The next morning.
"Who is that, Godwyn?" As soon as Thalia came downstairs, she immediately saw a strange man at the counter, drinking a bottle of wine with a quite relaxed expression. Her boyfriend was in front of this man, cleaning a glass with a white cloth.
"Someone who will be staying for a while." Godwyn said in a calm tone, looking at Chaos with a touch of helplessness. If possible, he didn't want a Primordial Creator God to stay, but he knew it was impossible to kick Chaos out, so he simply accepted the man in his bar.
Chaos looked at Thalia with his strange pale eyes and smiled gently. Taking a sip of wine, he spoke with an amusing laugh. "This is the famous Thalia Grace, the Goddess of Storms and Hurricanes; what an honor to meet you."
Thalia looked at the man with a touch of caution; she felt that the man before her was not a simple god, but a gigantic, immeasurable void encompassing everything and everyone, from the smallest stardust to the gigantic black holes.
"Hello." Thalia said in a slightly dry tone and with no intention of making a good impression on the God before her.
"Just like her father, although she also has some traits of her grandfather; he was quite arrogant, even more arrogant than Zeus." Chaos commented, seeing the caution and distrust in the child's expression.
He couldn't help but roll his eyes. Like Thalia, Zeus was equally distrustful, although he was too paranoid. As for Uranus, as the personification of the Sky itself, he was the epitome of arrogance, presumption, and pride.
Thalia's face twitched at the comment that she resembled her father and grandfather, both tyrants in their highest glory. Looking at Godwyn, who was staring at her with a helpless expression, she knew that the man really had a high status, as he hadn't even shown such an expression in front of Gaea and Nyx.
"I'm Thalia, old man." Turning her gaze back to the man, Thalia introduced herself with her arms crossed under her breasts. She was curious about who the old man was.
Chaos blinked once, twice, and three times, then a wide smile appeared on his face. It was the first time he had been called so informally in his immortal life; this truly surprised him.
If Godwyn had heard Chaos's thoughts, he wouldn't be surprised. For most beings, things like planets, galaxies, nebulae, and even the universe were something extraordinary, but for beings at Chaos's level, the extraordinary becomes common, and the common becomes extraordinary.
So, being called "old man" seemed common to many people, but for Chaos, it was the first time in his life, which added a touch of freshness to his long and unchanging infinite life.
"In terms of lineage, you are my great-great-granddaughter." Chaos said with a smile, looking at Thalia with a gaze full of amusement and interest. Remembering something, the Primordial God of Creation reached into the inner part of his suit and took out a ring, placing it in Thalia's hand. "This is a gift from me; I made it while I was bored, but it might be of some use to you."
Looking at the ring in her hand, Thalia saw that the ring was golden, the body of the ring was a two-headed serpent, biting a simply magnificent ruby. However, Thalia's vision saw much more than a simple ruby; she saw a miniature sun burning eternally inside the ruby.
Thalia opened her mouth in shock and disbelief.
This was a sun! A goddamn sun inside a ruby! A goddamn sun!!!
Raising her head and looking at the old man, Thalia remembered that he introduced himself as her great-great-grandfather, and the goddess herself began to trace her lineage.
From Zeus to Cronus, from Cronus to Uranus, and from Uranus to Gaea, and Gaea to… Chaos!!!
Swallowing hard, Thalia looked at Chaos, who was staring at her with provocation and amusement. However, proud as she was, she did not lower her head and spoke in a grateful tone. "Thank you, old man."
Chaos's smile grew; he nodded his head and looked at Thalia with a gentler gaze. He really enjoyed being called "old man" by his great-great-granddaughter. It was like a breath of fresh air after millions of years.
Honestly, this confused Godwyn a little. A being like Chaos, who should have trillions or quadrillions of years of existence, should logically be the most indifferent being in the cosmos. However, since meeting Chaos, Godwyn had only seen a man with a playful, provocative, and surprisingly gentle mentality.
"It's nothing much; it's just a toy." Chaos said in a visibly happier tone; he usually couldn't enter the mortal world without the Great Will's permission, so he was enjoying every second in this mortal world before he returned to the void.
Godwyn and Thalia rolled their eyes; a sun as a gift is a toy? So what is a galaxy, a bigger ball of energy?
Both Godwyn and Thalia saw for the first time what true power was; comparing gods to a Primordial God of Creation like Chaos was like comparing a child to an adult. Each inhabited a different scale of greatness.
However, after seeing what Chaos could do, Godwyn and Thalia felt a deep desire to become stronger. Perhaps it was in the blood of all demigods, but the craving for power was something deeply ingrained in their bones.
It wasn't power to satisfy their own greed, but the simple and pure desire to become a better version of themselves.
Chaos naturally noticed this and smiled. He didn't say anything or even advise that this was an impossible goal. If there was one thing he saw in his trillions of years of existence, it was that the cosmos was so vast that impossible miracles happen all the time.
"What did he come here to do?" Thalia approached Godwyn and asked in a whisper. She really didn't understand or even comprehend why the Progenitor God of All Greek Gods had come to their small bar.
"To teach me a few things, but I can't reveal it to you for security reasons." Godwyn certainly wouldn't reveal the existence of the Outer Gods to Thalia. He, as a Primordial God, had difficulty maintaining his sanity in the face of the whispers and gazes of the Outer Gods, much less Thalia, who was still a small goddess.
As for lying or omitting, that never crossed Godwyn's mind. A relationship was based on trust, and he wouldn't lie to Thalia; he would only tell the truth.
Thalia raised an eyebrow, but seeing the solemn look in Godwyn's eyes, she trusted her boyfriend and nodded her head. If Godwyn hadn't told her, it just meant that the matters involving Chaos were truly dangerous.
If Godwyn thought it would be dangerous for her to know the core of the matter, she wouldn't insist and would trust him, as no one cared more about her safety than Godwyn. Just as she also cared about her boyfriend's life and would give her own life to protect him.
The entire scene, the feelings, the mutual trust, and the love fell upon Chaos's eyes. He couldn't help but be stunned. He wasn't completely ignorant of the meaning of love, but in his eyes, such feelings were simply irrelevant.
Loving a being so much that one would sacrifice one's own life was a weakness he would never have or want, as he had the examples of his fellow Primordial Creator Gods. Tiamat loved her husband so much that everyone turned against her, Ymir let himself die out of love for his descendants, Atum was devoured by his own son and became Atum-Ra.
With so many examples, Chaos simply ignored his descendants and never really let his feelings interfere with his logic and reasoning. Even when Gaea was raped by Uranus, he closed his eyes. Even when Nyx conspired against Erebus, he closed his eyes. Even in the face of Eros's pleas to die, he closed his eyes. Even if Tartarus begged for a crumb of love, he closed his eyes.
However, observing Godwyn and Thalia, who had a pure love and companionship, Chaos felt that his hidden feelings were revealed.
He always felt lonely. At that moment, more than ever.
"Chaos, you look at the mortal world with a cold and indifferent gaze, but deep in your old heart, you long to have a simple dinner with your sons and daughters. Just like me, even now, I refuse to hurt my children, even if they dismember my hands and feet, even if they drink my blood, I still love all of them and only see confused children. Perhaps I am a fool for loving, but I felt happy for loving."
Remembering Tiamat's words before she was sealed and dismembered by her own children, Chaos couldn't help but show a complex look.
"I am so old and I'm thinking about such nonsense." Chaos murmured with a happy smile, but he himself knew how lonely he felt at that moment.
