Adam came to his house. But he moved very carefully inside his own home. He checked every room. He looked in every closet.
He did not see much there. The house was empty just as he had left it. Today was a very easy day. Too easy.
Adam did not understand how he could spend a whole day normally. A day without attacks. A day without death. This was almost impossible for Adam. It had never happened before.
Because ever since he found out about his parents' death Adam's day had never been normal. There had always been some attack on him.
There was always a threat lurking in the shadows. His life was a constant cycle of violence and survival.
Seeing this whole day pass so peacefully Adam felt a little strange. It was an unsettling quiet. He knew that danger was ahead. He could feel it in his bones. The calm was just a prelude to the storm.
But Adam did not know from which side the danger was coming. He had no clues. He had no leads. He was completely in the dark.
