Thump!

In an instant, countless people connected to Ye Lan felt a sudden, agonizing constriction in their chests.

Bibi Dong propped herself up against her desk, her face contorted in pain. A towering pillar of purple malice erupted from her body as she gasped in disbelief, "Lan'er...!!?"

"Impossible! Nothing could have happened to Lan'er!"

With a burst of violet energy, she shot into the sky, streaking toward the western reaches of the continent at full speed.

In the Saint's Palace, Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Ye Lingling stood ashen-faced, staring at one another in shock.

"Teacher... has something happened to him?" Zhu Zhuqing asked, her voice trembling with unease.

"No way! Ye Lan would never let anything happen to himself! How could that bastard possibly be in trouble!?" Ning Rongrong denied it loudly, her eyes already swimming with tears.

Ye Lingling's eyes were bloodshot as she clutched her heart tightly. Seeing the reactions of the other two, she forced a look of grim determination. "Rongrong, Zhuqing! Go contact Grandpa Sword and Grandpa Bone immediately! I'm going to find Uncle Wolf!"

"Right! Lingling is right!" Ning Rongrong grabbed onto the idea like a lifeline, pulling Zhuqing along as they sprinted out of the palace.

Left alone, Ye Lingling murmured with resolve, "Ye Lan, I won't let anything happen to you!"

Elsewhere, Dugu Yan was frantic. "Grandpa! Faster! You have to help me find my idol!"

"What's the rush!? How could a kid like Ye Lan be in trouble?" Dugu Bo grumbled, though his face betrayed his own disbelief. His granddaughter had suddenly claimed her heart was aching, insisting that Ye Lan was in danger. In Dugu Bo's mind, the man who had single-handedly suppressed the Clear Sky Sect was practically invincible.

In the Douluo Hall, Qian Renxue's heart skipped a beat. She looked toward the west, her eyes wide with horror.

"Impossible...!"

"Ye Lan!! You promised you'd take me to see the snow! Come back here right now!"

"Sister! Please help me bring my husband back!" Xue Ke wailed, clutching Qian Renxue's arm in a fit of tears.

Qian Renxue wiped the tears from her own face, gave a heavy nod, and blurred into a streak of light toward the main hall.

"Grandfather! Grandfather!" she shouted as she burst into the Douluo Main Hall, only to find the seat beneath the Angel Statue empty.

A clergyman cleaning nearby saw her distress and hurriedly reported, "Young Lady, the High Priest departed fifteen minutes ago!"

"Fifteen minutes ago?" A dark realization dawned on her. That was likely when Ye Lan had sent a distress signal to her grandfather. Could he really be...?

She quickly shook the terrifying thought away and charged out of the hall. The hundred-meter-tall Angelic True Body manifested, wings beating furiously as she flew toward the western Douluo Continent. Sensing a lingering, evil Rakshasa aura in the air, she frowned.

That woman!

She had to find Ye Lan before that woman did!

In that moment, a massive movement of Spirit Hall personnel—from common guards to Titled Douluos—began to converge on the western horizon.

Several days later, Qian Renxue, gasping for breath, finally arrived at the place where her heart felt the strongest connection.

"Ye Lan!!! Where are you!!!"

She screamed into the void, but only silence answered her. Looking down at the endless, dense forest, the sheer scale of the continent felt crushing. How was she supposed to find one person in all of this?

Suddenly, her spiritual sense twitched. She detected a familiar, divine aura in the air. Without hesitation, she followed the trail. Eventually, she found the source.

"Grandfather!! Did you find him!?" she asked, her voice ragged.

Qian Daoliu looked at the pale, exhausted girl. With a flash of golden light from his palm, he tapped her shoulder, steadying her condition instantly. He looked at her with a complicated expression, seemingly lost for words.

"Grandfather? Why did you know something happened before I did?"

"Sigh... Before Ye Lan left for the Star Luo Imperial City, I carved an Angelic Mark onto his palm. If he encountered mortal danger, he only had to activate it for me to know instantly," Qian Daoliu explained.

"Then where is he!?"

"I'll take you there. I've searched this area several times... there is no sign of him." Qian Daoliu took flight toward the southwest.

They arrived at a stretch of forest marked by three gargantuan gashes in the earth. The central trench was the deepest—dozens of meters down, exposing the raw bedrock. The other two were equally terrifying, a testament to a battle of world-ending proportions.

Qian Renxue's heart sank. Golden tears began to flow uncontrollably.

"The Angelic Mark vanished right here. I've searched the surroundings for days but haven't found a trace. Even if..." Qian Daoliu trailed off.

Qian Renxue understood. Even if he had been killed, there should have been a body.

