I
barely ate today at night and I am sitting on the bed- still in shock.
'Everyone sleep now, flight will be at
4AM.' Padma said. I am not ready to go far, leaving all of this. I took the
avocado plushie beside me and put it in the box with my books. And then I
folded my clothes… I hate this packing. I sat on my bed again. How am I
supposed to pack these when this scar is burning? I also feel like I am
carrying the weight of my feelings along with these boxes.
I came to the living hall. It was quiet,
all the lights turned off and everyone's snoring. Am I the only one who's still
packing bags? I don't understand how all of them could sleep while knowing that
someone is coming to kill us. I went back to my room and fell on the bed just
like a lizard sticking to the wall.
The ceiling looks really old, dusty and
full of webs, always feared whether all of that will fall on my face. But this
is the last night I'll stay in this house and room. The smell of this room- and
everything, I'll miss it. I looked at the bags; the avocado plushie is sticking
out. I turned front and just relaxed on the bed.
Something was in front of me. And it
looks just like me. Did my soul come out of my body? And that soul is looking
at me deadly. Why does my soul have straight hair? It looks just like Sravanti-
SRAVANTIIIII- I woke up. She grinned
broadly.
'H- h- how did COME HERE? Now? How, how,
HOW?' I shouted as Sravanti shushed me.
'I teleported using my scar.' She said,
sat beside me and put a hand on my shoulder- just like Bindu before.
'I came here to,' Sravanti stopped. She
went out to see. A sound maybe. I followed her. Vishal is hitting his hand near
the water bottles. His scar is glowing. Maybe it was burning…
'Vishal? Do you have a scar too?'
Sravanti asked him. He looked at Sravanti and spit the water in his mouth. I
came out, slapping my forehead. Vishal fell down after looking at both of us.
'Srav- Sravanti! How- When did you
come?' Vishal uttered, trying to stand up from ground. Sravanti gave him her
hand to help. He held her hand, but stepped on the water he spit and fell down
again, pulling Sravanti down too. I stopped my laugh so hard.
Sravanti stood up, cussing under her
breath while Vishal was trying his best to get up by himself.
After some time, we all came to my room
and had a moment of awkward silence- even the air is awkward. Vishal, who was
deeply embarrassed, is avoiding eye contact. Sravanti was deeply thinking. I am
analyzing their souls.
'How did you teleport Sravanti?' I asked
her. Sravanti smirked and opened her mouth to speak but-
'Oh, that's how you came here!' Vishal
said excitedly. I shushed him.
'Vishal- your scar?' Sravanti asked him
and he stood up.
'Um, this one… I,' he stopped and
realized that we saw his scar. He hid it.
'Vishal, we know that you have a scar,
you don't have to hide.' I said. Sravanti nodded.
'How?' He asked us again.
'Because the concealer you've used to
hide it isn't your shade.' Sravanti said. My reason's different, but I agree.
'But others who don't have a scar
couldn't find the difference!' He said. Really?
'Yeah, cuz we see different colors than
them!' Sravanti said. I saw her in shock. Will this explain why I couldn't draw
what I see? Vishal cooled.
'I know who we are and a lot about us.'
Sravanti said. 'I teleported here to tell Avanti about it, but turns out;' She
looked at Vishal with glazed donut eyes and, 'You're like us too.' Sravanti
said. Her scar started glowing with Vishal's. Both scars pulsed with same
energy.
'What about me? I don't see my scar
glowing!' I said. Too late. They were looking at each other.
Vishal was looking at her with a mixture
of belonging emotions. He looked at his hands. Sravanti took my hand and
started examining.
'First, say what you want to say- like,
about us or this scar. It's okay even if the scar doesn't glow…' I said.
Sravanti looked at me, and then at Vishal who has a deadpan poker face with a
sprinkle of bittersweet. Vishal looked at Sravanti and Sravanti turned her head
away awkwardly.
'I wanna know who I am.' Vishal said,
stepping forward. Sravanti smiled. I smiled too. But wait- they're looking at
each other and it doesn't matter even if I smile right?
