Chapter 74 - Honkai: Star Rail — Kamen Rider! [74] [500 STONES]

Hoshigaki Sora's consciousness gradually stirred. The scenes from just before he lost consciousness still circled in his mind, helping him piece together what had happened.

The planet had been reforged. Civilization had taken root anew, and there were no more hidden threats looming over it.

Zulo was no longer connected to this world. The planet had truly been granted a second life.

He had kept his promise to those children—or rather, the conditions to fulfill that promise were finally in place. Even the guardians who had once fought to their last breath for this planet's honor...

Now had the chance to live again, to reclaim both their glory and dignity.

The will that longed to continue fighting alongside its companions had become the guardian deity of this new world.

In short—nothing bad had been left behind.

Realizing that, Sora's lips curled into a small, satisfied smile.

Yeah. A perfect ending really is what I want most.

Even Touma-sensei, at the very end, had knocked him out just to make sure he got some proper rest.

"Couldn't he have gone a little easier on the blow?" Sora muttered, still feeling a dull ache at the back of his neck.

He glanced at the system timer, and that's when he realized something utterly baffling.

"I slept... for over forty hours?!"

That's right. He'd been unconscious for nearly two full days.

Checking the system space, he noticed both the Xross Saber and Wonder Almighty had lost their glow.

The residual energy within them told him their powers had been mostly sealed.

While he could still access omniscience and omnipotence to a degree, it was nowhere near enough to reshape the entire galaxy again.

Put simply—his power output had been capped. And the one responsible for sealing it?

Touma-sensei. The very same person who knocked him out for so long.

"That damned Flame Swordsman...!"

Sora grumbled under his breath. Obviously Touma didn't want him abusing that power—so he'd imposed a restriction to stop it from being borrowed or misused.

Not that Sora meant it seriously. If Touma-sensei made that call, it must've been for a good reason.

Still...

"What the heck is this now?"

Sora stared at the transparent shell encasing him—a full-body glass-like cocoon. He seemed to be lying inside some kind of chamber.

In a flash, dozens of images raced through his mind.

Most of them... surprisingly... were those laser-facial beauty treatments that junky photon ads loved to spam.

No way. Don't tell me this is my turn now?

Shocking: Flame Swordsman breaks all rules of pedagogy by putting successors through photon-beauty-willpower boot camp.

Sora slowly sat up—and the moment he did, text prompts flickered across the screen above him.

A low hiss sounded as the chamber surrounding him unsealed with a soft sigh.

"What the hell—this is some next-level tech." He blinked, then remembered the setting he was in.

In this world? Things like armor installation and modular suits were nothing out of the ordinary.

Just then, the nearby door hissed open.

Two people entered, both dressed in white lab coats—very much like doctors.

"Sir, you're finally awake."

"Uh... hi, where am I—?"

"One moment. You were entrusted to us by the guardian deity of this planet. As such, we ran a comprehensive examination to assess your condition."

Ah. So it was his old partner who dropped him off here.

The doctor continued. "Physically, everything looks normal. In fact, your body's condition surpasses baseline human health by a significant margin."

"Outside of some mild malnutrition, you're in excellent shape."

Sora nodded. That meant they'd run him through a full diagnostic sweep.

Not that my body should have any problems...

But just as that thought passed through his head, the doctor's tone suddenly shifted.

"However, that's only on the surface. On a deeper level—sir, your situation is... not good."

Sora blinked.

"Huh?!"

I just rebuilt an entire planet! I was literally reshaping the galaxy a few days ago, and now you're telling me I'm sick?

The doctor didn't seem surprised by the outburst. He paused briefly—giving Sora a chance to process—then calmly continued:

"Based on your symptoms and your resonance with Imaginary particles, we've diagnosed you with a very rare condition—"

Sora's mouth twitched.

...Please don't tell me you're about to sell me miracle pills.

"What condition?"

"Entropy Loss Syndrome."

Sora was silent for a long time.

Then: "HUH?!"

No way. Me? Entropy Loss? I mean yeah, sure, I can transform—but I'm no Stellaron Hunter, man!

Seeing his stunned reaction, the doctor looked surprised.

"You... didn't know about this condition?"

He approached and gently rolled up Sora's sleeve.

Only then did Sora notice that his arm... looked semi-transparent. Almost like it could vanish at any moment.

"This is the most characteristic symptom of Entropy Loss. Your body will gradually begin to disappear from this point."

Sora stared in stunned silence.

Soon, the weakened omniscient power within him gave him an answer.

Overusing omniscient, omnipotent force had pushed his body past its limit—it couldn't adapt to the energy, and was now deteriorating.

Basically, like what happened to Touma-sensei at the end of his series.

The only difference was—Sora's case was milder. With rest and restricted use of his powers, recovery was possible.

So that's why the Xross Saber and Wonder Almighty had been sealed.

It was to protect my body...

"Please don't worry," the doctor said softly, noticing Sora's silence and misreading it as despair. "While the condition is serious, we'll do everything we can to help."

"You're a friend of our guardian deity—which makes you a friend of ours, too."

"Bringing hope to our friends is the motto of our planet."

Sora looked at the doctor, still trying to cheer him up.

He hadn't written that motto himself, but hearing it now... it didn't sound too bad.

Meanwhile, beyond the atmosphere.

Anna and Robin stared in stunned silence at the lush, emerald planet before them.

That was impossible.

Hadn't the planet been obliterated? Reduced to nothing but dust?

Then what... was this?

Before they could even collect their thoughts, the terminal aboard their ship lit up with a flurry of alerts.

The voice softened.

[Welcome home, Princess Anna.]