"Who did this? Grandfather, do you know who in the Douluo Continent has this kind of destructive power?" Hatred flickered in her eyes.

After a long silence, Qian Daoliu answered, "It was likely the Sea God Douluo, Bo Saixi. The High Priestess of the Sea God Island. She is a Rank 99 Limit Douluo."

"Bo Saixi... Bo Saixi... Grandfather, teach me how to track the Angelic Mark! I have to find him! He can't just be gone like this! Not even a body..." She wiped her eyes, her gaze hardening with resolve.

Seeing his granddaughter mature in an instant, Qian Daoliu sighed. "Xue'er, do not let hatred consume you. If he truly cannot be found, you must stay strong. Remember the Angel God I mentioned? If you can attain godhood, there may still be hope to resurrect him."

"Grandfather, I understand!" She nodded heavily.

After learning the technique to sense the mark's resonance, she began a tireless search of the region.

A week passed.

Thousands of Spirit Hall warriors and papal guards scoured the forests near Vast Sea City and the Fasuo Province, but found nothing. News of the Spirit Hall Son's "fall" began to spread across the continent. Countless Spirit Masters and commoners were devastated; they couldn't believe that the man who had contributed so much to their world was gone.

On the mysterious Sea God Island:

"Grandmother! How is it? Xiao Bai said you found his trail!" Tang San rushed forward as Bo Saixi returned.

A flicker of pity crossed Bo Saixi's eyes. "Little San, Ye Lan is dead."

"Truly dead!?" Tang San's eyes lit up.

"Yes. His body was severed in two, and his Dantian was completely shattered. Even with the incredible vitality of his martial soul, he had no spirit power to sustain it. He is dead. I watched him fall before I returned," she explained.

Tang San practically lunged into her arms, weeping with joy. "Grandmother!! Thank you!! That cursed Ye Lan is finally dead!! Hahaha!"

"Excellent!! My disciple no longer has an equal!" Yu Xiaogang's effeminate voice rang out in laughter.

Meanwhile, in a remote countryside, a white-haired man with one arm and one leg heard the news. At first, Tang Hao thought the commoners were mocking a cripple, but after seeing hundreds of people spontaneously mourning, he finally believed it.

"Haha!! Dead! Good! He's dead!!" Tang Hao laughed manically.

THWACK!!

Tang Hao's world went black. A simple, honest-looking middle-aged farmer had knocked him senseless with a hoe. The farmer spat on the ground and kicked Tang Hao's lower half for good measure. "You damn beast! The Hall Master spared your life, and here you are cursing him!"

Two weeks later, the search parties began to dwindle. Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, and the others had fainted from grief multiple times.

Bibi Dong looked toward the western sea with a cold, murderous glare before turning back toward the east. War reports had arrived; the Beast Empire, led by Di Tian, had invaded the Heaven Dou Empire's eastern kingdoms. Spirit Hall's elders were already at the front. She had to return to Spirit City to oversee the defense, though the rage within her threatened to consume her sanity.

A month after Ye Lan's "death," a haggard, blonde figure continued to drift aimlessly over the forest. Suddenly, the Angelic Mark on her palm began to burn.

Qian Renxue's eyes snapped open. She accelerated toward the source of the heat. As the mark grew scaldingly hot, her pale face regained a hint of color.

She reached a secluded cliff bathed in a soft blue radiance. A carpet of Blue Silver Grass, interspersed with countless wildflowers, covered the ground. Descending, she saw a figure lying amidst the floral sea.

It was a lean youth with blue-gold hair. He was stark naked, his skin deathly pale and his lips devoid of color. Qian Renxue's heart thundered. "Impossible...!"

Though the hair color was different and he looked younger—reminiscent of the boy she had first met in Heaven Dou City—she knew it was him. She threw herself into his arms and began to sob.

"Ye Lan!!! Wake up, please! I won't ignore you anymore! You promised to see the snow with me... don't break your word! I love you! I won't interfere with your other relationships anymore! Just wake up... I'll do anything!"

Suddenly, a slender, pale hand reached up to wipe away her tears.

Ye Lan looked up at her with a familiar, mischievous smirk. "Xue'er, did you really mean all that?"

To his surprise, she didn't laugh or get angry. She simply collapsed into a fresh wave of sobbing, clutching his thin body as if he might vanish. Ye Lan felt a pang of guilt. He held her close and whispered, "I'm back, Xue'er. I'm not leaving you again."

"Are you trying to be a crybaby like Rongrong? You'll look ugly if you keep crying."

After a long time, she calmed down and pouted. "Where have you been? I've looked for a month! And why do you look so different? Your hair... and you look younger!"

