Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Daredevil and Leo Bright

The bar was in disarray.

The gangsters showed no restraint, using their guns to force guests to crouch with their hands over their heads, checking each one.

"I said, this is my bar!" the old man shouted angrily.

"Come on, old man. Look at you, already using a cane. Don't be stubborn at your age. This isn't your era anymore," the thug sneered.

"Although I'm old, I can still take care of some punks like you." The old man spat and drew a long sword hidden in his cane.

The bartenders and waitstaff quickly drew guns from hidden spots around the bar, aiming them at the gang at the door.

"Are you defying Wilson Fisk? Have you thought about the consequences?" the thug narrowed his eyes, his tone icy.

"This is my bar, this is Daddy's bar. No one causes trouble here. If you need to find someone, do it elsewhere. Everyone here is my guest," the old man declared.

"Hahaha, very good," the thug laughed arrogantly, scanning the bar.

"Dad, I respect you. Now, everyone line up at the door to be checked, or you're opposing the Fisk syndicate."

"Hey, you know the consequences."

With that, he sneered, striding to the door, his men surrounding the entrance.

"Get everyone out, understand, fools!" a large man with a submachine gun shouted, firing into the air.

The bar guests panicked, forming a line to exit.

Once the first moved, others followed, and soon, the hall emptied.

"Let's go. They're not after us, it's okay," Kevin said nervously, not expecting such a situation here.

Daddy's Tavern was known as the safest place in Hell's Kitchen.

"Man, don't rush to protect all humanity, there's a group here needing your help."

"Does your Rising Tide Organization have no backup?" Leo asked, amused.

"Backup? You've got to be kidding! These are mobsters, thugs, they'll kill! I'm not sticking around for this!" Kevin cursed, leaving the hall.

"I thought they were impressive," Leo muttered with disdain.

"What do we do, should we go out?" Skye asked, frowning. She was panicked; it was her first encounter with such chaos, and she was momentarily lost.

"No, the mobsters aren't easy to deal with. Besides, you're too pretty to be out there with them."

"Plus, we're different, they aren't friendly to people like us."

"It's safer to stay here and ride it out. Let's not come to Hell's Kitchen again. Midtown is safer," Leo said, adjusting their caps.

"Yeah," Skye nodded, sitting beside Leo. Despite his usual carefree demeanor, he now exuded a comforting sense of security.

"The rest is to defy Fisk? Very good!" The thug glanced coldly at Leo, smirking before grabbing Kevin by the hair and shoving him aside.

"Your friends seem to disagree with you. Tell me, who are they?"

As he spoke, a gun was pointed at Kevin's forehead.

"Hey, man, I barely know them, just met them. I swear, really," Kevin said, slipping off a gold watch he had prepared when he left the hall.

"Oh, interesting." The thug pocketed the watch, kicked Kevin aside, then grabbed a black man by the neck, pressing a gun to his head.

"Look at me, fool. Did you see any injured man or strange figure come in tonight?"

The black man, nervous and sweating, shouted in terror, "No, no, don't kill me. I don't know, I don't know anything."

"Bang..." A shot rang out.

The black man fell lifeless to the floor.

"Too much talking." The thug wiped his gun, smirking coldly. "The cops won't be on duty tonight, so don't count on them."

"If Daredevil doesn't show up in a minute, I'll keep killing until he does."

"Turtle, I know you're hiding here. You had the nerve to hit our port but not to face us?"

He returned to the tavern, sneering at the old man, "Dad, I'm respecting you by not causing a scene here, but I want two people. Is that so much to ask?"

He turned, looking in Leo's direction.

"Bray, don't go too far. Do you know what you're doing?"

"I don't care about those outside, but the guests in my tavern are under my protection. Don't touch them!" the old man said, firmly gripping his shotgun.

"Am I giving you too much leeway?" Bray, the thug, scratched his head with his gun, shrugged, and approached Leo's table.

"Well, if it isn't two yellow monkeys."

"It's late. Why aren't you hiding in Chinatown under your blankets instead of coming to a bar? Didn't your mother tell you the world is dangerous?" Bray mocked, aiming his gun at Leo's head.

"I suggest you put the gun down," Leo said coolly.

His Beast Instinct tingled, urging him to crush the thug's neck.

"Enough."

"I'm here! Let those innocents go."

A cold voice came from the stairs, and a weakened figure appeared. Hooded, bandaged, and bleeding, he descended, a dagger at his side.

Beside him stood a blond girl, held at knifepoint.

"I'm sorry, Dad, I didn't mean to threaten you."

"Bray, the one Fisk wants is me. Leave everyone else out of it," Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, shouted, shoving the girl toward Daddy.

Daddy shook his head at Matt, teeth gritted in frustration.

Matt also gave a slight shake of his head, signaling his resolve not to drag Daddy into his mess any longer.

"Take him alive," Bray ordered, grinning evilly, his men swarming toward Daredevil.

The bar erupted into chaos, and the guests outside seized the chance to flee.

A sharp crack echoed.

"Boom..."

Bray's body hit the floor, pupils dilated, sneering face frozen in disbelief. He died so quickly he hadn't realized it, still smug even in death.

The mob turned incredulously.

Leo dropped Bray's gun, uninterested, and discarded it. He retrieved two daggers from his waist, tossing them lightly in the air before catching them.

"There are two types of people I hate most," he said.

"One is racists."

"The other is scum like you."

With daggers in hand, Leo charged forward like a Beast.
