Chapter 84 - Eula, The Greatest Luck of My Life

In Mondstadt.

"No, go to another shop," the store owner said gruffly.

Eula looked at the merchandise on display not far away and pursed her lips.

"I'll remember this grudge," she huffed, then turned to leave.

The shopkeeper showed no remorse—his eyes still burned with resentment.

"No, no, move along. Don't waste my time or block my business."

When she went to a second shop, the owner also had no intention of selling her anything and kept trying to shoo her away.

All she wanted was a bottle of water to quench her thirst…

Eula felt a chill in her heart, but quickly pulled herself together.

Just as she was about to leave, someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around, only to have her eyes covered.

"Guess who?" came a familiar, mischievous voice beside her ear.

"It must be Amber," Eula smiled softly as she turned her head.

"How did you guess?" Amber asked, puzzled.

Eula blinked in surprise, then broke into a bright smile.

She pinched Amber's cheek and teased, "Who else would dare come this close to a Lawrence?"

"Hey…"

"No fair, you can't guess like that!"

"I believe soon, lots of people will play like this with you too."

Amber earnestly tried to comfort her.

"It's fine. I have you and Teacher, that's more than enough," Eula replied with a gentle smile.

"That won't do. Eula is such a good person—how can people keep misunderstanding you? I'm going to talk to them!"

Without waiting for a response, Amber grabbed Eula's hand and marched back into the shop. She stood tall and lectured the owner with righteous indignation.

She was just a child, scolding an adult—and the sight was so absurd that it drew bursts of laughter from the onlookers.

Even more embarrassing for the owner, he couldn't find a single point to refute. He scratched his head awkwardly and apologized to Eula, claiming he simply hadn't noticed the item she wanted.

It was a flimsy excuse, but Eula didn't mind.

"How much is it?" she asked calmly.

"How could you not see it? It's right there in plain view. That's not right," Amber pressed, unwilling to let it go.

"Yeah, yeah, not right at all—hahahaha!"

"That's right, little Amber's got a point! Shouldn't you waive the price to show your sincerity?"

The surrounding crowd chimed in playfully.

"I was wrong, I was wrong. No need to pay—just take it as my apology," the flustered shopkeeper stammered, hands pressed together as he bowed in apology to Eula.

Then, turning to Amber, he pleaded miserably, "My little ancestor, please let me off the hook. Look, all the neighbors are watching and laughing at me…"

"Hmph, that's not up to me—it's up to Eula," Amber said with a snort, casting the decision to her friend.

Eula blinked, surprised. She thought Amber was just fooling around, but now the shopkeeper was apologizing for real—and even offering the drink for free.

"One thing has nothing to do with the other. I've already remembered the grudge from earlier," she said calmly. "But buying this drink is a separate matter. So, how much?"

The owner froze, then glanced again at Amber, visibly afraid of what more she might stir up.

Thanks to Amber's antics, he could already imagine the endless teasing he'd face from his neighbors.

"Since Eula insists…"

Grinning obsequiously, the shopkeeper offered, "It's 300 Mora, but I'll just charge you 100."

Without hesitation, Eula handed over 300 Mora and said, "Thank you."

After that, she and Amber left together.

The shopkeeper stood frozen in place, stunned.

"She… just thanked me?"

He stared at the Mora in his hand, then at their retreating figures.

"Maybe I've been too prejudiced against her…"

After a long while, he let out a bitter chuckle, shook his head, and returned to his shop.

To be treated with hostility—yet respond not with anger, but with grace.

That thought filled him with a deep sense of guilt. Whatever lingering bias he had against Eula dissolved completely.

...

"Eula, you're way too kind. He treated you so terribly, and you still paid—and even thanked him!"

"If it were me, I'd at least grab a bag of snacks to get even!"

Amber walked at Eula's side, still indignant. But her words were also full of admiration.

"I take revenge in my own way," Eula said, sipping her drink.

"But you always say that—and never actually do anything," Amber frowned in confusion.

"I do act."

"Huh? Since when?"

"Just now," Eula replied.

Amber paused. Thinking back to what Eula had just done, realization dawned.

"Your revenge is way too gentle," she muttered.

"Really? Isn't it vicious?" Eula looked genuinely shocked.

"No one takes revenge like you."

"There must be… someone?" Eula said uncertainly.

"Well, it's certainly unique."

"Right? I thought so too," Eula laughed happily.

From that day forward, Amber took on the role of Eula's revenge accomplice.

Whenever Eula ran into trouble, Amber would appear at just the right time.

And whenever Eula completed an important mission or made a great contribution, Amber would set up a stage in the heart of Mondstadt and proudly announce her achievements.

Every time the citizens heard about Eula's deeds, they'd be amazed—and cheers would rise from the crowd.

Someone who could be so gentle, even in vengeance…

How could Amber let her be misunderstood or isolated?

If Elliot, as Eula's teacher, was the one who helped her find and anchor her path...

Then Amber was the one who protected that path, doing all she could to smooth away the obstacles.

"Teacher, meeting you and Amber is the greatest fortune of my life."

At a modest dining table, Eula suddenly spoke.

Elliot and Amber exchanged a glance, then smiled.

"Meeting you is the greatest luck of my life too," they replied in unison.
