Chapter 226: Could it really be the Law of Destruction?
"It's time to send you on your way."
Li Xun turned around, his icy gaze sweeping across the void. The three remaining Divine Palace Realm cultivators couldn't help but shiver.
He stood there like a Heavenly Emperor descending to the mortal world, one hand holding the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain as though it were a great imperial seal, and he slammed it down with force.
This divine mountain had never acknowledged him as its master.
Because, not long from now, he intended to dismantle it into materials. Since he had already made that decision, if he let it recognize him now, it would only damage his soul when he destroyed it later. But even without recognizing a master, in Li Xun's hand, the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain still unleashed terrifying might.
The mountain was no larger than a fist, yet it vibrated with a dreadful power that chilled every bone and threatened to shatter the body.
"Not good!"
Xuan Yi's face changed drastically. Staring at the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain shooting toward him, he didn't even think of resisting. He turned into a streak of divine light, fleeing into the distance.
But—he was still a step too slow.
Above the sky—
That hand, like a Heavenly Emperor pressing down his seal, suddenly crashed down.
Pfft! Half of Xuan Yi's body exploded into a mist of blood. Only his upper torso managed to barely escape.
Fresh blood stained the blue sky, dazzling and horrifying.
Everyone who witnessed this was stunned. Li Xun had already used the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain to kill two people before—that was terrifying enough.
Now, with a single strike, he had gravely wounded the Great Chu Dynasty's Xuan Yi.
The outcome of this battle was already all too clear.
Five against one, and they still lost. With only two left, how could they possibly stand against Li Xun?
If they continued to fight, it would only mean two more corpses.
"Stop!"
"Die!"
The only ones remaining, Xuan Er and Wei Qiong, charged forward desperately. They knew Xuan Yi was no longer Li Xun's match. Once he was dealt with, the next to face death would be them.
Their speed was fast.
But Li Xun's speed was faster!
With a flick of his hand, the Azure Dragon Halberd appeared. His right hand swept it through the air, black divine light surging forth like a mighty river, forming a storm of stars that tore across the sky.
Boom!
The blow sent Wei Qiong and Xuan Er flying back, their charge broken.
Buzz!
Another deep hum rang out as Li Xun raised the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain with his left hand and suppressed Xuan Yi once more. At the final moment, Xuan Yi could only raise his hand in a feeble attempt to block.
At his peak, he had not been able to resist the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain.
Now, gravely wounded, he had no chance at all.
Though no bigger than a fist, the mountain's aura was like a primordial sacred peak, boundless and unshakable. It pinned Xuan Yi beneath it.
Blood mist erupted. The Great Chu Dynasty's Divine Palace expert was crushed to death, his body obliterated, leaving no complete corpse behind.
Only his fragile soul managed to emerge.
But the instant it appeared, Li Xun's foot came down.
It was like stomping on a balloon.
With a sickening pop, Xuan Yi's soul was utterly annihilated, leaving nothing behind.
"This…"
Countless people were dumbfounded.
It had all happened far too quickly. First, the two elders of the Star-Moon Divine Sect were slain. Then, the Profound Magnetite Divine Mountain was seized by Li Xun. And now, Xuan Yi himself had been destroyed with ease.
Before most had even reacted, the battle had already entered its end.
"So this is Li Xun's true strength? Now I finally understand why he chose to take the field himself. He wanted to fully display his might—to plunge others into despair!"
An elderly man with graying hair trembled, his pupils quivering. He looked up at Li Xun in the sky, then over at the distant Heavenly Heart Sacred Holy Son, the Prince of the Golden Crow Clan, and the others.
He sighed in awe:
"To exist in the same era as Li Xun… for them, it is both a blessing and a misfortune."
A blessing—because they could witness the rise of a peerless genius, a heaven-defying figure who crushed all peers without ever tasting defeat.
And a misfortune—because such a being was destined to eclipse them all.
And the misfortune was—that they were among those being crushed beneath him.
Of course, ninety-nine percent of the people present no longer even had the qualifications to be Li Xun's opponents. Even the so-called Holy Sons of the Holy Lands were no exception.
"You two should be on your way as well."
Li Xun turned his gaze toward Wei Qiong and Xuan Er.
The instant the two met his eyes, they couldn't help but shudder. They instinctively began retreating. Once they had opened some distance, they immediately split and fled wildly in two different directions.
"Trying to run?"
Li Xun locked his gaze onto Wei Qiong. Among the two, his strength was the greater, and his speed the fastest—dealing with him first was the best option.
Li Xun transformed into a streak of golden divine light. With the Heavenly Dragon Cloud Soaring Technique, his speed was pushed to the extreme, so fast that none could react. In the blink of an eye, he was upon Wei Qiong's back.
Boom!
The Azure Dragon Halberd descended, transforming into a black dragon. Vast as mountain ranges, incomparably heavy, it carried the aura of collapsing the heavens themselves, making all who saw it tremble in fear.
"Li Xun!"
Wei Qiong turned, gritting his teeth as he roared.
He raised the golden wooden staff in his hand and swung it backward. Staff and halberd clashed, producing a sound like splitting metal and shattering clouds. The terrifying backlash hurled Wei Qiong dozens of miles away in an instant.
"You really intend to kill us?"
Wei Qiong said in a low, heavy voice.
"Your time has come."
Li Xun's reply was terse and final.
The Azure Dragon Halberd in his hand devoured the essence of heaven and earth. For a moment, murderous aura filled the void. Black clouds surged, drowning the skies, an incomparably dreadful scene.
Boom!
With a thunderous crash, the Azure Dragon Halberd fell once more.
This strike carried all of Li Xun's strength, infused with his comprehension of the Great Dao. The moment it appeared, heaven and earth rumbled. Everywhere was permeated with the breath of annihilation.
Pfft!
A spray of blood arced through the air. Wei Qiong cried out as the golden staff in his hand shattered inch by inch. His body was obliterated into nothingness, his soul not even given a chance to escape.
"That aura again!"
Countless hearts shook with disbelief.
Wei Qiong of the Star-Moon Divine Sect was by no means a weakling. His ability to block Li Xun's first strike proved that slaying him wouldn't have been easy.
But the reason he failed to block the second strike was because Li Xun had used something beyond ordinary comprehension—
A power that resembled what legends described as the force of the Laws themselves.
The problem was—the Laws were said to be something only Great Emperors could grasp.
Many had heard of them, but almost no one had ever seen them. Naturally, none were willing to believe that Li Xun, still only at the Divine Palace realm, could already wield the Laws.
"Could it really be…the Law of Destruction?"
Someone whispered, stunned.
"Now, it's your turn!"
Li Xun's icy voice carried across the sky as his gaze locked on Xuan Er, who had already fled hundreds of miles away. The words sounded like a death curse rising from the underworld itself, sending chills through everyone present.
Especially Xuan Er.
The moment he saw Wei Qiong instantly slain, panic seized him. His speed, already pushed to the utmost, surged even further.
In the blink of an eye, he was nearly a thousand miles away.
But Li Xun's divine power erupted. His blood essence boiled, and he hurled the Azure Dragon Halberd with all his might.
Buzz!
The weapon transformed into a black dragon that spanned dozens of miles, cutting across the firmament. Along its path, it shed countless rays of divine light, and with unstoppable momentum, it overtook Xuan Er.
The halberd pierced straight through his chest.
And its force did not stop there.
Carrying Xuan Er's corpse, the halberd flew hundreds of miles farther before pinning him against a distant mountain.
The power of destruction erupted. Xuan Er had no chance to let his soul escape.
He vanished completely—body and spirit both obliterated.
