Chapter 177 - Somewhere peace, somewhere destruction

Legacy of the Peach Blossom Academy

Fate had just landed a ruthless slap across someone's face.

In Master Kinji Yo's trembling hand was a blackened, half-burnt scroll.....

A final message from his own spiritual beast, the serpent.....

sent just before its demise.

When the Twin Phoenixes received their master's command,

they tore through the skies like blazing arrows.

Before them stood the enormous serpentine spiritual beast.....

a black snake, fierce and monstrous.

But the Twin Phoenixes...

They were no ordinary beasts.

They belonged to the Royal Lineage of Black Heaven,

the spiritual guardians of a forgotten king.

They were calamity incarnate.

Without a moment's hesitation,

they swooped down upon the serpent, wings glowing with divine fury.

Their talons clutched it mid-air, injecting it with a venomous divine power.

The snake stilled....but only for a moment.

For it, too, was powerful.

What followed was a celestial war.

The sky became a battlefield of flame and thunder.

The Twin Phoenixes attacked relentlessly....

talons tearing, wings breathing fire,

turning the heavens into a silent volcano.

And yet....

not even a single leaf rustled below.

Such was the precision of their sacred war.....

silent, deadly, divine.

Each side gave its all.

Neither willing to fall.

Then, the Twin Phoenixes unleashed their final move.

The serpent... it knew.

It closed its eyes in surrender,

and in that moment, a scroll materialized.....

hovering in the air like a whisper....

before vanishing into nothingness.

Its last message.

To Master Kinji Yo.

The Twin Phoenixes opened their eyes once more.

Wings stretched wide....

a cyclone of divine wind blasted forth.

This was no ordinary attack.

Thousands of ethereal feathers shot forth from their wings,

each one turned into a dagger....

shaped by the power in their divine gaze.

The serpent's body was pierced again and again.....

until silence claimed the sky.

Below, Kinji Yo trembled.

Above, his beasts rained divine fury.

When Kinji Yo finally read the message....

a plea of forgiveness from his serpent,

and the grim truth that neither the assassin nor the guardian survived.....

Sweat broke across his cold face.

Fear. Rage. Terror. Greed.

All exploded within him at once.

His heart had always hungered for the throne.

He thought, if Mo Yan were to die,

he would become the sole High King of the realm.

That had always been his true intention....

Behind the calm smile,

behind the fake discipline,

behind the false respect for the Academy…

A wolf in a sheep's robe.

He wanted the world to see him as noble....

a perfect, deserving leader.

But no matter how much perfume you pour,

a beast remains a beast.

Now, a single truth had become clear to him.....

As long as Mo Yan's protector lived, killing Mo Yan was impossible.

And so,

from the dark corners of his cunning, merciless mind.....

he wove a new plan.

A plan that could turn the entire world upside down.

---

But far away from his malice,

there bloomed a moment of quiet peace...

a silence soft like velvet,

a comfort that only love and long journeys could create.

In a serene room,

Wuzu, Lao Duan, Su Nian, and Duie sat together.

They were sipping on white lotus tea,

brewed gently by Duie herself.

The room echoed with the gentle clinks of their sips.

The air was filled with the sweet, warm fragrance of tea....

and on their faces, a calm smile bloomed....

one not seen in centuries.
