"Geo Emperor! You've returned!"
Upon seeing Elliot and Morax arrive, the Mountain Shaper's expression lit with excitement.
"Hmm. How are things on your side?" Morax asked.
"We were just about to tell you! We killed the god who invaded Liyue!" Cloud Retainer announced, her voice tinged with pride. Yet beneath the boast lingered something else—an emotion harder to define.
"You killed it!?" Morax's eyes widened in genuine astonishment.
He clearly remembered that Elliot had only ever taught them evasive techniques—not any real combat methods.
And with that alone, they managed to kill an god!? Just how weak must that god have been?
Seeing Morax's stunned expression, the Adeptis exchanged strange smiles, unable to suppress their amusement.
It couldn't be helped. After all, the entire affair had been absurdly comical.
"Your Majesty, why not guess how we killed the god?" Skyward Guide teased, drawing out the suspense.
"How did you kill it? With traps?"
"Nope."
"Not traps? Then it must have been elemental power."
"Not that either."
Morax blinked in confusion.
Other than elemental power and mechanisms, what else did they have? They didn't wield weapons—what else could possibly kill an god? Crushed by a falling rock?
"I give up," Morax said at last.
"Heh, couldn't guess, could you? He choked to death!" Cloud Retainer eagerly revealed the secret.
"Choked to death?" Morax froze in place, dumbfounded, struggling to comprehend such a bizarre cause of death.
Though they had expected this reaction, seeing it firsthand was still immensely entertaining.
"Actually, it was Ganyu who choked him. When we went to subdue the god…"
As the Adeptis took turns recounting the story, Morax pieced together the entire sequence of events.
Yet even then, he seriously suspected they were spinning some ridiculous tale to fool him. After all, could something this absurd truly have happened right under his nose?
"You're all conspiring to amuse yourselves at my expense, aren't you?" Morax asked flatly.
"Of course not, Your Majesty. It's the absolute truth."
"Yes, we witnessed it ourselves. How could we dare deceive you?"
"In fact, if you head to the backside of Tianheng Mountain, you'll see Ganyu there."
Still skeptical, Morax went to look.
Sure enough, what met his eyes was a massive blue sphere, her stubby legs pumping furiously as she ran, her face contorted in determined effort.
"What on earth is she doing?" Morax asked, bewildered.
"Training, of course. After such an embarrassing incident, she's refused to return to Tianheng Mountain. She's been running back and forth down there ever since, no matter how much we try to persuade her."
Moon Carver stepped forward, explaining as he watched Ganyu's persistence.
Morax narrowed his gaze, observing her carefully. And indeed, she was genuinely training.
So… she really did choke an god to death!?
A wave of absurdity washed over him.
If this were just a joke, he might have believed it. But for something so ridiculous to truly have happened—right here in Liyue?
Morax even felt a pang of regret at not having witnessed the scene himself. He almost wished he could have seen the god's face in that final, ludicrous moment.
"Where was that god's body?" Morax asked at last, curiosity winning out.
"Over there. Just keep going straight. It was a massive six-armed ape-like god," Mountain Shaper replied, pointing the way.
Morax immediately took flight.
He might not have seen the spectacle, but examining the scene firsthand was still worthwhile. He also wanted to know which god had met such a pitiful end.
After some flight, Morax arrived at the battlefield.
The terrain was torn apart—trees uprooted, mountains shattered. Beneath the cliffs lay the six-armed ape, its body covered in jet-black fur.
A massive wound gaped across its neck, still stained with blood. That must have been the spot where Ganyu had burst out after choking it to death.
Even with the evidence before his eyes, Morax still found it utterly unbelievable.
Being crushed by rocks would have been a plausible death. But choking? That was a fate beyond imagination.
Morax bowed his head in silence for the god, offering a moment of respect. Yet even as he did, a laugh almost slipped through.
Though it felt inappropriate, he couldn't resist. A quiet chuckle escaped before he quickly covered his mouth.
"This may be the most unjust death of any god I've ever seen," Morax thought.
After his reflection, Morax returned to Tianheng Mountain—only to find Elliot gone.
Upon asking the Adepti, he learned that Elliot had said he was leaving for a while and wouldn't return for some time.
