Chapter 82 - Sunset And Something Else

Cyrus's hand hovered just inches from his face, close enough that Kane could feel the warmth radiating from his skin.

His crimson eyes lowered, focusing on Kane's mouth with an intensity that made Kane's stomach flip.

Kane's pulse hammered against his ribs so loudly he was sure Cyrus could hear it.

The plush dragon in his hands was crushed against his chest as every nerve ending sparked to life.

Time seemed suspended at the peak of the Ferris wheel, the golden sunset painting everything in warm hues.

The couple in the next gondola had gone quiet. Even the wind had stilled.

Kane's lips parted slightly, an unconscious invitation.

Cyrus's fingers lightly brushed a strand of silver hair away from Kane's face, the touch feather-soft and deliberate.

Then he plucked something small and sticky from the strands—a tiny tuft of bright blue cotton candy, clinging stubbornly to the silver locks.

He held it up between them.

"You're a mess."