'Ahem…' I cleared my throat loudly.
Nope. They didn't move.
'Oh… Such a great sibling bond!' I
joked. Sravanti glared at me. Vishal turned away and started searching for
something non-existent. 'By the way, tell us who we are!' I said.
Sravanti was still angry that I called
them siblings. Why? This is funny. Sravanti looked away, making kinda eye
contact with Vishal and glare contact with me. She started.
'Do you guys know what electromagnetic
radiation is?'
'Nope.' Both I and Vishal said. Sravanti
dropped her jaw.
'You guys are studying 10th
grade!?'
I and Vishal nodded in this. Sravanti
slapped her forehead and sighed in disappointment.
'So, do you know VIBGYOR?'
'Yeah, rainbow.'
'Rainbow right?'
'Wow! You're still children
successfully!' She clapped, mocking us.
'First
explain who we are!' Vishal said.
'Do
you know sunlight? When it passes through the prism, you see,'
'Rainbow!' I and Vishal replied with
enthusiasm. She slapped her head.
'Yeah, yeah… But we see splitting of
white light into a spectrum of colors. And that spectrum is Electromagnetic
radiation.'
'So, it's just light.' Vishal concluded.
Sravanti nodded.
'Then why not just call it light and not
complicate the name?' I asked her. She squinted, glaring at me like, GURL I'M
YOUR SIS!?
'In that spectrum, they only see some
visible part of it. That is VIBGYOR. But we see beyond VIBGYOR.' Sravanti
explained.
'Oh… So, that is the reason why I feel
like there are deeper purples and reds beyond the rainbow!' Vishal exclaimed. I
nodded so hard, my neck ached.
'That's right, genius!' She said. And
she is clearly flirting with him right now cuz Vishal blushed. Just a little.
Shit, I shouldn't involve in their romance. That would just remind me of how
lonely I am.
'Okay, and humans have red, blue and
green rods or cones in their retine which help them see color formed in the
palette formed by these colors.'
'No- Red, blue and yellow are the
primary colors right?' Vishal questioned Sravanti. That was a bad question I
guess?
'Good question!' Sravanti clapped and I
coughed so hard. Flirting caught in 4K- and it's getting cringe. Sravanti
glared again for intentionally coughing.
'Sorry, continue' I said to stop the
awkwardness.
'Red, blue and green colors are primary
because lights when put together, colors add. In case of drawing and art,
colors painted together get subtracted from white. That's why in art, the
primary colors are red, blue and yellow.' She said.
'That means, on paper the colors are
negative right?' I said.
Giving me a side eye, she said, 'Bad
statement.'
Huh? Excuse me?
'Our retinas have more than 3 cones or
whatever, and we could see more colors that are out of VIBGYOR. For us, red,
blue, green and yellow are not primary. We've got more primary colors.' She
explained.
'How many primary colors can we see?'
Vishal asked her.
'That is actually an important
question!' She said. Yeah… Very important question! I rolled my eyes. Looks
like the teacher has a favorite. 'But I don't have an answer.' She said.
I stopped her and asked, 'So that's why,
even if I try to draw something I couldn't do it the way I see right?'
"Obviously!' she said, rolling her eyes.
Is she becoming my enemy or what? 'That is not even a question!' She continued.
'And most importantly, we're 4D beings.' She said.
'I mean yeah, cuz this universe is 4D
SPACE-TIME.' Vishal said.
'I am actually thinking about how the
fundamental particles of matter are like- how would standard model be like…' I
stated my thought.
Sravanti widened her eyes, dropped her
jaw and stared at us. 'You guys!' she glared at us. 'You don't know what
electromagnetic radiation is and you've got the brain to understand and talk
about standard model? You guys know what a photon is, but are unaware of
electromagnetic radiation? I am not an idiot!' She said.
'I like to see these facts on youtube shorts
or insta reels like how matter is actually frozen energy- E=mc*c!' Vishal said.
I guess he is trying to flex his degree from whatsapp academy, and surely he is
cringe flirting too cuz Sravanti likes physics. I held my laughter cuz Sravanti
will be internally dead after listening to physics from Vishal's insta academy.
