Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

Well after we spoke to Kaya's mother Maya she invited us to eat but seeing as we had already eaten no one ate except for me Alvida is exceptionally friendly and she's naive after seeing me with a sword, Zoro with three swords, and Alvida holding a mace she still let us in the house without questioning our motive well technically she did us what we did want.

A few minutes ago, we met Kaya. Now that was a little bit surprising because I thought Usopp would've already met her by now, but it makes sense if you think about how Usopp started meeting her to tell her lies to cheer her up from her sadness about losing her parents, and she hasn't lost any of her parents yet.

I also thought I would meet her father, but he is currently out looking for a doctor. Nobody seemed sick, so if I had to guess, I would say Kaya was already studying to be a doctor and needed someone to teach her. Both Kaya and her mother, Maya, like us, but Merry is extremely suspicious of us. As soon as we got in the house, he went to find a pistol and put it in his jacket pocket.

"So, have you guys been on any fun adventures yet?" Kaya asked

"Well, a few days ago, to recruit a sleeping Alvida, we had to fight a hundred pirates to enter the island."

"Correction, what he meant was I had to fight a hundred pirates to enter the island while he stood there and watched," Zoro said

"Well, I did give you a lot of pointers and advice, Zoro. I would call that a group effort. Listen to me, Kaya, if a person has never been to the Grand Line, they haven't been to any fun adventures, because if you have never seen the Grand Line, there's nothing to compare that adventure to."

"To be honest, Ace, the way you speak about the grand line, it's like you're speaking from experience, like you've been there before."

"No, nothing like that, but my father was a pirate, and he's lived in the Grandline for some time."

"Ever since I was a child, every story I heard about the Grandline is downright awful, and it seems you guys plan on taking only a dozen people there. Are you guys sure that's enough?"

"Let me tell you a secret, Kaya, when you're a real-deal pirate, you don't need more than thirty guys aboard your ship. Someone like me only needs about eight to ten guys, but just in case, I would like to recruit about fifteen to twenty guys."

"So, who do you plan on recruiting next if we give you the Going Merry?"

When she asks that question, I point my finger at Usopp and say

"Him, he's the one I'm currently recruiting to be our sniper".

Usopp spat out the juice he was drinking and said

"You were serious about that. I thought you were joking when you said that."

"I don't joke about recruiting people to join my crew, and I would like for you to join me and be a pirate with us. Don't you plan on leaving this island and becoming a pirate someday?"

"Yeah, but why would you want someone like me to join your crew?"

"Simply, you're the biggest coward I've ever seen, and for someone who is supposed to be a coward you're pretty brave when it counts you have qualities I would want someone on my crew to have besides you have a lot of hidden talents and skills that could prove useful down the line besides pirate gene is in your blood just like it is in mine so what do you say Usopp you want to be a pirate with us?"
