Chapter 18 - The Last Breath from Another World

The Last Breath from Another World

The sky was still stained with ashes when he woke up.

Aiyden Karun opened his eyes in a world he did not recognize.

The sky — different.

The clouds — too light, almost unreal.

The air — too clean, almost pure.

There were screams in the distance, the chaos of a collapsing world… but none of it shocked him.

He had already seen the end.

Not the end of a city.

Not even the end of a race.

The end of an entire world.

🌌

His body lay among the metallic wreckage of a shattered building, shoulders bare, hands still dusted with the crystalline powder of Erythra — the extinct world. His world.

He tried to move and, to his surprise, he was whole. No wounds. No pain.

"Another chance…"

The phrase slipped from his lips like a whisper.

His heart beat slowly, as if something were missing.

There was no Kaela.

No Ether Legion.

No red lights in the sky.

Only… life.

But it didn't last long.

An ancient pain pulsed in his chest, and images began to flood his mind:

Kaela smiling in silver armor.

The collapse of the magical lines.

The scream of gods as they fell one by one.

"They were destroyed… and I was supposed to go with them."

But something had brought him here.

Something — or someone — had stopped his soul from vanishing.

And at that moment, a white light appeared before his eyes.

A sphere.

Not a god.

Not a system.

Just the memory of a vow.

"Promise me… that you'll stop the next end. Whatever it takes."

Kaela's voice.

Before she died.

Her hand, pushing him into the chaotic portal.

Aiyden stood.

His bare back now bore a golden symbol forming on his skin — a complex rune of life that had survived death itself.

🩸 You have absorbed the Divine Veil Bloodline: Starlight Blood.

Class: Reincarnated – Survivor of Worlds.

SSS Talent Acquired: "Return of the Last Breath."

This new world offered him no blessings.

No explanations.

It only returned him to life — with a cost.

And Aiyden knew:

Another end was coming.

The towers.

The beasts.

The chosen.

They were all symptoms.

"What if… Kaela still exists in this world?"

In the distance, he saw the Tower of Chaos — a black thorn slicing the skies.

It was calling him.

Aiyden brushed the dust from his shoulders, stood tall, and followed the flow of survivors.

He didn't seek power.

He didn't seek revenge.

He sought answers.

And maybe… a way to stop another collapse.

And so began the journey of Aiyden,

the Reincarnated —

or perhaps...

the true protagonist.
