Chapter 318 - Chapter 318: Quiet Moments

"Pika!"

Pikachu, who had been dozing lightly, leapt onto Ash's shoulder the moment he entered the room. Pikachu had been the very first Pokémon he received upon arriving in this world—far earlier than Gary, who was still a long way behind.

"Ash, you're back."

Ash rubbed Pikachu's small, warm head and set the food he packed on the table in the living room. Having money—and the cooperative relationship he maintained with the Joy family—had its advantages. Whenever Ash arrived at a Pokémon Center, he received only the best treatment.

"Pi~ Pikachu."

Pikachu nodded cutely and pointed toward the bed with a tiny paw.

"So she's still sleeping, huh?"

Ash sighed lightly. "Even if we're on the verge of breaking through that last boundary… this level of drowsiness is something else. If she gets used to this, it'll be a problem."

He walked to the bed and gently pulled back the blanket, revealing Sabrina curled up into herself.

Ash chuckled faintly.

Then he slid his hand beneath Sabrina's T-shirt, cupping her soft Xuefeng with practiced familiarity.

"Hnn~…"

A soft breath escaped Sabrina's lips. Her long purple hair was slightly messy, and her half-lidded eyes fluttered open. Feeling the sudden touch, her psychic power surged instinctively.

"Oh? You're getting bold—trying to use psychic power on me?"

But the moment her power flared, Ash's Sharingan snapped open, suppressing Sabrina's telekinesis effortlessly. He pushed her gently onto the bed and straddled her waist.

"I—I thought it was someone else…"

Sabrina's voice trembled as she grabbed Ash's hands weakly. Her usual cold expression softened into a lazy, hazy look. The Sabrina others knew was indifferent and distant, but the Sabrina in Ash's arms was clingy, gentle, and even a little spoiled.

"Pikachu," Ash said without looking away from her, "take Eevee, Ralts, and Noctowl out to play. If you get hungry, go find Nurse Joy."

"Pika!"

Pikachu saluted with his tail, grabbed the three Poké Balls Ash tossed, and dashed out the door—clearly understanding the situation perfectly.

"Pika!"

Pikachu happily accepted the Poké Balls Ash tossed him and darted out of the room. Ever since following Ash, his meals were plentiful—anything from the Joy family kitchens was a feast in Pikachu's eyes.

Ash waited until the door clicked shut.

"No interruptions now," he murmured with a knowing smile. "Time for your punishment."

He slipped under the blanket with Sabrina, pulling it over the two of them as the lights dimmed.

One hour later

Sabrina lay flushed in Ash's arms, her fingers lightly tapping against his firm chest as she tried—and failed—to calm her breathing.

"You really are impossible," she muttered, cheeks burning as she pressed her face into him. "Wanting to… do things in places like that. You're a real pervert, Ash."

Ash only laughed softly and brushed her cheek. "Come on. We should get going."

He helped her sit up, then took her hand as they stepped out of the room together.

Since awakening the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, the negative emotions that once clung to him were nearly imperceptible—either suppressed or rendered powerless. Because of that, Ash's personality had grown more relaxed, more open… more like someone his age rather than the expressionless figure he once resembled.

This change eased Delia's worries; she had feared her son would remain distant forever.

Sabrina, however, was still recovering. Her legs were faintly unsteady—though her psychic levitation kept her moving gracefully enough that no one would notice. Without that, there was no way Ash would have let her walk ahead on her own.
