Chapter 86 - chapter_86

Diana was fully relaxed, unaware that Matthew was watching her hungrily from the balcony above.

The lights around the pool made the water perfectly clear, giving him an unbroken view of her pale body as though he were admiring a painting beautiful, delicate, crafted with artistry.

He lit one cigarette after another, drinking in the sight. He wasn't fighting it anymore. He knew even a glance at her body could stir his lust. Gripping the railing, he exhaled smoke through his nose.

He shouldn't go near her.

+Control yourself, damn it!

He muttered under his breath.

Diana grabbed the pool's edge, then pushed herself off strongly, gliding on her back toward the shallower end.

He smirked.

+Look at her swim with those tiny arms.

His phone buzzed. He snatched it up without interest, but his gaze caught Jacob's name on the text.

_'She called me Jake. Ha. I win, buddy ;-)'

A crooked grin spread over his face as he tapped back.

+.🖕🏽. "What an honor…"

He dragged his chair closer to the railing and sat comfortably, pulling up his camera. Zooming in, he tested the quality. Perfect. Recording, he captured her while she swam.

Soon Diana climbed onto the pool steps and sat down, letting the warm water lap over her. Droplets slid down her face, tracing her collarbones and dripping over the swell of her chest. She sighed, closing her eyes as she massaged her shoulder.

+Stop messing with my head, damn it.

Matthew growled, as if she could hear him.

Every little move of hers made him feel like some restless teenager, and he hated it. Yet the new thoughts swirling in his mind… he hated those even more.

Diana finally stepped out of the pool, backed up a few steps, and grinned to herself.

+So… what are you gonna do now?

She dashed forward and cannonballed into the water. When she surfaced, she gasped a few breaths and laughed loudly, almost drunkenly.

The corners of Matthew's eyes crinkled faintly.

+Stupid little brat.

He wasn't used to hearing her laugh so freely. But damn if he didn't want to hear it again, it was unexpectedly sweet.

She repeated it a few more times until she was exhausted. At last, she climbed out and sprawled on a lounge chair, staring up at the night sky. Her breasts was still heaving with quick breaths.

Matthew frowned.

+You want to get sick again?

What would it take to make her move? A thought came to him. He grabbed the remote, flicked on his room lights, and stepped to the balcony, gripping the railing with both hands.

Diana noticed the sudden light and turned her head, spotting him. The height was considerable, but she could swear he was smirking.

Grinding her teeth, she muttered,

-Perverted dickhead.

She cursed under her breath. All she'd wanted was a moment to talk to the moon, but with his piercing stare, even breathing felt hard.

Wrapping her towel tightly around herself, she grabbed her phone and started walking.

Matthew lifted his comm.

+Eyes down till she's passed. Keep it that way unless you want me to rip them out.

Diana pulled her towel closer and glanced at the guards. Their heads were bowed completely.

She chuckled.

-Poor guys.

Not wanting to prolong their discomfort, she hurried inside.

She considered the elevator but remembered she didn't know the code. Instead, she trudged up the stairs. A shiver crept over her as the chill finally sank in.

The guards at the door lowered their heads respectfully as she passed.

Climbing higher, she muttered,

-What's with all these damn stairs?

At last she reached her room. She was drained. A quick shower washed away the chlorine, and she slipped into comfortable clothes before crawling under the covers. A few minutes with her phone and the weight of her eyelids pulled her into sleep.
