Chapter 2 - HER ACT

TEN YEARS LATER

"Cursed bitch! Eat this!" Several rotten food is thrown at Lumina, as she struggles to look for the food.

But it was becoming hard for her, her hands outstretched. She tried severally to touch it but the girls surrounding her would kick it off and even match her hands in the process.

Tears flooded her eyes, she was so hungry but they were making it hard for her to eat.

"What is going on here?" They hear the voice that holds power and authority.

Everyone bowed her head except one who had jet black hair, in her blue robe… as she held a cane in her hands.

"Dad!"

"Courtesy Rhenera!" King Ryker, yelled making her fall to her knees immediately.

He signaled to the guards who quickly rushed to Lumina to help her up.

"What is wrong with you? Why continue bullying your sister." Rhynera made a disgusting face,

"Dad! Never! She might have your blood but not mine, no cursed blind bitch! Whose mother betrayed the realm would be related to me!"

Lumina looked down sadly upon hearing this, she wanted to fight for her mum, but she disliked the way everyone thought her mother was a betrayer.

She so badly wanted to prove to everyone that her mother wasn't one, but she was blind, and she still hadn't met the one her mum called a protector.

King Ryker moved toward Rhymera smacking her across her face and making Rhynera grumble under her breath.

"How dare you talk to me in that tone!"

"I will Dad!" she yelled back her hands still on her face soothing the pin from the slap.

"What is so special about her mum? Why don't you just follow the instructions of the High King and destroy every bloodline traceable to her mother!" King Ryker slapped Rhynera again and Lumina quickly rushed to her father.

Yes, she is blind but if she isn't bullied she could get directions of where people are standing very quickly.

"Father!" Lumina fell on her knees shaking her head, "Please don't hurt sister… forgive her." Rhynera was irritated and pushed her out of the way.

"Don't fucking beg for me! You are nothing," Rhynera yelled and walked out on her father.

"Get back here!" King Ryker called back his daughter, but Lumina grabbed his feet hoping it would ease her father.

"Father… please don't punish her I.."

"Enough of you pleading on her behalf, she doesn't listen and she would get punished for that." King Ryker cut Lumina off.

"Father!" Lumina let out again and this pissed King Ryker more.

"Her salary for this month is cut off, and she would be on house arrest for three days,"

"My Lord." The king's Aide Salmon disapproved immediately. "The princess is having her birthday in few days"

"Then it's canceled." everyone gasped around, "And to you all," he said pointing at Rhynera's minions.

"You are to work with the palace guards for three months."

"My lor.." King Ryker raised his hands, stopping his aid.

"No matter what, even though she is the legitimate daughter of my queen, she still needs to respect Lumina as an older sister." he hollered and they all bowed at once.

"Consider it done My lord,"

But Lumina was still trying to get her dad's attention. "Father, please we can…"

"One more word from you Lumina and you would take the punishment," Lumina shut her mouth and then King Ryker glanced at her handmaiden.

"What are you doing?, help her up!" he yelled and Stella rushed toward Lumina to help her up, pulling her from King Ryker's feet.

King Ryker might be a king but is the kind that is nice to members of the realm or so they think.

After the death of his concubine Elena, Lumina's mum everyone sees as a curse to the realm

He promised to take care of her vulnerable daughter, who turns out to be blind.

Though he tries his best to give her the best life, the position she finds herself in makes her suffer.

"Lumina, I told you to work on your fighting ability, why isn't it still good?" Lumina grasped the stick given to her and she smiled.

"Father, I am blind… having fighting skills will be so hard on me," King Ryker sighed.

He moved toward her swinging his hands but Lumina didn't move an inch and he stopped midway.

"Work on your hearing, the next time I come see you… we will battle and you must win." Lumina smiled at her father.

"As you wish Father," King Ryker smiled and patted her hair, with one last sigh he walked off along with the guards.

The moment he left, Lumina turned her back walking into her chamber, with Stella tracing behind her.

She threw her stick away and stopped in the middle of her chamber.

"Three days.." she mumbled and Stella nodded her head moving forward to stand in front of Lumina.

"My lady, you are so smart how did you know the king would come and would also punish her?" Lumina smirked.

"To prove to me that is truthful to his word and also the best father in the world." Stella snorted at this.

"Besides, today is my birthday… and it is a normal ritual for him to come." Hearing This, Stella went silent.

He came and left without wishing her a happy birthday, and that is because that sly bitch made everything revolve around her again.

"You don't have to make that face, I dislike being celebrated for my birthday." Stella let out a small laugh recalling how she had been the first to wake Lumina up with a small cake.

"So what are you going to do?" Stella tried changing the topic as she helped her sit on the dressing chair.

Lumina sighed out loud, she wasn't hungry, she was only playing games with her little sister so she was seen as vulnerable.

"I need to set her up within these three days, there would be no one to watch me while I explore." She finally let out.

"My Lady… explore how?" Stella asked, confused.

"It's time," she mumbled, and Stella stared at her, "it's finally the day I will see the one who's meant for me, and I need to leave this realm if I need to do it." Then Lumina turned to Stella.

"My Lady… but how?." Lumina patted her shoulder, "Leave that to me, I have my way of doing things ."
