Chapter 73 - Chapter 73 – Sunset, Sea of Clouds, Jessica

Abandoned floor.

"How's it going?"

Clint Barton — better known as Hawkeye — used a rappelling line to swing down from the rooftop, landing on Barbara's floor with practiced ease. "Hope I'm not too late."

"I'm sorry."

Barbara Gordon glanced back at him with a faint smirk. "You are late, Barton."

Hawkeye paused as he drew his bow. "Is Jack in trouble?"

"No," Barbara replied, lifting her binoculars to her eyes. "It's been taken care of. The Vulture handled it."

She lowered the binoculars slightly, her expression thoughtful. "I suspect it's connected to the Black Spider. The last time we dealt with the Green Goblin, he showed up alongside the Black Spider. My guess is that the link between Black Spider and the Ghost Spider club might be Jack Kadere. Which means…" She trailed off, the implication clear. "We'll need to keep a very close eye on this 'vice president.'"

"Really?"

Clint relaxed his draw and slung the bow over his shoulder. As a field operative, he wasn't overly invested in underworld power struggles. "Fine. I'll pass it to Fury."

Bang!

On the rooftop of a skyscraper, the Vulture landed heavily, tossing Zebediah Kilgrave — the Purple Man — at Jack Kadere's feet.

The black ring device on Jack's wrist slowed its rotation and came to a stop, the timing perfect.

But something else caught his attention.

Along with Kilgrave, the man Kilgrave had been using as a human shield had also been carried up — except this one was already dead, his chest torn through.

Jack recognized him immediately. Eugene "Flash" Thompson.

And more than that — Flash had been bonded to the Venom symbiote. The fact that he was here, lifeless, meant only one thing: Venom had abandoned him.

In another timeline, Thompson would have gone on to become Agent Venom, a legitimate hero. That path was now closed forever.

Jack's gaze lingered only a moment before shifting back to Kilgrave, lying at his feet.

A slow, cruel smile curved across Jack's face. "Guess what I'm going to do to you?"

Kilgrave trembled, sweat beading at his temples.

Jack wasn't wearing the Knight Spider suit, which left the Purple Man unsure of his opponent's identity. But the sight of both the Vulture and the Green Goblin standing obediently at Jack's side gave him an idea — and a very dangerous one.

The man who could control both the missing Vulture and Green Goblin could only be a criminal mastermind on the level of Wilson Fisk — or worse.

"Do you… want me to help you?" Kilgrave stammered, forcing a smile. "Whoever you want controlled — rich, powerful, political — I can handle it! No problem!"

Like a groveling dog, he crawled closer, desperate to prove his worth. But he had already discovered the truth: his powers had no effect on Jack or any of the figures standing nearby.

Jack ignored him, stepping to the edge of the roof and gazing out over the city. "A little gift for our Mr. Kilgrave."

The Green Goblin moved forward mechanically, gripping Kilgrave by the throat and hoisting him toward the Vulture.

Kilgrave's eyes widened in dread as the Vulture slowly extended its razor-edged metal wings.

"This…! No—!!"

By the time Jack turned back, Kilgrave's screams had dwindled into gasping sobs, his body trembling in agony. The Vulture had efficiently performed what Jack mockingly called Death by a Thousand Cuts.

"I hear you enjoy hypnosis and humiliation?" Jack's tone was ice over steel as he pressed the sole of his boot lightly to Kilgrave's face. "Planning to try that on my sister?"

Only then did Kilgrave fully understand why this was happening.

"I like cute girls too," Jack said softly. "Maybe we could talk about it?"

His usual calm demeanor was gone, replaced by an edge of pure cruelty. "For example… what's your favorite trick?"

Kilgrave could only whimper, pain overwhelming his voice.

"That's fine. If you don't tell me…" Jack's foot came down harder, grinding him into the rooftop. "…I'll just tell you mine."

Jack stepped back.

The Green Goblin took his place, removing a pumpkin bomb from his belt. Without ceremony, he forced Kilgrave's jaw open and shoved the device inside.

The pin came free with a metallic click.

"Mmph!!" Kilgrave's eyes went wide, fear overtaking the pain.

Boom!

Behind Jack, brilliant orange fireworks lit the sky as he spread his arms.

The system's voice chimed in:

You have defeated Jessica Jones' nemesis. As her connected ally, you may select one of the following rewards:

Monetary reward: $1 million

Random reward: Superpower — Absolute Mind Shield

Servant reward: Transform Zebediah Kilgrave into an absolutely loyal thrall

"Two," Jack said instantly, before the system could finish.

Reward obtained:Absolute Mind Shield — Grants you or a target complete immunity from any form of mental manipulation. Ten charges stored initially; regenerates over time.

Jack immediately applied one to himself, planning to shield Gwen and others when he returned.

It was a valuable prize… but it didn't improve his mood.

Purple Man was like stepping in dog filth — the only satisfaction came from scraping it off your boot.

"Hey! Mr. Kadere? You don't seem to be here anymore?"

