Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: Their Friendship

Replenishing energy was naturally Victini's specialty.

Lin Feng placed a plate of small round cakes on the ground and waved at Victini.

"Vi…"

Though Victini wasn't entirely sure why the pull from the portal had suddenly stopped, the sight of the treats immediately drew him in. He flew over without a second thought.

While Victini was busy eating the cakes, Lin Feng brought Jirachi over and stood in front of him.

"Victini, may I ask you for a favor?"

"Vi?"

Victini put down the cake in his hand, tilting his head curiously at Lin Feng.

Lin Feng held Jirachi carefully and explained, "It's about transferring your energy to Jirachi. Did you see that message earlier? I opened it according to Jirachi's wish, and that's why you were brought here."

"Right now, Jirachi's energy is low. Without a boost, he'll fall asleep and you'd be pulled back in."

"Vi?" Victini's eyes widened instantly.

After the initial shock, he quickly adjusted. Being around Alolan Vulpix seemed to have a naturally uplifting effect. Any Pokémon nearby would almost automatically feel lighter, happier.

"Vi?" (Is this for real?)

Jirachi, however, felt a little awkward.

"Jirachi…" (Actually, it's Lin Feng's wish…)

"Vi!" (This is amazing!)

Victini stared at Jirachi, eyes sparkling. He could hardly believe a Pokémon could take him this far in a single effort. It was incredible.

At that moment, the portal behind him began to stir subtly again. The sudden pull reminded Victini of Lin Feng's words.

He grabbed Jirachi's hand and immediately began transferring energy.

"Jirachi!"

The instant Victini's energy touched Jirachi, the sleepy little Pokémon's eyes shot open. The sugar boost had faded, and he had started to drift back toward sleep, but Victini's energy revitalized him completely. A steady stream of power flowed from Victini into Jirachi, and he could feel it clearly.

Seeing Jirachi and the new companions safe, Alolan Vulpix tugged Lin Feng's pants insistently, eager to know who this "new teammate" was. Even Gardevoir looked on curiously.

Everyone had witnessed the sudden snowstorm earlier. That was far beyond the Snow Warning ability Alolan Vulpix could currently produce.

Lin Feng no longer hid the truth. "This is Victini. He comes from a very, very distant place called Eindok Town. He's the Victory Pokémon, brimming with limitless energy. Legends say that a trainer who bonds with him will win all battles."

"The energy he carries can temporarily boost a Pokémon's power to incredible levels. That's why our little Vulpix was able to unleash such a massive snowstorm."

"Viyaa!?" Alolan Vulpix's eyes went wide, stunned that the new teammate it had recruited was a legendary Pokémon.

"Vi…"

At last, Victini finished transferring energy to Jirachi. He hovered in the air, looking a little tired. It was strange—he had given so much energy, yet Jirachi seemed to drink it endlessly, as though he could never be sated.

Still, thinking of the sweet little cakes and the new friends he had met, Victini didn't hesitate. He continued sending energy to Jirachi without reserve.

"Jirachi!"

The energy infusion revitalized Jirachi, who floated in the air, full of vitality. He shouted excitedly, "Lin Feng, I feel so clear-headed now!"

But seeing Victini looking slightly weak, he worried. "Victini, are you okay?"

"Vi…Vi~" (I'm fine. I'll recover quickly.)

Victini grinned and made a "V" sign with his paw at Jirachi. After a brief moment of weakness, he quickly regained his usual energy and looked at Lin Feng, licking his lips—a clear signal of his next desire.

"All right, all right, here you go…"

Seeing Victini's eager expression, Lin Feng laughed and didn't hesitate to bring out all the remaining small round cakes.

"Vi~~"

Victini felt as if he had plunged into a sea of happiness. Even before tasting them, he knew they would be delicious. And indeed, they were exactly as wonderful as he imagined. Once he ate the first cake, he couldn't stop.

Alolan Vulpix watched, puzzled, at her own plate. The cakes were tasty, but too many could feel greasy. She usually only took a bite or two. Only Blaziken ate without concern, enjoying every bit of his meal.

Sometimes, after lunch, he would grab fruits or milk straight from the cow shed, or scoop up sweet honey from the bees. On one occasion, Combee had caught him in the act. Combee only trusted Lin Feng and the Hatrem siblings for such tasks, so they had mistaken Blaziken for a thief.

