Chapter 17 - Unremembered

Today feels like a different day... As far as I remember, it's the first day of work... There was a new meeting... I think... The days must have gone by really fast this week... Tomorrow is the last day of work, but I don't remember the remaining three days. It's pretty weird... Also, I have to get ready for work... Did I hit my head?

"Have a nice day, Ivan. I see you're a little sluggish, how are you?"

"Todd!.. I guess I'm going through some weird times... I mean, I feel bad..."

"Take some time for yourself sometimes, Ivan. Your work always wears you out. I don't want you to wear yourself out like I did."

"In fact, we both seem to be going through some pretty rough times. But I am exactly as you've always known me. I'll always be myself."

"Hoping we end our difficult days with victory, Ivan. One day, let's go out for drinks again. Let's go back to the days when I knew you as you."

"Let's do it, Todd!! To the days when I saw you as you... For our life!!"

Ivan and Todd set off on their way to work again. After a brief chat on the way to work, they parted ways. Hoping to see each other again another day. Because they valued their friendship so much, even brief encounters helped ease their depression. This was especially true for Ivan. However, it was clear that Ivan couldn't help but ponder some meaningless things. What could possibly be the most he couldn't remember, couldn't make sense of?..

"Ivan!.. I was able to catch up with you. Let's go to work together today."

"Have a great day, Orion. I see you're up surprisingly late."

"I drank a little too much... That's why I was running late like you. But it looks like you're not late today, Ivan."

"I feel a little unwell. I still have to go to work, you know. I was thinking of coming in early, so to speak."

"In what way are you bad, Ivan?.."

"I feel a heavy sense of stagnation. But since it happens sometimes, I've gotten used to it..."

"I understand, Ivan. Don't worry. Try to take care of yourself!"

"That's what I hope for, Orion..."

As the two arrived at their business center, it was almost time for work to begin. Even so, the strange feeling that never left Ivan was growing stronger. He struggled to remember the three days he couldn't remember, knowing that even if he did, he wouldn't. He discovered that similar events had occurred after a long moment of reflection. But he couldn't bring himself to tell everyone about them...
