Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Who Knew Celestials Were Hot?

CAUTION: PLEASE DON'T PERFORM DANGEROUS ACTS MENTIONED HERE. THIS IS MERELY FICTION.

I was taken to a lavish parlour where they got me prepared. I had a white veil, which covered my face. I had a simple white high-low dress which perfectly fit me, with an off-shoulder neckline. The neckline was decorated with pearls which shined when under moonlight. My hair was curled into waves and the parlour maid was just finishing putting compact on my cheeks.

"Madame, we are done."

She looked at me sympathetically before she looked down at her feet.

"Would you like some time to yourself?"

To be honest, I'd rather just drown then think about my life before a few hours ago. It would be too heartbreaking.

"No. Let's get this done with."

"Very well, I shall call for the guards and then the priests." She responded aptly.

I looked in the mirror at myself. I felt uncomfortable looking like this.

The guards came into the room and guided me to the direction of the cliff in which I will jump near the Holy River Nyx.

The priests started chanting as I made my way through to the edge.

"May the Celestial of Darkness bless us with pleasant nights with this offering!" The priests said in unison.

I wanted to scream so desperately to tell them I'm human and NOT an offering. The chanting got louder as I moved closer to edge.

The head priest then remarked, "The Sacred Bride will now offer herself to the Celestial of Darkness to end the Thirteen Nights."

Well, these were my last moments on Earth. Damn you, Celestial of Darkness – why couldn't I have gotten a better Celestial, like the Celestial of Fire or the Celestial of Earth.

I took in the surroundings of Earth, then I closed my eyes a leap of faith and dived into the river. The river was surprisingly deep and it was really…..blue? My eyes closed as I drowned down the deep river. My corpse dropped to the riverbed as I became unconscious. The only thing I could think about was my loved ones. Was this really my demise?

I woke up to see a hot guy hovering over me.

"Hello, hot guy?"

I peered around my surroundings. All I see is a room adorned with white rose petals, with a white bed and a fire place opposite the bed. I see a small seating space and an door made of oak.

And when I looked up, I saw a man with a serene gravitas, like a forgotten king who was woven from moonlight and memory. His long silvery-white hair cascades past his shoulders, crowned with an intricately wrought golden circlet. His dark robe, embroidered with gilded patterns creates a striking contrast against the luminous tones of his hair and jewelry. Around his neck rests a regal necklace, its central gemstone or sigil catching the light like a watchful eye.

He responded to my greeting with a smirk. "Hello, my dear bride."

My gaze froze. It was the Celestial of Darkness.

"First of all, get off me. I am not your bride."

He looked at me and then laughed.

"That doesn't explain why you were sent as an offering?"

Ugh. This guy has already gotten on my nerves and I've been awake for barely a minute.

"For God's sake, I am not an offering!"

"Mhm," He responded sarcastically.

He's goodlooking but annoying. How not fun!

"Second of all, I need new clothes. My dress is soaking wet."

He clasped his hands as he smiled enthusiastically.

"I'm glad I prepared clothes for you before you came! I hope they're too your liking!"

He used his powers and teleported the wardrobe here.

I opened the wardrobe only to find that this Celestial does have good fashion taste.

"Wait, these dresses are so cute!"

"I figured you would like them, but you can only get them if you do something for me. A favour for a favour."

I looked at him and gave him a judgemental stare.

"Was becoming a Sacred Bride not enough of a favour." I muttered sourly under my breath.

He raised his eyebrow but proceeded to go on, "You have to call me by my first name."

"And what is your first name?"

"Kaelion, Celestial of Darkness. Pleasure to meet you Aella Therinos."