Ye Lan sighed. "Bo Saixi did kill me with that trident. But my Natural Domain allows me to slowly regrow through any plant life. I didn't expect it to take so long. I chose to regenerate inside a wind-blown seed just in case."

"I almost... almost lost you forever!" She hugged him tighter.

"I'm perfectly fine now," he chuckled.

"What about your strength?"

"I'm very weak," Ye Lan admitted after checking his internal state. "My spirit power is roughly at the Grandmaster level. It'll take about six months to fully recover, and I'll need the help of the Blue Silver Forest."

"A Grandmaster? Really?" She looked at him blankly.

"Really. Why would I lie?"

Before he could react, Qian Renxue flipped him over and sat on his abdomen, pinning his shoulders. Her face was flushed, her eyes filled with an obsessive love and a hint of a "yandere" smile.

"Xue'er...?"

"Ye Lan!! Tell me, where am I inferior to those other women? Why did you have to go behind my back!? Who else have you been with!?"

Images of Lingling, Zhuqing, and the others flashed through his mind. "No one!! No one else!!"

"Hmph! You think I'll believe a big liar like you!?" She leaned down and bit his neck hard. The taste of hot, sweet blood filled her mouth, making her eyes glaze over with bliss.

"You're a vampire... you're going to drain me dry," Ye Lan grumbled, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Hmph. You're just a little Grandmaster now. I can do whatever I want with you!" She licked the wound on his neck and began to stroke his lean chest.

"Xue'er, don't play around. I'm really weak right now."

"I don't care! You were reborn, right? That means this body is new! I'm taking your 'first time' right now!" she declared imperiously.

Ye Lan fell silent. If this helped her heal from the trauma of the past month, so be it. He smirked. "Do you even know how?"

Ouch! He winced as she bit him again. She smiled triumphantly and began to shed her clothes, one piece at a time.

"Ye Lan, am I beautiful?" she whispered with a teasing smile.

The sight sent a surge of heat through his body. He tried to move, but pinned beneath a Titled Douluo-level Qian Renxue, he was helpless. He hurriedly deployed a concealment barrier to ensure their privacy.

"Hmph! You lecher! Did you develop this skill specifically for your affairs!?"

"Of course not!" he said guiltily.

"As punishment... I'm going to have you a hundred times!"

"No!! I'll die!!!"

"Then you'll die in my arms!" She pressed down and kissed him deeply.

A week later, Ye Lan looked gaunt, his cheeks sunken as he let out a sigh of relief, watching the fair-skinned figure sleeping soundly on his chest. He felt like a Daoist sage—completely devoid of worldly desires.

Thankfully, her grievances had finally been vented. But more importantly, during this week, he had finally discovered the secret of their Spirit Fusion.

It turned out that for their fusion to be used, they had to maintain a certain level of physical intimacy to "reset" the connection.

Twelve-Winged Angel of Origin.

Origin... the origin of life? Ye Lan mused.

"Xue'er, want to try it?" he asked the drowsy girl.

"Mm..." she murmured, her strength spent.

Ye Lan focused on the resonance between them. Ultimate Life, Ultimate Light, Ultimate Divinity, and Ultimate Fire began to intertwine. In an instant, the world's light converged into a white sphere. For a few seconds, total darkness fell, followed by a blinding white flash that painted the entire world.

When the light faded, a three-hundred-meter-tall, glowing golden angel floated in the sky. Planet-like rings of light orbited its massive form. Its twelve wings were like crystalline rivers of stars, layered and majestic, etched with ancient, mysterious runes.

Its face was the pinnacle of aesthetic perfection, its eyes shining with a mix of mercy and starlight that could see through the essence of all things. Its hair, a waterfall of silver and gold, flowed over its shoulders like the Milky Way.

Inside the consciousness of the Angel of Origin, Ye Lan and Qian Renxue were stunned by the data flooding their minds.

"So strong!! Ye Lan, let's go! I want to cleave Bo Saixi in half!" Qian Renxue shouted excitedly in their shared consciousness.

"We can't touch her yet. She has the Sea God's mark. If we kill her, we'll draw the Sea God's gaze to the continent," Ye Lan cautioned. "Besides, she won't be easy to kill. We'd likely only manage a draw due to the massive difference in spirit power quality. Plus, this form only lasts a hundred seconds."

"Oh..." Qian Renxue sounded disappointed. Suddenly, her eyes widened. "Wait! I see her!"

"That's the Eye of the Sun," Ye Lan explained. "The clouds just moved; the Sea God Temple is currently in direct sunlight."

"If we can't kill her, we can at least give her a lesson she'll never forget!" Qian Renxue declared.
