Chapter 43 - Saviors

Cassian didn't understand what was going on, nor why there were other people there in the bed where he remembered sleeping alone with Yefeng.

There were two rooms: one was for the men and the other for the women. Since the women outnumbered the men, they took the room with three beds, leaving the men with the room that had only one bed.

He didn't mind sharing it with Yefeng, since the bed was large. But since Yefeng was supposed to be on the last shift, he was supposed to wake up alone, not with two people.

Cassian didn't understand. Last night, while they were eating, they talked about the possibility of what was happening in the village, but something like this was not expected.

But seriously, when?

Even as he thought about it, he remained alert, as the man seemed ready to attack at any moment and didn't take his eyes off him.

"?"

That's when he noticed he had extra weight on his back. When he checked what it was, he realized it was Yeling. He held her like a cat and asked her.

"Do you know what happened?"

"..." (They appeared out of nowhere. I tried to wake you up, but...)

"Huh? Out of nowhere? So it was you who was shaking me and wanted to separate me from that sexy... I mean, beautiful tanned MILF?"

"..." (Sexy? Tanned?)

"Ahem!, forget the 'extra' words. What about the rest?"

"..." (I don't know.)

This isn't a good situation, hmm...

Cassian thought about what to do as he looked at the man. He had a gun and was assessing how to disable him and ask for an explanation.

"Honey, the kids! One of them screamed earlier."

"Wait! This man seems very dangerous. I feel like the moment I let my guard down, it will be the end. You go, I'll keep him at bay and—"

"Hey! What's going on? I suddenly feel danger here! Whose voice was that? Ah!"

"Damn, there are more!"

Just as the man and woman seemed to be talking—without taking their eyes off Cassian—Yefeng suddenly entered the door with Naelune and Celestine.

They were the last surveillance group, and upon seeing the situation, the man became even more aggressive, thinking that he had been surrounded and that the exit was blocked.

"Let's get out of here. The situation is unknown; we need room to maneuver."

But at that moment, Valeriane's voice came from the hallway, she was running while holding Ellys and a sword.

Oh, now.

Cassian, taking advantage of the man's divided attention, quickly moved toward the exit.

Yefeng and the rest also reacted and moved.

Bang!

Valeriane broke through the door, and the seven of them quickly left the house.

"Huh? Who are they?"

"What's going on?"

"Why are they leaving Yefaziel house?"

"They're armed, be careful!"

"..."

When they went outside, an unfamiliar situation awaited them, with the first rays of morning light illuminating the white adobe buildings.

There were also many people to be seen: some who were just passing by, others who heard the commotion and came, and others who simply lived nearby.

It was a normal reaction. The problem was that no one was supposed to be there.

The most bewildered were Yefeng, Naelune, and Celestine, who had been keeping watch until just a moment ago.

"We're surrounded. Get ready, form a circle around Miss Ellys."

Valeriane, seeing the situation in which they were surrounded by several dozen people, prepared for the worst, especially since some were armed and seemed to be turning hostile toward them.

"Wait, look at their foreheads. They have the stigma of our god!"

"Ah! That's right! That's why I feel that divinity from them."

"They are the Saviors of the prophecy."

"They are the ones who will save us!."

"Haah~ but that means it's inevitable, the tide."

"So after all, it was the test of our people."

"Tsk! Anyway, we were prepared for that."

"Yes, yes, if they are here, everything will be fine. At least it won't be extermination."

"Somos guerreros, estara bien aunque muramos, en batalla, Será suficiente si la próxima generación sobrevive".

"Yes, my little one will survive, I'll make sure of it, I'll be at the forefront."

"The most important thing is to give notice to the leader, we have to prepare ourselves."

"..."

Cassian's group was confused. Suddenly, what seemed like a tense situation turned into something strange.

They looked at each other to see if there was a stigma or something on their foreheads, but none of them saw anything.

The situation was confusing, and he still couldn't let his guard down.

"They seem confused. If we don't explain, they might attack us. I'll take care of it."

At that moment, the man who had almost pierced Cassian with his spear came out of the house, accompanied by the mature woman and three young people.

"I'm sorry for the misunderstanding earlier, I didn't think you were our saviors. My name is Yefaziel, welcome."