Sravanti became frozen energy when
Vishal said that. I love this so much.
'And then,' Vishal continued.
'Stop! Please. Let's come to the most
important point.' Sravanti said, clearing her throat. Vishal looked at her,
raising an eyebrow. Perhaps he's confused why Sravanti wasn't welcoming his
thoughts and questions.
'What is that most important point, ha?'
I asked.
Sravanti turned her head to look at me…
and then grinned. Something about her sharp look didn't feel right. Her face
looks a bit different- her smile, teeth, cheeks. Then she looked at Vishal. He
raised both of his eye brows.
'I have said this already,' she said,
'We are four dimensional human beings. I mean, four SPATIALLY dimensional
beings. I know that this place, earth is 4 dimensional too- 3 spatial
dimensions and a temporal dimension. But in that logic, we are 5 dimensional. 4
spatial dimensions and a temporal dimension, which means that we don't belong
to this world. Maybe we are ALIENS.' Sravanti said.
Vishal fell on to the chair that was
luckily behind him. My jaw dropped to the floor (just kidding).
'But I can't visualize a tesseract- I
can only understand its 3D or 2D projection.' I said. Vishal didn't know what I
said, but he nodded anyways.
'Can you imagine rotation through a line
of axis?' Sravanti asked us. I closed my eyes. Yes, I can. 'Now imagine
rotation through a plane. Can you do that?'
I closed my eyes harder and
concentrated. My eyes are paining and head is aching. It is like needles
tapping on my forehead.
'Argh- my head is paining!' Vishal
groaned. I am still catching my head and trying to process what is going on.
Wait- there's a picture. But it is
blurred. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes. It's- it's an object that has
shadow- a 3D shadow which looked like the tesseract (4D cube) drawing. And that
object was rotating through a plane? Like- this is something I have never been
able to imagine. Something I can never even dream to imagine of. Reality is
cursed. This doesn't feel like reality anymore.
Tears are running down my cheek as I
opened my eyes. Liberating. My hands, my body- everything is free. How, why do
I feel like that? Vishal was on the floor, rolling, catching his head and
groaning in pain. Maybe we should help him? We should.
'How do you feel?' Sravanti asked me. I
looked around. The entire room is a literal slice of something bigger. I feel
lighter.
'I feel lighter as if gravity
decreased.' I replied. Vishal stopped rolling and groaning.
She smiled. 'You're right. Gravity
decreased indeed. I don't know by how much, but the gravity's got inverse cube
law.' Vishal stood up and opened his eyes.
'Now, the entire room looks like a
slice! What's outside of it?' I said.
Vishal, who was desperately turning his
head around to look at the change nodded strongly- if he nods too much like
that, his head might fall down.
'That space outside is what I call the
"unknown space". Apparently, we are standing upon a hyperspherical extension of
3 dimensional Earth and somehow, this has mass too. Since earth is 3D, it will
be a slice of 4D space; just like how a paper is a slice of a dense book.'
Sravanti explained.
'But guys,' Both looked at me as I said.
'Now, people will come to kill us because, they want my brain.' I explained the
entire psychologist mess.
'Did you forgive Bindu?' Vishal asked
me.
'Nope. I would've forgiven her if she
really was concerned about my health. But she believes that I am fundamentally
very abnormal as a human and thinks that her value is more than mine. It's hard
to believe Bindu became such a monster.'
Both Sravanti and Vishal looked at me
with sympathy…
'But she forgave me though… I am
honestly a rich brat.' Sravanti said. Vishal shook his head.
'Nope! Forgive you for what? Forgive you
for trying to save your parents?' Vishal said.
Sravanti looked down. 'You see, you
helped me know who I am. I can definitely find my parents if I understand this-
that I am an alien. You aren't a brat. You are not entitled.' Vishal said.
'Okay- not let's stop that and plan
about how to stop those people from killing all of us.' I said.
Too late, we already heard the
footsteps and saw that lights turn off. I haven't planned yet, how now?
