Chapter 3 - The Silent Watchers

The sun had barely crested the eastern horizon, yet the Heavenly Scripture Pavilion echoed with energy that defied time. Lin Sheng stood motionless as the old man before him offered a shallow bow—a gesture of deep reverence, not to his power, but to the bloodline he carried.

"The Eternal Star Clan," the man began, "were not only rulers of the Immortal World. They shaped the laws that govern it. You are the sole heir, and many eyes—silent, ancient, and dangerous—are now watching."

Lin Sheng remained composed. "Then let them watch. I've never feared spectators. Only cowards hide from their destiny."

The man gave a faint smile. "Spoken like your ancestors. But beware: power begets envy, and destiny often attracts ruin. You must cultivate in both strength and wisdom."

With a nod, Lin Sheng exited the pavilion, the Forbidden Art still echoing through his veins. Outside, the Sacred Realm had changed. Rumors of his awakening were already spreading, carried by wind spirits and whispered through immortal trees. In the floating city of Dawnspire, an immortal elder furrowed his brows.

"He returned... from Earth of all places. The Clan's final gamble."

In the underworld tombs of the Southern Abyss, a creature formed of shadows opened its lidless eyes and muttered, "Starfire burns again... let chaos bloom."

Back in the Sacred Realm, Lin Sheng received a new prompt:

"Daily Sign-In Location: Skyreign Battlefield Ruins. Probability of Weapon-Type Reward: 81%."

He teleported via a jade talisman given to him by the Pavilion Elder. A flash of light later, he stood in a wasteland—cracked stone, shattered monuments, and spears that pierced the sky like forgotten graves.

"Sign-in successful. Reward: Twilight Fang – Celestial-Grade Sword Spirit."

From the ground rose a sword bathed in moonlight and dusk energy. It hummed softly, then suddenly leapt into Lin Sheng's hand.

A voice—calm and proud—spoke from within the blade: "I am Twilight Fang. Born from starlight and baptized in war. Are you worthy to wield me?"

Without hesitation, Lin Sheng slashed toward a nearby boulder. The air shrieked as the blade cleaved the stone into dust without resistance.

Twilight Fang laughed. "You may be young, but your soul... your soul is ancient. I accept you."
