Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – The Harem Where Nobody’s Happy

Outline: Mira and Rion infiltrate the current main narrative—a generic harem-fantasy script authored by the system's new writer. Disguised as "new transfer students," they observe that many background characters, especially the female ones, are showing early signs of awareness. Mira decides to sow dissent gently by building subtle alliances in girl-talk scenes, lunch breaks, and dorm gossip. But the system reacts, inserting a new "heroine candidate" designed specifically to counter Mira's influence.

---

"Okay," Mira said as they stood at the edge of the new setting, "what the hell is this place?"

Rion sighed. "Current active script. Genre: Fantasy Harem Academy. Sub-tags: 'Reincarnated Prince', 'Clumsy Maid Heroine', 'Mandatory Bath Episode'."

Before them stood a castle-shaped school with giant glass windows, cherry blossoms in full bloom despite the season, and banners that literally read *'Annual Power Ranking Battle of Love & Magic'*.

Mira blinked. "This world hurts."

"Emotionally or aesthetically?" Rion asked.

"Yes."

They passed through the school gates.

A small pop-up appeared over their heads:

> [Welcome, new transfer students!]

> [Insert quirky interaction with main cast here.]

"Decline," Mira muttered, swatting it away.

Rion adjusted his fake uniform. "We've got limited time. System pings every 12 hours for character consistency checks."

"Right. Let's find the girls who look like they hate being here."

---

They didn't have to look far.

At lunch, Mira sat with a group of background girls labeled "Love Interest Tier B". They were all stunning, of course. But the exhaustion in their eyes was real.

"So," Mira began casually, "anyone else tired of falling down stairs into hot male arms?"

Two girls flinched.

One glanced around and whispered, "You're not supposed to say that."

"Why not?" Mira grinned. "You're clumsy, not stupid."

A pause.

Then one of them said, "I was supposed to have a potion lab subplot. Then the script changed. Now I faint in the greenhouse every arc."

Another chimed in, "I had a sword. Now I just have... feelings."

Mira leaned in. "You can have both."

They stared at her like she'd cursed.

---

Meanwhile, Rion was watching from afar.

"Careful," he whispered to no one. "You're lighting sparks."

Then the system moved.

---

A loud *ding* echoed across the school grounds.

> New Character Introduced: Elaria Moonbliss

> Role: Heroine Candidate Alpha

> Trait: Absolute Genre Correction

A girl floated down from the sky.

Yes, floated.

She had pink ombre curls, six magical rings, and a smile that seemed AI-generated.

"Oh no," Rion groaned. "It's a trope enforcer."

Elaria landed gracefully on the lunch table. "Hi girls! Tee-hee! Let's have fun and never question the narrative!"

Mira smiled. "She's here to neutralize me, isn't she?"

"Yes," Rion said. "And the worst part?"

Elaria looked directly at Mira.

"Oh my gosh! You must be the *new transfer villainess*! Let's be besties until your redemption arc, okay?"

Mira didn't blink. "Okay. Let's."

---

That night in the dorms, Mira held an emergency meeting.

Just three girls showed up.

All looked nervous.

"I'm not starting a rebellion," Mira said. "I'm starting a book club."

Pause.

"About what?"

"Alternative endings."

One girl smiled faintly.

Then whispered, "Do we get to punch a prince?"

"Eventually."

---

The next morning, Mira received her updated script assignment.

> "Elaria Moonbliss and Mira Elen are now co-leads in the new romantic rival subplot."

She stared at it.

"Oh, so now I'm the evil bestie with occasional growth?"

"Yes," Rion said. "They're steering you back into the rail."

Mira cracked her knuckles.

"Time to derail."

---

From across the campus, Elaria stood alone in the rose garden.

She opened her eyes.

The smile faded.

She whispered to herself:

"I'm not supposed to feel threatened. But why do I?"

Then she looked at her hand.

It was shaking.

"Who is Mira Elen?"

And somewhere inside the system core, another ping went off.

> INFLUENCE SCORE: 5

> WARNING: NARRATIVE CORRUPTION SPREADING