The man spoke calmly and introduced himself. Cassian didn't really understand the situation, so he looked at Veleriane, who was the leader. She seemed to be analyzing the situation.

"Well, Now I don't sense any danger from any of them."

"..."

Valeria heard what Yefeng said, yet she did not let her guard down, but she couldn't stay like that. She looked at the man and spoke.

"Who are you, where did you come from, where did you appear?"

"Hmm? Saviors, that is... well, I think those should be some of our questions, but they became unnecessary when you showed the stigma of our god on your foreheads."

"What stigma? We don't see anything. Who is your god?"

"Who? Is this a test? There is only one true god, isn't there? And you are his emissaries."

"..."

"~Little Knight, I think this is..."

"~Yes, It's another test of some kind, but there's still not much information."

"Well, if you want more information, I can take you to the leader."

"Well, it seems like he have good hearing, so Little Knight, shall we do it or take a risk and make our way out of here? It doesn't seem like they'll attack us even if we do."

"… You're right, but after all, this is a test site... I think it's better to get information and think about what to do next. What do you think?"

"That seems reasonable."

"All right."

"Yes, I agree."

"You are our leader."

"..."

"I agree too, but why don't you ask the little dragon to use the artifac she got? It feels uncomfortable to plan when I know they are listening to us..."

"..., He said his name was Yefaziel, right? Does he understand what we're doing here?"

"Yes, although I don't know the details. If you want to know more, our leader will give you a full explanation. I'll guide you and tell you what I know."

"Yes, I'd really appreciate that."

In the end, following Veleriane's idea, they decided to see what the situation was about, and Yefaziel, seeing the acceptance that the group leader seemed to have, began to lead the way and guide them to the village leader.

..

Word had spread, and the few dozen people at the beginning had grown into a crowd of hundreds.

And although it was a large crowd, they did not interfere with their path; everyone watched with interest from the sidelines.

Now that it was daylight, they had a clear view of this town, all the structures appeared to be made of white adobe, with a few others made of white stone or hybrids with some wood included.

The white color gave the whole place an immaculate feel, not to mention that all the inhabitants wore something resembling white robes; some wore only that, but others also wore armor that looked like silver or platinum, like the one Veleriane originally had.

Everyone had different skin colors, although there was nothing extravagant like red or others. But there was something curious: absolutely everyone had hair in shades of red, yellow, or orange, and to top it off, their eyes were also a random combination of those three colors, like Yefaziel, who had yellow hair and red eyes, as well as a white tunic with platinum armor.

..

They were walking through the crowd, and once they passed them, they began to march along with them behind. Veleriane was in front, with Yefaziel giving them a tour and a superficial explanation of their city and the prophecies passed down in their town.

The fact that so many people were looking at them and following them was, to say the least, stressful. But Cassian didn't care; rather, he was more interested in something else.

Specifically: the orange-haired, copper-skinned MILF he woke up hugging. She was walking alongside his group, with the three young.

Perhaps sensing Cassian's gaze, their eyes met, and she smiled at him and approached him.

"About earlier, I'm sorry. My husband acted impulsively; he didn't think our saviors would be summoned to our house. It's an honor. We also apologize for our children; they already told us what happened, and I'm sorry about that too."

"No problem."

"...I-same."

The woman spoke first, addressing Cassian, while the second part was directed at Ellys, next to Cassian.

Unlike Cassian, with so many eyes on her, she felt seriously pressured; for some reason, that made her approach Cassian and hold his hand.

Like Cassian, she and Veleriane, they woke up next to someone, who was a boy of about ten years old, another of thirteen, while the oldest was a woman who looked like a young adult. In the end, nothing happened because Veleriane incapacitated them and left.

So there really weren't any problems, and Cassian wasn't either... the latter was more interested in the fact that the woman with the sweet smile and voluptuous body approached him.

She was beautiful, though she lagged a bit behind the spider woman I had seen before, but that didn't matter..

"Um... excuse me, beautiful lady, I have a question for you."

"Fufu, what a cute young man, calling me beautiful. Oh, wait, I shouldn't be so informal with divine envoys, I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay, you can do that. More importantly, I have a question."

"Oh! If it's something I know, I'd be happy to answer."

"Yes, could you tell me how good your relationship with your husband is?..."