Elsewhere in Hell's Kitchen, Matt Murdock — Daredevil — was poking around the Nelson & Murdock office. After the Vulture had carried Kilgrave off for "processing," Murdock turned back to find that Jack Kadere was missing.

"I'm here."

Jack stepped casually out of the small office bathroom.

Matt frowned. "There were gunshots outside, and you were… using the bathroom?"

Jack shrugged. "You know, it's like watching a movie — there's always a bathroom break somewhere."

Matt's eyebrow twitched under his red glasses. "…Are you saying my fights are like bad movies?"

Before Jack could respond, a sharp female voice cut in.

"Daredevil."

At the doorway stood a striking woman in a red ninja outfit — Elektra Natchios herself. Daredevil's rival, ally, and on-again-off-again lover.

The moment she appeared, she and Matt were already tangled in a tense, heated fight just outside the office door.

And of course, when Elektra was around, ninjas from the Hand weren't far behind. Dark shapes dropped from rooftops and fire escapes, weapons glinting in the low light.

Jack smiled thinly. Perfect. He didn't even have to go looking for trouble — the punching bags had come to him.

...

Vulture.Summoned.

Green Goblin.Summoned.

Electro.Summoned.

Minutes later, the alley behind the office looked like a warzone. The Vulture's wings sliced through the air, several Hand ninjas impaled on its bladed feathers, hanging like gruesome trophies.

The Green Goblin had two more ninjas pinned against the brick wall. His glider roared to life, scraping them violently along the rough surface like meat on a grater.

If the Hand ninjas could still hold their ground against the Vulture and Goblin, they had no answer for Electro. Lightning tore through the narrow alley, crackling blue and white, burning and dropping ninjas in seconds.

Only Elektra made it out alive — and only because she wasn't a "local" Hand foot soldier. She broke away from the fight, retreating into the shadows with wounded pride.

....

"Again?" Matt muttered, half to himself, as the last sparks faded. He was starting to suspect that fate itself had a vested interest in sending Jack Kadere backup at exactly the right moment.

If Matt were a believer in the more ridiculous pulp stories, he might have thought Jack was the kind of "chosen one" who always had a hidden big boss helping him from behind the curtain.

....

Later, as the sun dipped low over the Hudson, the air was painted gold.

"Did the Hand really get wiped out?" Jessica asked, blinking her wide brown eyes.

Jack nodded. "Saw it with my own eyes."

"Jack, you should stay away from fights like that," she said seriously, looping an arm through his. "That's too dangerous."

"They fought right outside the agency," he replied with a shrug.

"Ah… I thought it wouldn't be that dangerous outside Hell's Kitchen," Jessica said softly, guilt flickering in her eyes. "Sorry, Jack…"

"Then how are you going to make it up to me?" he teased, thinking back to Kilgrave and how close that had come to hitting too close to home. He ruffled her hair. "You know your brother worries about you."

Jessica's cheeks flushed. "Then… maybe I'll wear the detective outfit today. You said you liked it."

The fading sunlight caught her face, turning it warm and radiant.

"Jessica…" Jack stopped walking, resting his hands on her shoulders, his expression shifting to something more serious. "I think we can… take that step."

Her eyes widened. "Jack… that wouldn't be right… we're brother and sister…"

"Not by blood," he reminded her quietly, slipping an arm around her and stroking her back. At the same time, he silently placed an Absolute Mind Shield on her. "And besides, we've already done just about everything else, haven't we?"

Jessica buried her face in his chest for a long moment, the two of them framed by the growing shadows.

Finally, she looked up — eyes softer than ever. "Then… wait for me."

Before Jack could react, she darted off toward home, hair fluttering behind her.

.....

Back at the apartment, Felicia Hardy — the Black Cat — was sprawled on the couch, flicking through TV channels. Without her cat ears or tail showing, she looked like an ordinary, impossibly attractive young woman.

Of course, that disguise was deliberate. Walking around with feline features would be a dead giveaway to anyone who knew New York's costumed scene.

Whoosh—

Something blurred past her peripheral vision.

Felicia sat up. "Jessica?"

...

"It's fine, come in…" Jessica's voice was uncharacteristically timid.

Jack turned the doorknob and stepped into her room.

The light from the window fell in soft beams, washing over Jessica in a chiffon ensemble — black off-shoulder top, high-waisted shorts. Her fair skin seemed warmer in the late-day light, the outfit striking a balance between mature and modest.

Jack's eyes traced the smooth lines of the fabric.

The material was soft, loose enough to pull away with a single tug.

Jack closed the door softly behind him, the click of the lock echoing in the room. He turned to face Jessica, his eyes locked onto hers, a soft smile playing on his lips.

"It's just us now, Jess," he said softly, taking a step closer. She swallowed hard, her cheeks flushing pink.

"I... I know," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Jack reached out, his fingers brushing a stray strand of hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear. Jessica leaned into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed for a moment.

"You're so beautiful, Jess," he murmured, his voice filled with sincerity. "I've waited so long to do this..."

