Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: The Hidden Observers

Author notes: In the last chapter Guangling Douluo was able to easily deal with others, because while his ice attribute was not ultimate ice , it was close to it and other attacking him with ice was like children throwing Mud balls at an adult.

Here's the next chapter . Enjoy!

As Nalan Yan had assumed, Guangling was not gazing at the horizon like a proud peacock. In the direction of his gaze, hidden among a snow-veiled trees, the air shimmered and two cloaked figures emerged from the distortion, revealing their forms under the pale moonlight.

They were Qian Daoliu and Qian Renxue.

They had not been far from the battlefield.

In fact, Qian Daoliu and Qian Renxue had been watching from less than a kilometer away. But no one sensed them not even the Spirit Douluo-level elders.

And the reason for this was simple.

Qian Daoliu was not an ordinary Titled Douluo.

He was a Peerless Douluo, one who had stood at the apex of power for decades. His control over his spiritual aura and soul power was terrifying. By suppressing their presence completely and bending the surrounding soul fluctuations, he created a zone of absolute concealment.

Unless someone reached the Titled Douluo level or had a specialized spiritual detection technique they would perceive nothing.

No one except Guangling had reched Titled Douluo level in the previous skirmish.

Guangling Douluo stood some distance away, arms folded behind his back, expression unreadable. As the wind carried away the last remnants of the ambush below, he turned and greeted them with a slight nod.

"So you were watching, Elder Brother" Guangling said, his voice calm but tinged with amusement. He looked toward Qian Daoliu and asked, "Elder Brother, why did you ask me to spare them? You knew I could've wiped the slate clean."

Qian Daoliu's aged eyes locked onto Guangling's, then slowly shifted to his granddaughter and back. "Because as entertaining as your little game was, killing the City Lord and a top elder of the Bing Clan would have thrown Winter City into chaos. And chaos draws attention."

He paused, his gaze sharpening. "We don't need political unrest in this region."

Then he turned fully toward Qian Renxue, his tone suddenly stern and fatherly. "And you… it seems I've been too indulgent with you. Orchestrating this entire drama, you were the one that asked Guangling to take the role of harmless noble rich boy, who just came out to experience the world."

Qian Renxue flinched slightly. She had just confirmed internally that she'd digested about 15% of the Spectator's Sequence when his words hit like a whip.

"But Grandpa," she protested, golden eyes shimmering with amusement, "weren't you watching too? Didn't this whole incident perfectly reveal their true nature? Greedy, Short-sighted and Cowardly. The moment they thought they could steal from someone weaker, they pounced. But the moment power revealed itself… they scattered like frightened dogs."

"This is the truth of the world, isn't it?" she continued, quieter now, but with more edge. "Everyone is selfish. They'll do anything to trick, kill, betray, just to attain what they desire. And they think they can get away with it."

She continued not letting Qian Daoliu interrupt "And besides Grandfather Guangling didn't even start the fight. They were the ones who attacked first."

"Hmph! Don't call me Grandfather," Guangling interrupted, his tone smug. "Call me Brother."

Renxue blinked, then stuck out her tongue, mockingly. "Acting like you're young, but you're just an old monster."

"You—!" Guangling's brow twitched. "Ungrateful brat. I should've let you get lectured when you first discussed this plan with me. If had said all of it to Elder Brother, lecture was the last thing you should be worried about."

Saying this Guangling Douluo smiled.

The air seemed to crackle between the two. A verbal war was brewing, and neither looked willing to back down.

Qian Daoliu's face darkened into a storm cloud. They were ignoring him.

"Enough," he commanded, voice laced with soul power. The air stilled.

He stepped forward and effortlessly scooped Qian Renxue into his arms like a sack of potatoes. She blinked, still trying to maintain her innocent facade.

"I'll personally teach you the virtues of chivalry that our Angel Clan upholds," he muttered with iron resolve.

Internally, Qian Renxue screamed, 'No need, Grandpa! I already know what your chivalry brings, mockery, loss, and being walked over by hypocrites! In the original timeline, so many must have cursed your name for being soft.'

But none of that showed on her face. She simply made an "aww" expression while quietly preparing for the upcoming "lessons."

"We're returning to Spirit Hall," Qian Daoliu declared, ignoring any further protests.

With that, he released his Martial Soul. Six radiant wings unfolded behind him, lighting the snow in a golden halo. With a powerful flap, he shot into the sky, his speed leaving behind thunderous echoes in the air. Qian Renxue's voice was drowned in the rush of wind as she was carried off.

Guangling Douluo stayed behind, hands in his sleeves, watching the streak of light vanish over the horizon.

He exhaled softly. "Well, that was fun."

And then, like a shadow he followed the streak of light, and vanished into the snow.
