Chapter 56 - Chapter 55 - Unexpected Events (II)

On the border between Midgard and the Greek Pantheon, a red-haired woman could be seen riding in a chariot pulled by two enormous bulls. It was Bestla, who was heading towards the Front Line on Odin's orders.

The woman held the reins in one hand and in the other, her battle axe was ready for any attack. She had not forgotten that Odin said she would be attacked near the Border. And with her experience, Bestla presumed that this was the best place for an ambush. It was close enough to the Greek Pantheon and far enough from any god she could ask for help.

Suddenly, the crows that followed Bestla exploded in a cloud of blood and flesh. Bestla noticed this and showed a cold expression. She looked around and noticed that the surroundings were strange.

Storm clouds covered miles, lightning danced like snakes in the clouds, the sound of thunder rumbled in the sky. The furious and deadly winds began to sweep everything before them, regardless of what it was.

However, Bestla had not yet detected the enemy. No matter where her winds passed, there was nothing abnormal. But it was precisely the absence of any abnormality that made her senses warn her that something was terribly wrong.

"The woman is really cautious." Godwyn commented, looking at the figure of the beautiful woman riding in the chariot. It was his grandmother, but there was not a hint of love in the golden eyes of the new Norse god.

There were few gods he loved and Bestla was not on this select list. Not when she allowed Odin to do whatever he wanted without trying to stop her son from the atrocities he committed or would commit.

Godwyn remembered well that he had asked Bestla to stop Odin from some decisions, but the woman simply closed her eyes, thinking that Odin could go back to being as he was before or that her love would finally have some effect.

But this world is not Disney, where the power of love and friendship could be truly powerful. Love didn't change anyone, it just made you want to be the best version of yourself for the person you love.

Bestla was so old, but she still hoped that her love would move Odin, but Godwyn and Odin himself knew that this could not happen and was nothing more than a foolish dream of a mother desperate to be accepted by her son.

An acceptance that was doomed to never work out. Not when Odin detested the Jotun and his own lineage.

"She is your grandmother? She doesn't look old at all." Thalia commented, looking at Bestla. The red-haired woman seemed to be thirty years old, beautiful and at the peak of her physical and mental beauty.

Godwyn rolled his eyes and said with an amused tone. "When you become a goddess, you will be as immortal as she is. Your appearance always at its peak forever and ever. How many women would kill for such an opportunity?"

Thalia had to admit, Godwyn had a talent for being a demon, always whispering what others always wanted to hear. She was really tempted to accept his proposal without any hesitation. As he had said, could any woman resist being young forever?

Although she was young, she also wanted to be beautiful for all eternity. Perhaps it was the primordial greed of every woman and Thalia was not exempt from this greed.

"However, no matter how beautiful my grandmother is, her heart is ugly and grotesque. She is just a racist piece of shit." Godwyn said, looking at his grandmother with a touch of sarcasm. He still remembered Bestla's words when he asked her for help.

'Get out of my house you dirty and filthy half-breed.'

"The time has come." Godwyn said, feeling that Bestla was getting more and more impatient. It was the right time to capture the Goddess of Storms and Hurricanes.

Suddenly, Godwyn raised his hand and golden chains appeared in the space behind him. These chains were made of his own authority of Order. They could bind and immobilize the target without killing it.

The best thing was that it could also prevent the gods from using their powers for a certain period of time. Of course, it also had great limitations, especially if the enemy was stronger than Godwyn.

But Bestla and Godwyn had similar powers and status, which made the Chains of Order a truly deadly weapon for the gods.

Just in case, Godwyn used the Divine Position of Protection on himself and Thalia. Taking a blow from Bestla was not in his plans. Being a Jotun, Bestla was physically stronger than most gods. There were few gods like Thor who could physically fight a Jotun.

Not everyone was Thor, not even Godwyn was able to withstand Thor's full physical strength.

Godwyn's chains advanced extremely fast, coming from totally different angles and different quantities. At the same moment, the hiding place used by Godwyn and Thalia was revealed with his attack.

Bestla didn't care about the chains coming towards her, she located Godwyn and didn't hesitate to brandish her battle axe. Lightning covered the axe as thousands of lightning bolts the size of huge buildings advanced against Godwyn.

In her eyes, these chains could never chain her, an extremely old and powerful Jotun. To bind her, she would need chains of the level that bound Fenrir, the World-Devouring Wolf.

But such a chain was impossible to replicate, even by Odin.

Godwyn looked at the gigantic lightning bolts calmly. He raised his hand and a golden barrier appeared before him. The lightning bolts collided violently against the barrier, ripples appeared on the barrier, but it remained firm and motionless before the devastating attack.

Suddenly, Bestla's battle axe collided with the barrier, forcing Godwyn to retreat hundreds of meters while clenching his teeth before the colossal force coming from the axe.

Although Godwyn was intact, the same could not be said of the surroundings. The winds swept everything off the map while the lightning burned anything in front of it. It was such a strong attack that in many cities around they could see the light or hurricane warnings were issued.

Thalia, who was protected by Godwyn, couldn't help but gasp at the full attack of such a powerful goddess. Previously, Heimdall was just playing with them, he never took it seriously from beginning to end, but Bestla was different.

She used her power with full force from the beginning. The scene of Bestla's attack was still alive and engraved in Thalia's mind. It was such a terrifying power that she understood the distance between gods and mortals.

Even the most powerful demigod she knew, Godwyn, was no different from a small ant before these beings.

Bestla felt the chains bind her, but she didn't care, she held the chain with her hands with the intention of tearing them apart with brutality. However, when she was about to do so, she discovered that she had lost control of her own divine positions, even her most proud object, her strength seemed to disappear.

"Contrary to Order, it is anarchy. No laws, rules, or control." Hearing the familiar voice, Bestla raised her head, showing a fierce expression and couldn't help but widen her eyes, seeing the small figure floating towards her.

"G-o-d-w-y-n." Each syllable spoken was to the sound of the Goddess of Storms' gnashing teeth.

"You don't need to teach me how to write my name, I already know." Godwyn said with a smile, seeing the goddess increasingly wrapped in chains. He had to admit, even though he didn't like to torture his enemies and even detested the idea, he enjoyed seeing the racist piece of shit being so fierce at that moment.

"You are not dead." Bestla said with a furious look. She couldn't believe she had been caught so easily, it was so stupid that she wanted to slap herself for being so arrogant. If she had dodged, she would be free and could fight Godwyn without any worries.

"Huh?" Godwyn showed a confused expression and said with a gentle tone, as if he were talking to an old woman with mental problems. "Is the old queen so old that she has lost her sight? Can't you see that I'm alive?"

"I even became a god, are you proud, grandma?" Godwyn asked with a tone full of false expectation as he watched with pleasure Bestla's face become as dark as the bottom of an old kitchen pot.

"You will always be a filthy, dirty, and impure half-breed." Bestla said with a sarcastic tone. "A wooden statue, even if it is painted gold, is still made of wood."

Godwyn didn't seem offended by his grandmother's words. What could he expect from a racist piece of shit, other than racist insults? So, Bestla's words were no surprise to him.

"Do you think you can hold me? It's not that easy, Godwyn." Bestla said with a fierce tone as a red light emerged from the body of the former queen of the Aesir gods.

Godwyn's face changed, feeling the divine and majestic aura emanating from Bestla. Although it had not reached the level of a God King, it was not far!