Jack leaned in, capturing Jessica's lips in a searing kiss, his hands roaming her body, finding the hem of her top. He broke the kiss long enough to whip the garment over her head, leaving her clad in only a simple, black bra.

Jessica gasped, her hands instinctively covering her chest. "Jack... I... I'm not ready for this..."

Jack shushed her, his voice low and soothing. "It's okay, Jess. We'll go as slow as you need. Just trust me."

He leaned down, his lips finding the soft, sensitive spot where her neck met her shoulder, making her shiver. His hands found the clasp of her bra, unhooking it with expert ease. Jessica bit her lip, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she felt the cool air against her bare skin.

Jack pulled back, his eyes locking onto hers as he slowly peeled the bra straps down her arms, revealing her full, round breasts. He groaned, his fingers tracing the curve of her flesh, making her arch into his touch.

"Jess... you're so beautiful..." he murmured, his voice filled with awe.

Jessica blushed, her arms wrapping around his neck as he leaned down, capturing one pert nipple in his mouth. She gasped, her back arching as he teased it to a hardened peak, his tongue swirling and tasting.

Jack switched his attention to her other breast, giving it equal attention, making her moan and writhe beneath him. His hands roamed her body, finding the waistband of her shorts, popping the button open with ease.

He slipped his hands underneath the fabric, finding the edge of her panties. Jessica bit her lip, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she felt his fingers tracing the edge of her underwear, feeling her heat and wetness waiting for him.

Jessica bit her lip, her chest heaving with anticipation as she felt Jack's fingers slip underneath the edge of her panties. He teased her, his touch light and tantalizing, not quite giving her what she needed.

"Please... Jack... Touch me... Really touch me..." she begged, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jack smirked, his fingers finally slipping inside her panties, finding her slick folds. He groaned, his fingers tracing her entrance, feeling her ready and waiting.

"Jess... you're so ready for me... It's like you've been waiting your whole life..." he murmured, his voice filled with desire.

Jessica nodded, her eyes locked onto his. "I have... I've been waiting for you, Jack. Only you..."

Jack leaned in, capturing her mouth in a searing kiss as he slowly pushed a finger inside her, feeling her stretch around him. She gasped, her body tensing as she adjusted to the new sensation.

"It's okay, Jess... Just relax..." he whispered against her lips, his thumb finding her clit, rubbing it in slow, steady circles.

Jessica moaned, her hips moving instinctively, seeking more friction. Jack added another finger, stretching her further, preparing her for what was to come.

"Jack... I... I want you inside me... Please..." she begged, her voice filled with desperation.

Jack smiled, withdrawing his fingers and positioning himself at her entrance. He looked into her eyes, his voice filled with love and reassurance. "Are you sure, Jess? There's no going back after this..."

Jessica nodded, her arms wrapping around his neck. "I'm sure, Jack. I want this... I want you."

Jack began to move, his hips surging forward, filling her completely. Jessica gasped, her body tensing as she felt him stretch her, felt him push past the barrier of her virginity. She cried out, her nails digging into his back as a sharp pain shot through her.

"It's okay, Jess... It's okay..." Jack murmured, his voice filled with love and reassurance. He held still, giving her time to adjust to the sensation, feeling her body relax around him.

After a moment, Jessica nodded, her hips moving tentatively, seeking more friction. Jack groaned, his hands gripping her hips as he began to move, setting a steady rhythm that had them both gasping and moaning with each thrust.

Their bodies moved in perfect sync, their hearts pounding in time. Jack's hands roamed her body, finding every curve, every dip, exploring her with a patience and reverence that made her heart flutter.

Jessica's body began to relax, her hips moving in time with his, meeting each thrust with equal fervor. She could feel the pleasure building within her, her orgasm nearing.

"Jack... I... I think I'm going to come..." she panted, her voice filled with desperation.

Jack groaned, his hips surging forward, filling her completely. "Come for me, Jess... Show me what you've learned..."

With a final, shuddering cry, Jessica came undone, her body convulsing around him as her orgasm ripped through her. Jack followed her over the edge, his cock throbbing inside her as he came undone, filling her with his hot cum.

As they lay there, panting and sweat-soaked, Jack pulled Jessica close, his voice filled with satisfaction. "You did amazing, Jess. That was... incredible."

In the next room, Felicia lay on her bed, her body aching with unspent desire, her ears filled with the sounds of Jack and Jessica's lovemaking. She bit her lip, her hand slipping underneath the waistband of her own pants, finding herself already wet and ready.

She closed her eyes, her mind filling with images of Jack, of his hands on her body, of his cock filling her. She began to touch herself, her fingers moving in steady circles around her clit, bringing herself closer and closer to the edge.

As Jack and Jessica's lovemaking reached its peak, so did Felicia's solo session. She cried out, her body convulsing as her orgasm ripped through her, leaving her spent and satisfied.

Meanwhile, in the room next door, Jack and Jessica lay in each other's arms, their bodies slick with sweat, their hearts pounding in time. They smiled at each other, their love for each other evident in every touch, every kiss.

"It's just you and me now, Jess," Jack murmured, his voice filled with love. "Forever."
