even be able to Cultivate until he broke through a certain realm.

As for what he was going to learn this time, he had a whole plan for it. Besides, there was no need to walk the path he walked in the past.

"Let's go get a mission first," Rain muttered pushing all thoughts to the back of his mind and stepping into the bathroom to wash up.

After a while, Rain stepped out of his room, donned a black robe, his hair neatly packed, and a new aura of confidence surrounded him as he made his way toward the mission hall.

The mission hall was where missions were posted. Interested disciples would go there to accept the Mission.

Though each mission had the minimum realm requirements for one to be able to accept it, they still had to get approval from the mission hall master before they would be able to take it.

After the mission, they would bring proof of completion and then be rewarded with points which then could be traded for resources in the sect.

Getting to the mission hall, everyone's attention fell on Rain. He was an outer disciple and it was rare to see outer disciples come to accept missions.

This was due to the fact that Outer sect disciples had no access to the sect library which contained fighting techniques and all others.

So most of them would rather focus on Cultivation and use the monthly sect resources given to them.

Rain on the other hand couldn't care less about the gazes he received and walked straight to the mission board.

It was time to home his skills once again, so he couldn't care less about what they thought.

As for the sect's techniques, he couldn't care less about them. He had a bunch of high-level ones, so why would he care about some low-level techniques?

Staring at the board, Rain frowned slightly wondering what to choose. Most of the missions required him to be at least a Core Spirit Realm Cultivator.

The elder of the mission hall wouldn't let him accept it, even if he was confident in completing it.

After looking for a while, Rain's eyes caught the description of a mission.

"Hunt down the Thunder Fang Boars terrorizing Bo Village. Reward: fifty points."

Seeing this, Rain's eyes lit up and he couldn't help but chuckle lightly. This was exactly what he was looking for.

Removing the pin from the mission board, Rain prepared to head down towards the elder to accept the mission when a feminine voice stopped him,

"Hey, Junior brother,"

Hearing this voice, Rain stopped and turned around to see who it was only to come in face to face with a female disciple with a crest of the inner disciple.

"How many I help you?" Rain frowned slightly, observing the lady.

"I've been observing you since you walked into the mission hall and I couldn't help but notice that you don't have a partner to go on a mission with you, so why don't we take this mission together," The girl proposed, making the smile on Rain's face fade.

"I don't think..." Rain started, but stopped midway, his expression changed the moment his eyes landed on the contents inside the mission paper.

"Minimum of two people and a maximum of ten,"

Seeing this, Rain sighed not knowing what to say. He has no friends in the sect except for Ling.

But someone like her wouldn't accept a mission like this. It was looking down on what she could do if she did.

The others who knew him believed he was trash, so there was no way they would agree to go on a mission with him.

At this moment, he had two choices,

First was to accept the mission, and go with the lady beside him. The second was to reject it and look for another one he could go on alone.

The second option was out of the question as there were no other missions of his level.

Besides, he had other reasons for wanting to go out of the sect. So he couldn't just reject the lady.

"Fine, let's form a temporary team, we'll go together," Rain agreed after a lot of contemplation.
