By the time Cain returned to his dorm, the sun was already beginning to set and despite his Degraded Immortality Skill healing him, the pain didn't fade so easily. Cain spat out some of the blood that remained in his mouth before he opened his door.
Inside, he found Jayden waiting for him reading a book, perhaps studying for an upcoming test. When the door opened, her ears perked up and she turned her head to smile at Cain. However, her eyes widened with shock when she saw Cain's messy appearance.
His clothes were shredded, especially around his chest and her sensitive sense of smell picked up traces of blood. Cain had been in a fight and blood had been shed!
"What happened?!" She practically shouted as she leapt to her feet. A fiery rage burned in her eyes which made Cain smile wryly. "Who did this to you?! I will tear them limb from limb!" she growled as she closed the distance between them and began inspecting Cain to see where he was hurt.
