Chapter 1 - Pearl

The streets bustled with a vigor everyweek. This week was going to be no different than the rest of them.

The table shook as Gwen slammed her glass on the table, downing an unholy amount of vodka through the shot. It was also no co-incidence that the lime wheeled off the table meeting it's untimely demise as the second it hit the bar's polished yet terribly dirty floor. It was also no co-incidence that her drink also spilled over the ashtray which was salt, filled neatly like a sandbox upto the brim. Loud rock music cancelled thand the unhealthy amount of disco strobe lights piercing her eyelids were a good distraction to the fact that the alcohol and food she just ate were almost regurgitated out of her own body.

Adam yelled the lyrics with a wide smile. He could feel one part of his face had a wider smile. He had a bit of a headache for the split-second, so he just stopped thinking about the insecurity. He started to focus on his date. The obnoxiously put rouge lipstick, hiding the messy make-out they had 5 minutes in the bathroom before this very second that made her look like an average whore on a shady dimly lit street late at night. Her slightly wedged front tooth that Adam wanted to kiss back in it's place.

"Her eye-lashes are so cute.", Adam thought.

The pearls around her necklace. Adam started to think about oysters.

Then food.

Clam.

Rock.

Head.

Adam screamed out loud with his hand in the air and a piece of rock as he hit her stupid little dumb face into smithereens. Her face looked mangled as if a truck just hit her face and her head has gotten trapped between the railing cornering the road. Her head swayed with the wind, becoming moist as it hit the remaining bloody part of her face, soon reaching Adam's fingers which were massaging the unfortunate woman's eyeballs. The birds cooed as the cool sea waves seemed to calm down Adam's wrecking nerves.

This is why he hated going out on weekdays.

He scoffed as he reluctantly put her in a taxi while she mumbled off something stupid to the taxi driver, and after the 4th time he asked "Where to, Ma'am?", in an Indian accent, Adam decided his time was worth more than this.

He gently caressed her face feeling up her jawline before cupping her chin and making her look towards her

"I'll see you on Saturday."

A combination of a frown and a pout spread across her face. She hid it after a few seconds behind a warm yet innocent smile.

"Mhm. See you.", she kissed Adam back as he ducked his head inside the cab.

Adam wandered around the streets for a while. Today was a Thursday. One day remaining for the weekend. He smiled and crept his hands into his pockets, feeling his own body heat as an involuntary smile spread across his face. He couldn't pinpoint if it was because of the copius amounts of narcotics in his bloodstream or the fact that it was going to be the weekend in a day.
