Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Fake Infinite Tsukuyomi

"Are you selling your Mangekyō Sharingan?"

Uchiha Obito blinked in surprise, the question cutting through his lengthy monologue like a blade. He had been speaking with fervor about his grand ambitions — about the Akatsuki, about reshaping the world — his mouth nearly dry from all the talking. All he truly wanted was to persuade Peter to join his cause.

But Peter, without warning, had suddenly asked if he intended to sell his eyes.

Sell his eyes?

Obito's mind momentarily froze. If he hadn't already considered Peter's strength unfathomable, he might have pointed his finger in outrage and shouted at him.

"What did you just say?" Obito asked in disbelief.

Peter smiled lightly, noticing the flicker of confusion on Obito's face. Perhaps Obito hadn't heard him clearly, so Peter slowed down his tone and enunciated deliberately, "I said — are you going to sell your Mangekyō Sharingan?"

Obito's face darkened. He stared at Peter intently, suspicion flashing in his eyes. He felt mocked, as if Peter was playing some cruel trick on him, mocking the sacred Project Tsuki no Me he had dedicated his life to.

Peter, unfazed by the glare, chuckled softly. "I'm willing to pay a high price. One hundred million for your Mangekyō Sharingan."

Obito regarded him for a long moment, as if testing whether Peter was serious. The boy truly meant it. He wasn't jesting or insulting.

The corner of Obito's mouth twitched beneath his mask. Here stood a pure businessman — shrewd and practical.

Seeing no reaction from Obito, Peter quickly added, "One hundred million is a really high purchase price!"

Obito was at a loss for words. His Mangekyō Sharingan — that powerful ocular treasure — was only worth one hundred million? That seemed ridiculously low for such a precious ability.

"Not for sale," Obito said coldly.

Peter was fully aware Obito wouldn't sell it, but his interest was piqued by something else. Why hadn't Obito asked him about resurrection?

"Brother," Peter said, "don't you have any deceased loved ones or friends you want to bring back?"

"Don't worry, boss," Obito replied with a faint smile under his mask. "I have my own way. Goodbye."

With that, he turned and began to leave.

Peter stood frozen for a moment, watching Obito's retreating figure. What kind of method did he have? Was he planning to let Nagato use Rinne Tensei to bring Rin back?

Impossible. Nagato hadn't even resurrected Yahiko, his closest friend. How could he bring Rin back?

Suddenly, a thought struck Peter — could it be the Infinite Tsukuyomi?

Obito had been fooled by Madara's lies, and Madara, in turn, had been deceived by Black Zetsu.

Infinite Tsukuyomi was a scam.

Peter's voice cut through the air, calm but firm: "Uchiha Obito... actually, Infinite Tsukuyomi was a trick planted by Black Zetsu."

Obito stopped dead in his tracks. He turned slowly, disbelief flashing in his eyes as he stared at Peter. Shock and suspicion warred within him.

How could this boy know my identity? How could he know about Infinite Tsukuyomi?

Obito's sharp gaze locked onto Peter's calm expression, narrowing with sudden menace. He advanced toward Peter, voice cold as ice: "How do you know my identity?"

Obito was sure he had never revealed himself. How could this boy know? And why claim that Infinite Tsukuyomi was a lie?

Peter smiled quietly, unfazed by the threat. "As the inscription on the stone pillar says, I am omniscient and omnipotent..."

He wasn't boasting. Peter had access to a vast web of information — he could buy or exchange secrets, gather knowledge from all corners of the world.

But ever since he had seen the Hokage, he had known about these things without spending a single coin.

Obito's eyes narrowed further. "What exactly do you mean when you say Infinite Tsukuyomi is fake?"

Peter raised five fingers. "This piece of information is worth five hundred thousand taels."

Suddenly, the air rippled like a whirlpool. Five hundred thousand taels materialized on the counter out of thin air.

With a casual wave, Peter made the money vanish.

Obito's eyes widened, surprised to see the mastery of space-time ninjutsu before him.

Peter began his explanation: "It all started thousands of years ago, with Ōtsutsuki Kaguya..."

Eight hundred words omitted here for brevity but fully detailed in the full manuscript.

After Peter's explanation, Obito's eyes widened in disbelief. His face betrayed his shock as the full truth sank in.

He collapsed to the ground, trembling slightly, voice hoarse: "So I was just a chess piece... Haha..."

The weight of the revelation crushed him like a landslide.

For years, Obito had carried a heavy burden, his back bent under the weight of his mission. Now, that burden finally broke.

"Infinite Tsukuyomi is fake..." Obito whispered. He slowly removed his mask, revealing half of his face scarred and disfigured.

Beneath the mask, his expression was one of pure misery — despair and pain reflected in his eyes.

He had been deceived for so many years, believing he had found a path to save the world.

Instead, he was just a pawn in a grand illusion.

For this lie, he had plotted for years, betrayed and murdered his own teacher, betrayed his village, and taken innocent lives.

And all of it was for an illusion — Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The weight of his actions pressed down on him.

Tears welled in his eyes, and he let them fall freely.

He remembered his younger self — that sunny, optimistic boy who dreamed of becoming Hokage and protecting the village he loved.

But now, he was an executioner stained with blood, hated by the entire ninja world.

How could he face himself? How could he make amends?

At that moment, Obito finally understood — the Infinite Tsukuyomi he had pursued was not salvation, but a scam, a cruel deception.

Peter watched silently. To be honest, this foolish boy was pitiful.

He had been fooled by Uchiha Madara's words, turned from a hopeful child into a bitter enemy of the world.

Obito sat quietly for a long time before rising slowly to his feet. With trembling hands, he wiped away his tears.

Then, he bowed deeply to Peter.

"Thank you, boss. Thank you for telling me the truth."

His voice was full of gratitude — no longer imitating Madara's low tone, but his own true voice.

Peter smiled gently. "So, what are your plans now?"

Obito lifted his head and met Peter's gaze, his expression serious.

"Boss, I want to atone for my mistakes. I want to resurrect my teacher and his wife."

Peter's eyes gleamed with excitement at the prospect.

Resurrecting a single person cost twenty billion. Two would be forty billion. If Lin was included, that would be sixty billion.

Damn, how much commission would he earn?

Peter laughed and patted Obito's shoulder warmly. "Good boy. It takes courage to admit mistakes and seek redemption."

Obito bowed respectfully. "Thank you for your guidance, boss."

In that moment, Obito's respect for Peter grew beyond measure. To him, Peter was more powerful than even the legendary Sage of Six Paths.

Obito would undoubtedly be one of Peter's biggest clients going forward.

With the Mangekyō Sharingan, burglary was child's play compared to what he could do.

Peter suddenly recalled Black Zetsu's penetrating abilities — almost like invisibility, perfect for robbing a bank unnoticed.

In fact, Black Zetsu was already en route to a bank, just as Peter had suspected...

Peter grinned and clasped Obito's shoulders firmly.

"Young man, luckily there's still hope to fix everything. Your earnings might be slow now, but when the time comes, you should resurrect your teacher first. Judging by how fast the yellow flash moves, I believe it won't be long before you bring back your mistress too."

Obito nodded solemnly, determination lighting his eyes.

This time, he was no longer a pawn in someone else's game.

He would rewrite his destiny.