Lin Feng had been shocked when he heard about it. But every day afterward, fresh milk and honey appeared in the fridge at home.

Was this why Victini loved the small cakes so much? Because he had never had such delicious food before?

Lin Feng pushed the plate closer and watched Victini, who looked up at the new treats—fried fish, meat patties, energy blocks, and cabbage leaves. The combination was perfect.

"Viyaa?" (Can I eat this?)

Victini lifted his head from the cakes and blinked at the feast before him.

Alolan Vulpix, not caring that he was a legendary Pokémon, patted him like a leader and said, "Of course! Who said I'm the captain!"

"Vi…"

He picked up an energy block and swallowed it. A cold chill ran through him, yet it felt strangely refreshing. Today would be, without a doubt, the luckiest and happiest day in his thousand-year life. He would remember it forever.

"Is it good?" Alolan Vulpix blinked, eager for a reaction.

"Vi~"

Victini nodded vigorously.

Meanwhile, Mew finished her catnip cake and felt completely at ease. Glowing with vitality, she flew over to Jirachi and Victini.

"I too!" Mew exclaimed excitedly.

Jirachi immediately introduced Victini to Mew.

"This is Mew. She's incredibly strong and can transform into any Pokémon—even a Sky God!"

"Vi?" Victini's eyes widened, holding his small cake.

"Of course!" Mew beamed, placing a paw on Victini. In the next instant, a perfect copy of Victini appeared!

Victini looked around, amazed, unable to spot any difference. "Vi~!" (This is amazing!)

Mew returned to her original form and took Victini's paw. "Come on, I'll show you our little treasure trove."

Jirachi and Victini took to the sky together. Lin Feng called out from below, "Mew, don't let Victini and Jirachi go too far. Make sure Jirachi's energy stays up!"

Lin Feng looked on as the other three mythical Pokémon and Alolan Vulpix stayed behind. She protested lightly that her friend had been taken away. Lin Feng scooped her up, soothing her. "Don't worry, little one. These Pokémon haven't traveled far before. It's good for them to get some fresh air and adventure."

Alolan Vulpix seemed confused but accepted the explanation. She ran off to play with Dragonair.

Lin Feng's gaze drifted to the portal in the sky, a warm feeling stirring in his chest.

Gardevoir floated over, bringing a cup of honey wine. Lin Feng took it, curious.

"They're having so much fun!" Gardevoir whispered.

Lin Feng drank in one gulp, a vivid scene forming in his mind. A crescent moon hung in the sky, and familiar faces—Jirachi, Mew, and the newly acquainted Victini—soared over mountains and oceans. Beneath them, the clear sea shimmered as if the moon was within reach.

Victini gazed at the vast ocean in wonder. It was a world he had never seen before.

They finally reached the World Tree and Mew's little treasure trove, where she shared the items she had collected during her travels—tiny drums, magic cubes, dolls, or special stones.

The three Pokémon, each with their own unique abilities and strength, laughed like children around the treasures before snuggling together to sleep.

Lin Feng couldn't help but marvel, "They're really happy."

As dinner wound down, Blaziken burped, Butterfree sipped honey wine under Hatrem's supervision, and wobbled toward the cow shed. His nest was a wooden box, filled with Wooloo wool. As the weather grew colder, Lin Feng planned to move it into a heated glass enclosure in the villa.

Serperior tried to leave the garden, but its spiritual senses detected a faint presence. Someone was quietly crawling out of the water channel.

It was Wartortle. Somehow, he had learned to sense spiritual energy. Perhaps he had been lingering near the garden, curious whether there were still Pokémon gathering food.

Meanwhile, Mew, Jirachi, and Victini hadn't gone directly to the World Tree. Following Jirachi's memory, they had first flown over Wutong Town and a nearby forest, ending up by a small stream where a smooth, shiny stone caught their attention.

"Vi?" Victini tilted his head.

"It's a Wishing Stone! Everyone's wishes are written here!" Jirachi said excitedly. From his perspective, hundreds of sparkling points of light glimmered across the stone, each representing a wish made by someone who had seen the shooting star. The emotional energy accumulated on the stone, causing its special properties to manifest.

"Yo, meow?" Meowth asked curiously, peering over.

"Jira…" Jirachi nodded vigorously.
