Planet: Climation
Year: 991
I'm Fars, aged 17 and just your typical farmer living on the one of the only two explored continents of Climation- Anun along my mom who is a good healer. We had a bit of a lousy mother-son relationship until yesterday.
In the early afternoon, the sun was shining brightly, probably the most bright this year. Clouds were clear, really good weather to go to beaches, not that I'm enough to enjoy life.
As I was collecting grass near the great jungle of osmos for the cattle, I heard a loud scream. I didn't thought of it much and continued collecting the grass. Birds started getting loud near the place where I had heard the scream from.
There I saw him- a young fella who didn't look like he belonged here, or rather this world. Neither he had horns like the people from Ru nor he was dressing the same way as us from Anun. Fully unconscious and also bleeding from the head, it seemed like that he had fallen from the tall tree of sprice.
Though my instincts were provoking me to not go towards him, I went. Carried him on my back and called it a day. The act might get me hungry for a day, but for saving a life it was nothing.
I brought him back home. My mother was pretty shocked to see him, she asked what had happened and told her the story. She was really supportive of my decision too. I felt relieved, due to my moms reaction. We took his clothes out, made him wear something comfortable, gave him the basic first aid and let him rest. If we were not that far away from the doctors, we might have had gotten him there for treatment.
We don't even have money for transport.
I had many questions to ask him as to why he was on top of a tree, where he was from, what clothes he was wearing. But, first he needed to recover.
I was there for the whole day, looking out for him. By the evening, he woke up.
I asked him if he was a bit fine now.
He didn't answer, rather started shivering. My mom who was a bit worried, tried to comfort him. I sensed that something was out of place and stopped her. He mumbled something, "Stay away, stay away", with his eyes staring onto my soul.
I didn't quite understand what he was saying. Maybe it was another language perhaps.
After a minute of mumbling words that felt similar. Then, he launched a powerful beam onto the sky which made it look like as if the heaven was pierced.
Our straw roofed ceiling was blown away, the act made us terrified. Then, with a cute smile he collapsed. We were certainly terrified, but really impressed. Terrified we laughed. We knew that he wasn't going to be a threat so, we didn't really care what's was going to happen to us if we sheltered him . We had a similar feeling growing inside of us. We wanted to keep him, take care of him. I can't fully express it in words. I think it can be called pity or maybe even love. It felt like we had to protect him.
Me and my old mother continued laughing. We laughed a lot, never like in our lifetime. I can't really express the feeling I felt that evening.
A while later I sighed and said, "Guess I have to work harder starting tomorrow to pay for the blown roof, thank god, the whole house wasn't blown". My mom nodded. At night, we looked towards the beautiful night sky blooming with 2 moons. My mom and I shared stories of our work and experiences, which in normal conditions we were too busy to talk about. I feel like our bond had strengthened due to that.
I thanked the shivering boy for it. But, I knew that I had to work 2 times harder the following days.
