She stumbled back, her bare feet scraping against the carpet as she clutched Fang Lin's arms desperately.
"Don't touch her!" Fang Lin snapped, stepping in front of Yueyao bravely to shield her.
Her slender body trembled but her chin lifted defiantly, "She doesn't want to go back with you. She's divorcing you, Shen Xiao. Just let her go! You don't have to force issues!"
A cold smile curled at the corners of his lips as he slipped his hands casually into his trouser pockets, his gaze never leaving Yueyao's pale, broken face.
"You think I will let her go just because she wants to leave? I never forced her to marry me, she chose to, she came to me on her knees!" His voice was low, calm, and terrifyingly gentle, "You think… divorce is an option for her?"
Fang Lin's breath caught painfully in her chest as her knees weakened under his suffocating presence. But she forced herself to stand firm, spreading her arms protectively in front of Yueyao.
