Chapter 275 - Chapter 274: Nothing but a Trivial Matter

Chapter 274: Nothing but a Trivial Matter

Just as Lu Qingxian was still filled with confusion, that nearly perfect woman who had descended from the heavens slowly stepped down through the air. When she arrived before Li Xun, she gracefully knelt and bowed, her voice soft and melodious as she spoke:

"Huang Xi greets her master."

As she spoke, the divine radiance around her face faded away—revealing a countenance of near-perfect beauty. Her skin was fair as snow, and at the center of her brows burned a faint flame-shaped mark. Her eyes were bright, deep, and alive, every blink shimmering with divine light.

She was like an ethereal maiden descended from beyond the nine heavens—a celestial goddess gracing the mortal world.

"M… master?"

Lu Qingxian froze where she stood. Her eyes shifted from the woman named Huang Xi to Li Xun beside her, disbelief and confusion swirling in their depths.

Back in her homeland, Saints were nearly extinct—even a Divine Palace Realm cultivator was already considered a supreme powerhouse.

If a Saint appeared, it would shake the heavens and earth.

Only after coming to this Desolate Ancient Continent did she realize that Saints were not as rare as legends claimed—at least, every Holy Land here had one or two Saints guarding it.

Even so, a Saint was not someone a common cultivator could simply meet.

And now, a being who might be a Saint, or perhaps even stronger than a Saint, was actually calling Li Xun "master."

Lu Qingxian's worldview was on the verge of collapse.

'Early stage of the Saint King Realm…'

Li Xun's gaze swept over Huang Xi. The moment she appeared beside him, he had instinctively understood her level of power.

He could not only sense her cultivation realm, he could even faintly perceive her thoughts.

That kind of ability, he was certain, came as a benefit from his system.

'Early Saint King Realm… For a member of the Divine Phoenix Clan, that's just reaching adulthood. But among humans, that's already an existence above all.'

Li Xun's expression softened into a faint smile.

"Rise. You've worked hard on your journey."

"As long as I can return to my master's side, no distance is too far. For Huang Xi, there is no hardship."

Her crystalline eyes shimmered as she secretly stole a glance at Li Xun, then quickly looked away.

For some reason, a faint sense of awe and reverence welled up in her heart.

"You came from which star region?"

Li Xun asked curiously.

He knew the world was vast beyond imagination. Even the Desolate Ancient Continent was merely one fragment of land adrift in the endless sea of stars. Beyond it, countless other continents and ancient worlds floated through the void—each teeming with life.

Some ancient stars had already declined, where even a Divine Palace Realm expert was a rarity.

Yet on some greater continents, the cultivation world still thrived in prosperity.

Among them, the Desolate Ancient Continent was one of the most outstanding—home not only to Saints, but even to Quasi-Emperors, and several forbidden zones so ancient and mysterious that legends claimed former Emperors might still slumber within them.

Such stories, however, were only rumors—never once proven true.

"Replying to Master," Huang Xi said softly,

"I crossed realms from the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain."

"The Heavenly Island Ancient Domain!?"

Before Li Xun could respond, Lu Qingxian exclaimed in shock—her delicate face filled with astonishment.

The Heavenly Island Ancient Domain.

Lu Qingxian was far too familiar with that place.

It was her homeland.

In her memory, the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain had long since fallen into decline.

Cultivators of the Divine Palace Realm were already rare, and Saints had all but vanished.

Only a few remnants of ancient Holy Lands still existed, while true Saints had not appeared for countless years.

Yet now, here in the Desolate Ancient Continent, she actually met a woman from her very own homeland.

"You're also from the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain?"

Li Xun glanced at Lu Qingxian with surprise, his voice calm but curious.

"Yes."

Lu Qingxian nodded lightly, not attempting to hide it.

"In the ancient ages, the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain once flourished greatly," Li Xun mused aloud after a moment's thought.

"But in recent times… it has indeed fallen far from its former glory."

Having spent so many years in this world, Li Xun had learned much from ancient texts.

He knew the general structure of the heavens and the great realms—and Heavenly Island Ancient Domain was among them.

That domain had once been prosperous beyond measure, birthing multiple Emperors in the distant past.

But now, its name was scarcely mentioned.

In the end, it was simply because it lacked enough powerhouses.

If the decline continued, the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain might eventually become nothing more than an ordinary land—its cultivation civilization fading entirely into history.

"To be frank, Master," Huang Xi said openly, "in recent times, quite a few beings of the Primordial Royal Race have begun to awaken within the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain. Perhaps it won't be long before that place ushers in a new golden age."

"Beings of the Primordial Royal Race?"

Li Xun was slightly taken aback.

In the primordial era, the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain had not belonged to the human race.

Most of the beings living there were Primordial Royal Race, while humans had occupied the lowest rung of the food chain.

Now that those ancient races were awakening again, it likely meant that the humans of the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain were once more on the verge of disaster—about to return to an age of blood and oppression.

"The Primordial Era was so unimaginably distant… For those ancient creatures to find a way to survive through such endless ages and reawaken now—that takes remarkable means indeed,"

Li Xun murmured in mild astonishment.

"Come to think of it," he added, "you must also belong to one of the Primordial Royal Race, don't you?"

"Master's insight is unparalleled."

Huang Xi bowed slightly, her tone respectful.

"If not for your summons, Huang Xi would likely still be slumbering even now."

'Just as I thought.'

Li Xun nodded to himself.

He had already suspected that the system hadn't created Huang Xi out of nothing.

After all, if it could freely create life, it could have manifested her directly before him—there would've been no need to have her appear from within the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain.

"Senior," Lu Qingxian hesitated for a moment, then bit her lip and asked softly,

"Do you know why those Primordial Royal beings are choosing to awaken now, all at once?"

No matter what, the Heavenly Island Ancient Domain was still her home.

She didn't want to see her homeland's human race return to the despair of the primordial era.

Huang Xi's beautiful eyes glimmered as she replied slowly:

"Because, in the Primordial Age, there was a prophecy from an ancient sage—that in this very era, an unprecedented opportunity would appear."

"A chance that would shake the entire world."

"If one could seize it… then achieving eternal life and unending sight would be nothing more than a trivial matter."

A faint look of yearning crossed her face as she spoke.

Those four words—eternal life and unending sight—sounded simple, but in truth, throughout the span of an entire epoch, amidst countless trillions of beings, only one or two could ever truly reach that realm.

Yet according to the ancient prophecy, in this coming age, even something as impossible as immortality—would be nothing but a small affair.

Such words could not help but stir the heart.
