Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Future Sight of Observation Haki

"How is this possible? That punch... I could feel a pressure no less than Mama's. How can that be?!" Perospero was drenched in cold sweat as he muttered in disbelief.

What Perospero didn't know was—if Rosinante could fully control the power surging through him now and unleash the full might of his Crushing Fist Barrage, then yes, his offensive potential might truly rival that of Big Mom herself.

Staring at the terrifying pressure radiating from Rosinante's fist, Katakuri felt it for the first time—the breath of death.

I'm going to die. If I take that punch head-on… I'll die!

Rosinante slowly raised his arm. But instead of charging forward, he threw the punch from a distance—straight at Katakuri.

With a thunderous boom, an invisible shockwave burst forth, shredding through the air, leaving behind visible ripples as if space itself had been torn apart. The force of the punch was like a swordsman's flying slash, but made with pure, raw power.

It was blindingly fast. In the blink of an eye, the shockwave had already crossed the space between them and slammed into Katakuri.

BOOM!

The ground exploded under the impact. Katakuri was sent hurtling into a mountain wall, crashing through it as rubble and dust erupted around him. Blood gushed from his mouth.

But then—Katakuri… smiled.

"You avoided the fatal point?" Rosinante said grimly.

"I see now. So that's what it takes… Only under immense pressure can one's Observation Haki evolve further," Katakuri said, his voice hoarse and bloody but laced with clarity.

Just before the punch landed, Katakuri had seen it—the future where the attack pierced his chest, obliterating his organs and ending his life. At that moment, his Observation Haki broke through its previous limits.

It had happened before. Katakuri used to think his Haki had peaked. But one day, he began glimpsing strange "visions"—images he thought were hallucinations. Until the scenes unfolded in reality. That's when he realized: it wasn't illusion… he was glimpsing the future.

But he couldn't control it.

Until now.

Under the immense pressure of death itself, his ability to foresee what's to come had finally become usable at will.

At that moment, he shifted ever so slightly—just enough to move his vital point. Then, he concentrated all his Armament Haki into the spot where the punch would land, crossing his arms to shield himself. The impact still sent him flying, blood spraying, but it wasn't fatal.

"You've broken through... Future Sight, huh?" Rosinante walked forward slowly, his face ashen and solemn. This was the last thing he wanted to see happen.

Katakuri had taken a brutal beating. His body was covered in injuries, and that last punch should have been the finisher. But now—he stood back up. Wounded, trembling, bloody… but smiling. And more terrifying than ever.

Swish!

Rosinante vanished from view, reappearing silently behind Katakuri and delivering a vicious kick aimed at the back of his skull—boom—shattering the head in a brutal explosion of force.

But Rosinante didn't celebrate. Instead, his expression darkened.

"Yeah… Future Sight, no doubt about it."

Katakuri reformed his body from mochi as he chuckled, "That's right. I have you to thank for it. If it wasn't for the pressure you gave me, I'd never have broken through. And now… in this state—I'm invincible!"

He wasn't just boasting.

Katakuri's Devil Fruit let him transform into mochi, allowing his body to change shape at will. Combine that with Future Sight, and he could foresee attacks before they happened—then shift his body to avoid damage. Even Armament Haki couldn't touch him in this state. It was more terrifying than the elementality of a Logia user.

"Invincible? You think too highly of yourself," Rosinante sneered. "Every power has its limit. And let's not forget—you're already on the verge of collapse. Let's see how long you can keep this up."

Rosinante vanished again, attacking with a blinding burst of speed.

Katakuri, with Future Sight now active, was finally able to react. He saw the attack before it happened and began matching Rosinante's movements.

Though Rosinante was fast, it wasn't to the point where Katakuri couldn't react. If it had been anyone else moving that fast, Katakuri would have sensed their position via Observation Haki and intercepted them. But Rosinante's fruit ability nullified all signs of movement—no sound, no pressure, no air vibration. He entered a "void state"—an anti-Haki phenomenon. Katakuri couldn't sense anything.

But now, with Future Sight, Katakuri could see it all in advance.

"What a troublesome ability…" Rosinante gritted his teeth.

The two clashed—BOOM!—their fists meeting in a storm of shockwaves.

Within moments, Katakuri had begun catching up to Rosinante's movements. A full-on brawl broke out, neither side giving ground.

This can't go on... Rosinante thought. Even if it's dangerous—even if it breaks my limits—I have to endure it. I have to end this!

He raised his fist. Power surged. The air vibrated.

"Crushing Fist Barrage!"

A close-range blast. The punch hadn't even landed before the force of it surged forward, tearing into Katakuri's body.

PFFT! Even with Future Sight, Katakuri couldn't fully dodge it. Part of his body exploded as blood burst from his mouth.

He had shifted his form in time to avoid the fatal blow, but part of the force still made it through.

"I can't stay on the defensive... I need to fight back!" Katakuri roared.

White globs burst out from his body, attacking Rosinante from all directions.

He reshaped his arms into mochi tentacles, wrapping them in hardened Armament Haki, spinning them like drills as he launched them.

He compressed mochi into rocket-like projectiles, laced with heat, blasting them like artillery.

But—

"Crushing Fist Barrage!"

"Crushing Fist Barrage!!"

"CRUSHING FIST BARRAGE!!!"

No matter what Katakuri threw at him, Rosinante retaliated the same way—fist after terrifying fist.

Each punch distorted the air, shattered everything in its path, pierced through mochi and Armament Haki defenses, and landed somewhere on Katakuri's body. Over and over again, Katakuri spat blood. Even with Future Sight, even with perfect evasive form—he couldn't avoid it all.

"Crushing Fist Barrage!!" Rosinante roared once more.

This time, the punch connected fully.

Katakuri couldn't dodge it.

BAM!

His body took the full brunt of the attack. Blood exploded from his mouth. His consciousness slipped. He collapsed with a heavy thud.

After all, this Future Sight was newly awakened. Katakuri couldn't maintain it for long. And in the end—he reached his limit. His precognition vanished… and with it, his ability to fight back.
